Same. It was a very entertaining, yet informative and fair-minded video he made.
A lot of people rag on these guys. Yeah, they could've handled it better. But they fought long and hard to take their failure and make it a good game. I find that much tougher than making a good game in the first place.
Now, I see that their new game "The Last Campfire," and I'm thinking about picking it up.
So many are accused of sin on the internet. But I think these folks truly deserve redemption. They've gotten it in my eyes.
Waker of Winds I agree. While I was thoroughly disappointed at launch, as NMS had the potential to be the space exploration game I’ve always dreamed of, they steadily added stuff to the game to build it up to what it was supposed to be, and is now all the better for it.
Honestly my problems with it these days are more nitpicks (ship handling and system) than anything else in the grand scheme of this game.

@@Bakashi Exactly, these indie developers are what the AAA developers USED to be long ago before greed and not caring about their players and customers and only caring about their shareholders set in. Just look at what Blizzard used to be before Activision got their hands on them. Look at what Bethesda used to be before greed etc set in.
I like how people say this without thinking why. This is viable for them because they are an indie developer. They have very low employee count compared to the hundreds a developers in AAA studios, meaning less salaries to pay. Comparing the two isn't exactly fair. Plus this game is still $60 bucks for a reason.
No other studio would have put that much effort into a "failed" one time purchase game ... ever. And you are completely crazy in the most awesome way possible for doing it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Best $10 I have ever spent, the only game in history to constantly puts out new FREE DLCs even years after the release. This one alone has more content changes than most game sequels.

I love that it's all been free too. All these years of work being put into the game without asking anything more from the players and even when they implemented the cosmetics and Quicksilver, I was sure at some point there would be micro-transactions but they still haven't done that.
I can't believe Hollywood didn't turn the story of Hello Games into an Oscar winning movie yet.

Just update and jumped in to my main planet base. Already scanned 5 new creatures in about a minute. Only issue: the update changed the main grass color of my planet.

I would buy DLCs to no mans sky. But this is just them fixing the game due to the game size it's the only logical way to fix it alittle at a time and get a feel for what the universe needs to improve and make exploration more eventful

It´s everything I was hoping for and more. I´ve been a fan since the original 2016 release when everyone was hating it because to me it was all about the landscapes and when Next came out and reduced the scale on everything I was really disappointed because exploration was no longer fun and it was actually pointless. But now ORIGINS is outstanding! It restored the original worlds scale and the variation (in height) of some of the landscapes is fantastic. And yes, it´s true that this new Origins trailer does not showcase much which is weird because trust me, there's a ton of new stuff in NMS to discover. I´ve been hopping from planet to planet since Origins was launched and I have yet to be bored, the repetition is minimal, the new worlds are outstanding and Origins even "fixes" most of the "Next" boring worlds adding new features. But the scale is awesome now. And VR is perfect. These are the worlds I always wanted to explore in VR so thank you Hello Games.
Because i´m a professional illustrator NMS not only is a game to me , but actually a creative tool in itself. I have more than a 1000 hours of play since 2016 and I have yet to build a base or play any of the gameplay stuff added over the years. I just jump from planet to planet and use this game as a walking simulator, to explore the geography and take LOTS of "Photos". This is because I can use the camera to compose shots that actually end up inspiring me to do my own illustrations or concept art on my daily illustration job. I love to compose a shot and photograph the scenery and so I´m really happy that Origins brought the original planets scale back.
You can check out my "Photos" of the new NMS worlds on my blog, which is no longer abandoned ; (I simply had quit exploring once "Next" came out and made all the worlds boring and so the blog was put on halt for two years). But now with the amazing worlds of Origins it´s time to start walking again and take my photos in NMS.

I wouldn't call the repetition minimal lol... I've found the same tree on like 10 different planets and counting.
@@Vulprex I actually mean its minimal when it comes to the geographies. In Next there was no point in going to the next hill because it would be exactly the same view from there as there was on the one we were standing but now with Origins there´s a lot more varied terrain and we never know what geographic or terrain feature will be after something. Like it was in the original 2016 release. Except I still think the original epic terrain was better than this updated one from the Next engine...but yes, this game needs more assets like rocks, trees and stuff like that. Particularly it needs more of those giant epic rock slabs because it keeps repeating the same shaped one in deserts and snow planets...
But overall i love the terrain generation because now it makes me want to continue to walk just to see what landscape comes up after that next ridge... ;)

Same. To be honest I liked the game even at launch. It definitely didn't live up to the hype but it was a nice experience anyway for me. It is so good to see it continue to grow; Hello Games are doing a great job and I love NMS.

