This is a lovely watch. It looks larger than the other Seiko's of its time. The empty case looked very delicate but classy. You made the restoration look effortless, truly skilled and a pleasure to watch.
Me too. I have my father's Seiko like this which he bought in Hong Kong. It is in very good condition but has some medium size scratches on the crystal. One day I will polish them out carefully. It still keeps good time - I had it serviced in Sydney and a new crystal put in by an excellent watchmaker trained in Hong Kong. He knew what it was immediately and was pleased to work on it. I wear it when I am dressing up a bit or need a cheer up as I want to look after it and remember my Dad.

this is masterwork, this is not something for hobby work, firstly you have to study watchmaking, secondly you have to have all the tools and thirdly you have to be a good technician, and that is what this gentleman is
Goodnight , I have an old Seiko like this, it belonged to my paternal grandfather, it must be about 70 years old or more, it works perfectly. Because of him I bought a modern Seiko 5 Sport.
This is my high school graduation gift in 1972! I still have it, it runs well. Certainly looks better than how you started, and of course not as good as how you finished.
I'm amazed at watching this. For someone to know how to disassemble a watch with all of the tiny pieces, and reassemble it . I could never remember where each part went

Excellent job! Recently a friend asked me to look at a non-running Seiko 5 he had purchased on ebay; the case was in excellent condition and the caseback indicated a 7s26 movement. Upon opening the case much to my dismay there was a 7009a movement in a terrible state, much like yours: glue on the dial, rust everywhere, chipped hole jewels, bent pivots, restaffed incorrectly, et al... alas the movement required more parts than my friend wanted to invest in (my labor was free).
