I add more almond flour and use ground flax, cook it in a deep bowl in the microwave, remove, stir, then cook it about 40 seconds more and transfer it to a smaller bowl. I don't add vanilla or protein powder. I top it with shaved, toasted almonds, blueberries or other berries, add unsweetened almond milk and two packets of Stevia/Monkfruit. I make a whole container of the dry ingredients so I don't have to mix it up every day.

I can't begin to tell you how amazing this recipe is. I work out every morning before I break my fast. At that point nothing really satisfy my hunger or my wish list of foods. This did. the ONLY change I made was that i added a little cinnamon. Thank you, Autumn. GAME CHANGER!

I totally love this recipe!! I tried it! I added an extra tablespoon of almond flour. Yess it does give me that “oatmeal” experience. What I omitted was the protein powder. I did use the Greek yogurt-added a little more. I didn’t need to add sugar with the berries. I used frozen strawberries 🍓!! So good! Yumm! Thank you!! 🤗

It all started back in January of 2018, when my youngest daughter, Alma, began to have seizures. This occurred three months after we moved from Sweden to Spain. To seek medical help for Alma, my wife and two daughters had to return to Sweden. It took nearly four months for the doctors to determine that Alma was suffering from glucose transporter type 1 deficiency syndrome. The doctors told us that there were only two ways to treat GLUT1 deficiency syndrome. Either, we had to treat Alma’s condition via medication - or we could put her on a ketogenic diet. And so, after a ton of research on keto diet I found an amazing book, Alma started eating keto. Time went by and Alma got used to her new diet. She’s feeling amazing now and has normal glucose levels.

I was skeptical because I love hot cereal (oatmeal, cream of wheat, etc.) in the winter months. But I was desperate to find an alternative because, after eating it since I was a kid, oatmeal gives me heartburn. I've tried organic and gluten free--still heartburn. Anyway, this is delicious!! I am now obsessed. Thank you for sharing this with us!

Yay for this recipe and the helpful information! Just concerned that heating these precious seeds will reduce their nutrients, especially since Omega-3 fatty acids are sensitive to heat, as far as I know. Would it work to just heat the almond flour with plant milk first to make the base, then add the chia, flax, and hemp seeds afterwards? 🤔

Hello Autumn, love watching your videos. I was wondering if you have an opinion about grinding up flax and chia seeds? Do you think we absorb more of their nutrients if they are ground vs. Whole? I use a Vitamix for my smoothies and realize everything does get pulverized. I just noticed you always use whole. Just curious about your thoughts. Sorry if you already did a video regarding the subject.

ummm I TRULY thought this would be gross. However, I am now obsessed with the taste and texture. I've experimented with the added fruit component a teensy bit (banana and pb). My favorite thing is how amazingly satiated I feel when I eat this and how much my stomach loves it. My gut is clearly happier when I'm breaking my fast with this. Seriously ya'll. I am SHOOK by this. I saw this and wanted to try it but was confident my sweet tooth would not love this unsweetened option. Plus I am an Overnight OAT FREAKKKKK so I felt ready to scoff at this "bird food". If bird food tastes and feels like this? strap some wings to my back because I'm converted.

It does not contain protein powder and I have not tried to add yoghurt. It is however very expensive. This will be much cheaper with a great boost of protein from the powder and yoghurt. I just stumbled on your channel a couple of days ago and made this recipe today. OMG, it is delicious. It was so good I shared it with a friend who eats a lot of oatmeal.

Thought I was never going to get to eat oatmeal again until I tried this recipe and I LOVE it Two Questions. 1) do you have a nutritional preference on brown vs golden flax seed and 2) do you get the same benefit from whole vs ground flax seed?

I’d love to try this, just don’t like yogurt at all. I’ll skip the yogurt and add more protein powder. Thanks ☺️

Wondering about the flax seed, do they benefit the body when eaten whole and not grinded?

Do you know how many net carbs it is? It seems like it would be on the high side of keto? I react badly to blueberries, have you tried with raspberries?

Thank you for this video which I just found after sending you a message regarding alternatives to porridge! This might sound bizarre but I have put on weight just this week after incorporating porridge in my routine, and it has caused me stomach issues as well. I know that it works for a lot of people, and it is super popular in the country where I live now, Sweden, but really it just does not work for me so I am elated to have seen your video and I will try this tomorrow. I will also cook the blueberries and coconut oil together with the seeds, I did not understand the point to cook them separately, thanks for your time and dedication to helping others

I made this today and it was great! I would call it more "breakfast porriage" than mock oatmeal. Either way, it was good. I didn't have berries, so I ate it "plain" and it actually had a banana-esk flavor going on somehow. I enjoyed it!
