Stylistically this was an awkward fight for Floyd, but he handled it well. Maidana had no chance standing in the middle of the ring, he barely landed anything so he relied on throwing 100 punches on the ropes which Floyd dictated as well (backing himself into them & moving when needed) this was a great fight to watch and see how Floyd adjusted throughout the fight.

You're delusional. Maidana PUT Mayweather on the ropes, he didn't dictate shit. And those 100 extra punches to Mayweathers arms and sides and neck and even glancing shots to the gloves that didnt fully land definitely put Maidana over the top for the win. He outworked Floyd, he bullied him, and he outlanded him in 6 of the 12 rounds. He definitely won.
And the proof of that is if these 2 switched roles, and Maidana fought the same exact fight as Floyd & vice versa, Floyd STILL woulda got the decision and Floyd fanboys like you would STILL be saying he won.

Those were not easy fights, sure Connor wasn't a boxer but that's an exception. All those fights he was up against elite contenders that he had to overcome, those fighters came in to win and fell short. Mosely and maidana concussed him and he came back and best them. He boxed the fuck out of Canelo for fucks sake. Mayweather is one of the greatest fighters you will ever see.

I have a few questions for the people who don't like Floyd.
When you all watch Floyd fight, do you not see him throw punches? I ask because people always say all he does is run but he actually punches and lands at high accuracy.
When other fighters throw combinations at Mayweather, how often do they actually land most of the punches? Maybe the haters see a lot of punches being landed but punches landed on the forearms and elbows aren't actually landed punches. They are blocked punches.

Jason, so true I dont know where they get the running part. I have watched just about all his fights and he fights pretty much in the middle of the ring. He goes to the ropes at times. He walks an opponent down if he has to. He only moves to avoid getting pinned on the ropes and at times to reset his attack. People see him take a step back and tie up and they accuse him of running. The sport is called Boxing.
Correct to score a point the punch cannot be blocked. this means when you hit the arms or gloves first it wont count.

I love defense but if a large part of your defense involves clinching and hoping the ref resets then it just isn't as impressive as a RJJ or lomachenko. Not even close.

He starts out the round on the ropes and just ties Maidana up and then moves the fight to the middle of the ring where he jabs to the body and head and throws counter rights. Maidana comes in again and he just blocks punches with his arms and rolls his head one way to avoid the punches all the while he's counter punching with short quicker shots on the inside. He frustrates fans because they can't accept that someone could be that good and in his prime he could beat all there heroes.

Probably my top 3 favorite of Mayweather's fights. This is just one of the bouts that shows Floyd is the best. Under pressure the whole, lost probably the first 3 or 4 rounds. It was a fight, and he found a way to come out on top and make adjustments in the fight to counter all of the pressure Maidana was coming at him with. For me Floyd won 7-5 Majority decision.
Yeah, maidana had the perfect style to show off floyds technique. He fought the way people wanted everyone to fight Floyd. In his older age, Floyd stopped being aggressive and didn't try to finish fighters. That's why he was so defensive. So we needed someone like maidana to make things interesting.
You can see mayweather still sharp in the center of the ring, he lost a step or two eluding punches but his defense still better than half of the fighters awareness in the game..

I'm a Filipino. But I always loved the style of Floyd Mayweather. He definitely isn't the most exciting to watch (especially for the casual fans). But he is a true master of the sport.

Floyd around this time in the fight realized he couldn’t be as patient and defensive as he usually is. He had to be a bit more aggressive and actually let his hands go a bit. Them you could see the skill level difference
