That really means a lot man! Really stoked to have your support. I wondered if I might get some negative reactions to this vid as it's a popular knife... but it's just how I see it! Also, good to hear you like the music, am testing it out. 🙏🤜🏻
I've got a similar model (same blade, but the raw aluminum handle) that I don't carry due to local knife laws, but my $0.02 gleaned from others owners is that the Böker AK was designed first and foremost as a user. The tolerances are intentionally a little loose, so that no matter how much mud/grit/grime gets in action, it will still fire and lock up every time.
Hey, thanks for watching and for commenting! I had not heard that about the tolerances, very interesting. I do know people use the heck out of these so that very well may be the case. Thanks again!!
The reason it's named the Kalashnikov is because of how low cost it is. Made of cheaper materials and cost affective but still useable, just like the AK's of the gun world. The high tolerances (the wobble and stuff) mimics the AKs tolerances where if something were to get into the "action" it would still operate. As an AK guy these are actually really nice selling points to me.
Thanks to you (and the City of New York) for showing me the error of my ways. Was eying one with a black Tanto blade and viewing all the hype on the various handles they offer and how long the knife has been around.
A new fan and subscriber here... I had considered this when looking for a heavy EDC but have not jumped on it yet. This helped my decision and I am leaning to the RAT 1 that I wanted anyway. There are so many good budgets for $30-40 now. Thanks!!
Awesome! I'm so stoked to have you along for the ride! Yeah, unfortunately I just am not a fan of this particular Böker. The RAT 1 on the other hand is an amazing heavy duty knife and value. I recently broke the tip on mine (pretty bummed) but it is still my go to hard worker. Thanks again for watching!!
I think it's a nice looking budget knife and definitely an eye catcher but I don't like the fact it's AUS8 steel, not the highest quality but okay if you use it for everyday normal tasks but its not the most durable and as you said there is a fair amount of play in the blade. To get a high quality, reliable, automatic, your gonna pay some bucks. I checked out the, Buck Automatic and it looks sweet and I'm sure a high quality knife with high quality steel; but it is a hefty price at around $170 bucks but, sometimes you have to pay for quality. Thank you for the review. 👍
Thanks for checking out the review. This knife wasn't really for me, but I'm glad you love yours. To each there own, that's the fun of the hobby. Take care.
Ha! I can agree with that. It's got a fun factor for sure... just could use some better execution... but it's also not that expensive I guess. Fun counts though!! Thanks for checking out the video!!
@@christianhaykus452Ha! That's awesome! Didn't figure MC would even know my tiny channel existed. He's a super friendly guy, I've watched him for a long while, has awesome knives too. Well I'm really happy to have you here as well.
It seems you don't appreciate field worthy knives Kalashnikov knives are a real diamond in the rough these knives have more than proven them selves extremely reliable well worth their weight in gold the knife you EDC and when needed for unexpected emergencies or tasks that arise you at the end of the day will utter to your self thank God I didn't leave the house this morning with out my Boker kalashnikov Sincerely BEN
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate it. This blue knife is actually virtually new, made to look distressed, I purchased it new that way and have used it very little, for the reasons I mention. Maybe I just got a bum one.
Ha! To each their own I guess. I'm just not a fan of these knives, but they also aren't very expensive, so there's that. Thanks for checking out the review. Be well.
Well said. Definitely a fan of your channel! (underdog_edc).
P.S. your BG beat is dope.

Some people really love theirs. I'm just not a fan, at all. Thanks for checking it out!
I've had one for about 3 years no side to side play but has up and down play. It is snappy and nice weight.

You will love the OKC RAT 1 or 2.

Best Damn pocket knife I ever had ! I give them a 10 for the money ! Buy one, you will be happy !

I actually had this exact model, I sold it a few years ago and miss that color blue! Great auto for the money but I never liked the pocket clip.
I live in the People's Republic of California so no automatics over 2 inches, yeah... great quick review though.
Another great video, I agree, not a well made knife at all. It's a "get your first auto" knife and that's about it.
Exactly. I still keep it around, but not sure why. Lol. Thanks again for the support man, really kind of you.
It's more of a fun knife for me. The knife definitely isn't high quality I do completely agree. But damn, its fun to play with.

Subpar for Boker.Good review
Agreed, I've handled some of their other knives, which are far better... look forward to having a few on the channel soon. Thanks for watching!!
Great video! Thanks for your thoughts on the Kalashnikov!
Lots of folks love their's... just not for me I guess. Thanks for checking out the vid!
I disagree, I own one in white and have experienced no problems. The blue one on your video looks pretty beat up! Don't blame BOKER!

@@mildmannerededc you must have because mine works perfectly!
Literally read and watch nothing but good reviews about the knife and I find your video saying not that good. Lol

Hit or miss?? You’re about 10 years late to the party lmao
