It still baffles me that there are still people who don't think a rice cooker is worth the investment, but won't bat an eye when it comes to buying a toaster. A toaster can ONLY be used on slices of bread of a certain size, and can ONLY be used on two of them at a time. You might as well use a pan to toast those two pieces of bread yourself. A rice cooker is way more versatile since it's essentially a cooking pot and is easy to clean once you're done.
to be honest, a good rice cooker typically cost more than a 2-bread toaster 😂 but what you said is true. Chefslabo-san seems to use an intelligent rice cooker, which saves a lot of time and work, too, but slightly costlier than the most basic rice cooker.
I love how you explained why you did each step. Super easy to follow video and final result looks great, I’m thinking of making this to serve over some stir fried noodles 😎
Thanks so much for this awesome recipe and video/descriptions. Well done! Love the assorted action figures too. Pretty cool. I just bought a nice rice cooker (to replace a basic one) and I plan to make this meal this weekend. Cheers!

Chef Labo, I can't thank you enough for making these rice cooker recipes! It has changed my life 😄 now I can prepare these delicious meals in the comfort of my own home. May I ask why the salmon skin was removed? Because I always eat the salmon skin together with the meat ありがとうございます!
I just made this yesterday in my 5.5 cup Zojirushi rice cooker with Micom Fuzzy Logic. I halved the amount of salmon as it wouldn't fit 660g... I used Thai jasmine rice instead of sushi rice, and I used the Quick Cook function which took 45 mins... but a bit of the rice and diced broccoli stem came out a bit crispy. Overall it was still a decent meal and fed 4 adults. Next time I might try it with the White Rice cooking setting which is 60 mins long. It was my very first attempt making a one pot meal in a rice cooker though, so I think it was a decent result and not at all a flop. Definitely will be making more rice cooker meals in future!
If you directly microwave raw salmon, it probably will smell a bit. If you meant that microwaving this meal prep, I didn’t feel any smell from them😃 By the way, I used thawed frozen salmon, but there was no bad smells at all👍
I’m sorry I didn’t try with other cooking pot 😅, so I cannot guarantee. But using a pot like how you normally cook rice will probably work fine (I suppose) 👀

Why not use sesame oil to make the rice glisten. Sesame oil is richer and healthier than butter.

I didn’t see salmon scales removed. Skin-on salmon that I buy locally is not scaled. Should I remove and discard the skin before cooking the salmon.
If you want to 😃 I on purposely skipped that process for you to feel that this recipe isn't too hard. But still came out great!!👍
I'd definitely remove the skin if the scales aren't removed! otherwise it gets very uncomfortable.
Looks great! You should have left the skin on the salmon though. It's full of nutrition, not to mention it's delicious!
Was it 34 minutes in the rice cooker
No I just filmed that scene few mins later. It was 37 mins with my rice cooker. But use regular white rice mode on yours👍

What about chicken breast instead?
Yes you can. Just keep warm the cooker 10-15 mins after cooking if the breast was very thick 👍
Nice, looks delicious. You don't need to specify servings for male or female though, just say 4-5 servings! 😊
Nothing wrong with the specificity either
