When my Seiko 5 is as old as that one I'm sure it will look just as bad. I can only hope someone will be around to put as much care into it as you have. Even daily beaters deserve some love now and again. Nicely done.
Hehe oh I have had that convo about my daughters many many many times, both girls put me thru hell when they were growing up but now they are mid and late twenties and queens of their own domains, now I just mess with watches, three wheeled vans, old Italian scooters and of course watches... watches never bitch like a daughter :P
I'm working on my last arrival a 7009, something not right with the magic fingers as they don't work correctly so going to have to break down the auto works, watch works beautifully other than the day pusher mechanism seems bogged down and just gets stuck. Not so bothered about the day pusher as can do that with the crown but thinking the tips on the fingers are worn or its impulse point is damaged :S
Interesting to see that nice work. Never thought, that the bezel has to be removed to press the crystal in. I would have thought the crystal has to be pressed in the whole case. Is it the same procedure with the Alpinist SARB017?
Nice save Spencer. Love the history and honesty of this timepiece. I am sure the owner will cherish it for years to come. Would have liked to see how you repaired the dial feet.
@5:29 Spencer: patience - patience! It isn’t that they don’t listen - they don’t respond! They are tuned to a frequency that we have long since forgotten how to access and they ENJOY the idea that “not listening” seems to tighten your screws!
@@SpencerKleinVintageWatch I enjoyed it mate....and how you do what you do with all the distractions amazes me. If I strip a fishing reel its a midnight job so no one can break my concentration! Cheers Russ.
I have a similar seiko 5 I lent to my then girlfriend, now wife and I had to regularly open it to retrieve something that had been knocked off the dial. she never knew how it happened 🤔
Vanilla Coke Zero is incredible. Dang now I want one. Also - have you ever shown the process of how you jewel an arbor port or center wheel? I am trying to do that on a 6309.
I have a 7009-3060 but it has got the same case as yours, I think. Only my dial is different. Does anybody know the crystal dimensions and gasket size?
Hei sir I hope this finds you well. I have a similar watch to this one how much will it cost to have service? Almost same exact thing you done and glass replacement. Thank you

Totally agree
I have owned a 1979 Seiko 7009 from new, it has never been serviced, but still runs.
The seconds hand is superb on this model
YUp.. I was surprised to see such a one on such an early model.
i know it's pretty randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to watch new movies online?
@Joseph Timothy i use FlixZone. You can find it on google =)
@Jesus Adrien Yup, have been using flixzone for since april myself =)
@Jesus Adrien Thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service =) Appreciate it!
Well done sir
Fantastic, excellent work!!
Thank you! Cheers!

I kinda liked the sleeper stealth look with the 5 badge gone... got me thinking

those have the modern Seiko style flat-sided crystals with a nylon gasket.
Thanks for giving more explanation of the regulation. Next time please video the movement as you tap it up and down so we can see what you do.
I'm not set up to do that - to regulate I'm right on top of the movement, and there's no place for the camera to be.
Spencer Klein Now I think about myself doing it I completely take your point if you have no side angle space.

That's the reason I clicked the video in the first place.. My Seiko 5 just busted the feet off last night somehow.. lol

Nice work spencer, where did you get the crystal?
I'm sorry to say I've entirely forgotten!
Good to hear the f word Spencer!
He sounds like me as the quarentine has gone on. Lots of cursing about the kids with the wife.
I forgot to cut that bit out.

Great Video. Wondering if you can help me locate the ball and spring for my bezel on a SEIKO 6159-7000. NO more clicking sound! Thanks
Olivier
Hi sir. How much reserve power is store in full wind in mainspring? Where we can find new dial in online market?
If the watch is in good serviced condition, close to 40 hours.
@@SpencerKleinVintageWatch thank you🙏
Where can I source a new crystal for 7009-3131?
Nice one Spencer thanks 😊

“She chooses not to listen, like she just won’t fking listen”
The only benefit of the hardened grot is that it protects the watch surface from minor damage.
A just wondering if you were selling the 6138 pusher seals yet ? Thanks
