I grew up in 60's-70's with a stay at home mom. We had a meat, starch, & two veggies on our Dinner plates. At the end of the week my mother would take the leftover veggies & make "clean out the fridge " soup. Add some potatoes, carrots, maybe onions. Never the same soup twice. It taught me how to cook & not waste food. Thanks for the memories. Love watching you & the Mr.
I’m going through my potatoes & starting to process them. I blanched them, used my slicer & chopper to cut them into uniform pieces & dehydrated them. I’m making up dry soup mixes & vacuum sealing the packs. Takes up a lot less space in my pantry. Makes great emergency food too.
He's going to be 'ripping them' will all those onions! woo-hooo! Love the name of the soup. "clean my freezer" Soup. You're really a family person! Pretty cool.
This was good to see all the meals you can make using up all the stuff that can gets lost in the freezer! Cleaning up the freezer feels good! Thanks Renea!
I do the garlic pucks like you do but I also do carrots and tomato paste. I like to add the carrots into my spaghetti sauce. It offsets the acidity of the tomatoes and gives it little more veggies that my grands don't know is in there. I do the tomato paste like that because I always end up with some leftover even when I get the small can. This way I can get the bigger can which is cheaper and no waste.
Hi Renea!!! That was nice you made some meals for your Son. I see you used frozen meat that you thawed. I never knew you could do that. I never unthawed meat then re froze it...Nice Video!!!...🦋
Mr Wayna reminds me of my hubby 😂. A while back I had surgery and he went grocery shopping 😵💫 for me. I wanted a bag of sweet potatoes that was on sale. Well, he came home with 1 sweet potato, the biggest sweet potato I’d ever seen. It was enormous, he must have dug around the whole dang display to find it. I didn’t say a thing, just thanked him for shopping. Now when he goes to the store for me, I take pictures of the things I need and text it to him😂😂. No substitutions allowed 😂😂
I need to make soup from my small bags also. Yours looks delicious. I love getting the first taste when I make it to see if it needs anymore seasoning. All your meals look great. Happy Valentines Day.
My dad was one of 13 kids. He would tell me about “Ice Box Scrapin’s” soup made w all the leftovers from the week. He said it didn’t matter what was in it, it was always good.
Hi Renea and John! God love you for remembering me, I really appreciate it. I am a garden and kitchen girl and I just get so excited when you put a video up. I’m late watching today because I had to take my brother to town for an appointment, they found some spots on his lungs. You need one of those grabber things to reach things, I’m short too. Thank you for everything you do. I hope you and John have a blessed day!
How is Tracey havent seen her is ages.hope she is well.. I make a pantry soup open pantry and just toss in a pot delish brought up in country and we had to make due woth a big family pot of soup lasted a few good meals
Soup is so good for you too. That soup is nutrient dense, protein, low fat with some collagen that’s great for our arthritic joints! My husband isn’t a soup eater (EXCEPT my gramma’s ham & bean soup with fried dough. But that’s mostly for the dough. Which I make & can every January)
@@bettywhittington9654 to make fried dough, you make a basic white bread recipe(or buy frozen dough if you don’t make bread) let it raise, punch it down, press it out flat, heat up an inch of oil(I use peanut oil for frying), slice strips of dough, stretch them a bit, fry til brown on one side, turn, brown on the other side, drain on paper towels. Most of them are salted for soup dipping. Dessert dough, I put cinnamon/sugar, sugar or powdered sugar in paper lunch bags & drop the dough right those & shake them. This is an old school recipe. A full recipe makes a full giant stock pot full of soup, using 10-11 pounds of beans & all starts with my leftover Christmas ham. We always buy a big ham, knowing we only use a quarter of it. Everyone looks forward to ham & bean soup with fried dough baskets I make up to share. I can the first 5 quarts. Sometimes 10. So we have some year round.
Great freezer meal ideas. I love to watch this while having my morning coffee. You are a great inspiration. I need to get up that way again and g to the Bargain Barn and restock my spices in my pantry. Love that store.
Hahaha! Mr husband is so funny. My husband is tired of taking things back. He now calls me and reads the package to me. So he doesn’t have to take it back or eat it himself.😂🤣😂
I have the OPPOSITE problem with my husband. When I send him for something that’s on sale, he gets one. I NEVER buy 1 of anything on a good sale! That’s how you build a pantry. You pick up 6 cans of tomato soup when they’re on sale, etc. A few things at a time. I(like Renea) have bought in bulk most of my life at the best deals & know how to save a ton of money. My son, though, he was raised right. When he was 9, a friend of mine saw him in the chip aisle & asked him what he was doing. He said “trying to figure out which sale is better”.
Your story about the fat with mustard took me back to my dad. My mom would make beans with ham hocks in it. She would peel the big piece of fat with the skin on it and my dad would put it between 2 slices of homemade bread with a big bunch of mustard! He loved it. He never had to fight anyone for it either! Lol
Hi Renea!!! Thats nice you made some meals for your Son. I didn't know you could thaw frozen meat then re- freeze it again. I have never done that. Nice Video!!!...🦋
I sent my husband to the store to get Choboni less sugar vanilla and cinnamon yogurt. He comes back with zero sugar vanilla. I can’t eat sugar free so i said ok buddy you better start eating.I also sent him for the cheddar cheese snap crackers two bags .he comes back with one cheddar one jalapeño cheddar. So I hear ya. Haaaaaaa love your video
I think I might have missed it but the bags you were putting together for your what at size. Sorry if this is a repeat question. I always love your ideas and this is an awesome way to meal prep for me.
You quit being mean to Mr Wayno , he thought he was doing a good Reed 😂, have him to call from now on before buying ,then he wont get a tongue lashing ❤😂😅
I ❤ your meals, now that soup 🍲 you made yummmmmmmy
I love how you take care of your family and friends. You also take care of others too. Bless you for that.

Hahaha! Laughing a little bit at Mr Wayna this morning! He's such a sweetheart, but NO substitutions when we ask for something specific! 🥰

Loved your delicious looking pot of chicken veggy soup. I love to make soups and casseroles. 😊

They say the hands are your best tools when mixing stuff.

Terrific video. You are an inspiration!
I love this. I try to label all items but the mystery freezer items can be fun to use once thawed and identifiable.
I love field peas with corn bread.

What is fried dough? Is it like dumpling's?