I feel the first Release vibe when i turn my PSVR Headset on and i see all the new things around me.
The Planetary Terrain is so amazing, all the high and rugged Mountians, the big Caves, the new weather and Flora/Fauna looks so awesome in VR.
The Sound effects are better and the new Menü is so clear.
Absolutely brilliant.
And I've only been visit two planets since the new update.

Are there hubs world we're players can form alliances and contribute funds for crazy mega constructions.
It would be nice if an alliance could build death stars (DISNEY🙌) like planet destroys with black hole engines. That could blow up player worlds or systems from the game.
Or more ship varietions, like joist ships. They could have single fire aim, high speed and focus on raming other ship with a special custom designed weaponized force that lazer burns hulls on contact.

Planets with multiple biomes, a kind of base defense system (set up turrets to defend against pirates, sentinals, aggressive fauna, that kind of thing), being able to blow up the sentinal freighters in a fiery explosion, and proper buildable space stations. Those additions would be amazing! And of course, any additions Hello Games wants to add for fun, 'cuz I don't think Living Ship, Bytebeat, nor Exo Mech were big additions everyone was clamboring for to be added, but they're welcome additions nonetheless
Amazing stuff guys, wife and I both got copies and I've been talking to friends about it lately as well. Ever considered hostile sentient creatures? They'd have to be rare encounters, like uber monsters from diablo. Imagine landing on a planet, and a few minutes in your suit warns you of a xenomorphic threat. You turn around and see something fast, deadly, and smart. Think like Ridley Scott's Alien.

I got this game day 1 and was massively disappointed but what a way to make my 60 dollar purchase beyond worth it!!!

i just left the game before going on vacation telling myself i would not play again because i've made what i wanted, but this.. changed my mind. definitly. awesome guys :)

Years later, and the trailers for the game still give me goosebumps! I never gave up on NMS, thank you Hello Games for sticking with it, its an incredible game to this day!

I would like to start a conversation for future updates with some ideas, what do you think?
-What if those new megastructures actually were fully explorable dungeons like the ones from space, but with their unique taste or features (And making finding them a quest in itself, perhaps requiring to solve a puzzle or two in order to unlock the structure's location)
-What if rare findings in space like jellyfish or such granted you with unique or rare cosmetics (perhaps suit effects or colors) or trophies, different from the ones you get in multiplayer missions? This would further encourage exploration and make finding them extra rewarding.
-And a weird personal one, but been wanting to see this feature since day 1: We already have 3rd person flight, but it would be awesome to be able to look around more freely at the spaceship mid-flight in real time, and perhaps to have a mode where taking off and or landing was more than just pressing a button, making it feel like each starship had different response behaviours, or more so than it already is.
With those features, for me at least, NMS would need nothing more for good. Hello Games could just release unique trophies, cosmetics or abilities or missions every now and then, and that would be just perfect.
It was amazing to see this game returned. after slumping at the start of its release in 2016. I really appreciate that.

I can't thank you guys enough I started playing on my one x on game pass got 40 hrs in and bought the game out right i was very impressed this has been one of my favorite games and is still continuing to surprise me because all your hard work i just wish I could give you more money at this point lol

This is gold standard and industry precedent setting stuff, it is often said but truly No Mans has been, is and is continuing to be the most remarkable and incredible redemption story in the gaming industry, as a gamer and consumer of games, thank you all so much for this game.

Exactly what I've needed to jump back in. The previous updates were awesome of course. But those were the type of things more important to others. I wanted this game for the exploration. Heck, I played 100 hours and platinumed the game before their first real update. Just because I loved going from planet to planet looking around. Now this gives much more reason to do that.

Just again amazing job by hello games. Never stop on No Man Sky, this could be simple best cosmos game and experience ever, with memories and ton of players exploring space.
I was right, new fauna, sand worms and snow obsidian finally got he's lava planets.
How far this game has come, it's really mind blowing, and all these updates that keep pushing the game forward for free, thank you for all of this HelloGames team, it really shows the passion you have for your projects.
Ever since the Beyond update this one has been one of my mainstays to play in VR, and looking at this it certainly will continue being one for quite some more time.
