I watched about 40 minutes of highlights on him today. 2019-2022 and I love it. One thing that really popped out of the screen was his ability to make plays with his feet and throw dots on the run. Let’s go who dat nation!! Welcome Derek Carr!!
From a Raiders fan he’s good on his feet when we wants to be but other then that he will not try to extend a the play and is scared to get hit coming from his past injury where he broke his ankle

Raider fan here! He has way better highlights than this, but this is a good highlight that shows a true pocket passer. He DOES have legs but no lateral agility. He can take control and call audibles too. He’s the best QB the raiders have ever had and just played behind a bottom 5 defense except for when we played under Jack Del Rio, who was more defensive minded, drafting Khalil Mack in first round. I swear we put up 24-30 points a game easily, however our defense can’t stop a nose bleed. Derek Consistently bailed us out of deficits and has the most OT and comeback wins currently. It just sucks he literally has NOTHING to show for it except two 1st round playoff exits. Raider nation did not want to lose him and our fan base is divided once again. Y’all take good care of him and keep building defense. Derek made no-name receivers look like Jerry Rice at times. He brings the best out of his WRs

@@edwinramirez9355when Raiders gave Carr a decent team, he balled out. Unfortunately they almost never gave him a decent team, it was always terrible. Every time they got close to having a good team, they'd start a new rebuild. Carr is a franchise QB who was stuck on a perennially rebuilding team. Easily a top 10 QB, just got held back by some really bad teams.

I have been a die hard Raider fan since the womb. I was very fortunate to live in Gulfport MS in 2006 right after the storm. I called the south my home for almost a decade. Been to many Saints games. Wore my Raider gear every game. The city of New Orleans will always be near and dear to my heart. Glad to see someone else mentioning Shaheed because he underrated asf to me he has been making bigger plays with less time than olave and that's not taken anything away from olave because he a baller. Him olave and don't know what's gone happen with Kamara but if we get a good enough rb. It's going to open up alot on the field. Even players like Calloway will get open with a qb like Carr.

Dude has all the tools A QB needs when it comes to his hands… his legs be kinda shaky sometimes when under pressure tho. Lacks a little on creativity in the Redzone too.. He will rely on his Oline and HB’s for that. Carr was an MVP candidate once.. it was the same year when he had a top 10 oline and top 20 defense. Same year when Khalil mack became the first player to be a PB at two different positions.
Like all the other Raiders fans here, we all miss him and are rooting for him to do well in NOLA.

What everyone fails to realize is Carr made ordinary receivers look like stars. When they left the raiders what happened to Crabtree? Holmes? Roberts ? Agholor ? Cooper ? Cook ? They all fizzled out !

Carr's got loads of weapons ahead of him: Michael Thomas (if he can stay healthy), Taysom Hill, Alvin Kamara (if he'll still play in the NFL, prior to his incident), Rashid Shaheed, Chris Olave, Jarvis Landry, and Juwan Johnson!
But with the best receiver in the league, the best RB, top 3 slot receiver, and top 3 TE he lead the league in interceptions and eventually got benched. Good luck Saints. He's your problem now.

That 63-79 record is really misleading...the two seasons that sink his record are 2014 and 2018. Raiders went 3-13 and 4-12 in those seasons with the 32nd ranked defense in both years. Dead last. Take those two years away and he's 56-54. Not GREAT, but good enough to win with the right circumstances. That record is even more impressive when you factor in the defense rankings those others seven years: 22nd, 20th, 20th, 24th, 30th, 26th, and 26th. You're not going to find another QB who won big in the face of those kinds of bad numbers. Saints fans, you should know this first hand. Drew Brees from 2012-2016 was putting up HUGE NUMBERS and the Saints were 31st, 28th, 32nd, and 31st. They went 7-9 those four seasons. The one year (2012) they had a top 5 defense, you guys were 11-5. But for five years, Brees was 39-41. Scoring 400 points each season. Derek is what I call a 'mirror' QB. He is a reflection of the roster surrounding him. He gets some players, he can be a top tier guy and win games. You give him a dogshit roster, he's not winning.

The Saints are giving something that the Raiders. That is balance on both sides of the field. Who knows what the Saints can do with Derek Carr and a defense. We didn’t deserve Carr but I’m glad he’s on a team who will build around him.

I actually like the signing as a Saints fan. 1. Carr played for the Raiders, they’ve been dis functional for YEARS. You bring in a coach that never believed in him from the jump, organization constantly changing coaches. Out of all that at one point was a dark horse for MVP until he got hurt.
2. If you look at last year alone, the Raiders were up majority of all their games, that’s the defense fault they gave up the lead, the Saints have a way better defense that will only get better and younger.
3. Saints overall has way better culture in the lockroom, you never hear no one throwing anyone under the bus for things. We were on a losing streak last year with the offense playing like shit and defense playing their butts off and outside looking in never complained, they put it on their shoulders to win games (not to say they weren’t frustrated at times)
4. Carr brings stability to our offense, I’m excited. I hope we build around Carr and have a great free agency and draft. My expectations is we win the south and move forward from there.

Check the highlights. Team had like 3 or 4 fumbles I think and easily caught balls that were tipped up to the defense. Carr would get the team driving and then someone would fumble or drop easily caught balls

Now they just need to get us some receivers and a different coach who isn't so run oriented to where every team knows that's what we're going to do. They have squandered Taysom's ability by putting him in and 90% of the time it's an RPO to the right and every other team knows that's what he's going to do! Make adjustments in those areas and we might have a winning season again.

You would be hard pressed to find a better locker room leader than Carr. Never made excuses, always shouldered the blame despite no one building a team around him. Every time he started to build relationships the Raiders shipped off those players. This last season despite being his worst, his receivers couldn't catch to save their lives even though the balls hit them on the hands yet he took responsibility for all of it. Saints are getting a great player. I guarantee you will win a SB with him before my Raiders win one with the toxic administration they run. McDaniels only won because of Bellichick and Brady. He played Carr to get Adams then threw him under the bus by not opening the whole playbook and trusting him. Ziegler sat there and lied on that show and you could see it in his face. Some commitment to excellence. I will always root for my Raiders, but I am rooting for Carr. He deserved better from them
I love Carr, but a lot of these shots are from 2016, prior to his injury when he was unstoppable. Hes never been the same since.

If you like QBs that give up on plays and constantly go 3 & out, Carr's your guy! Enjoy watching him check it down and turn the ball over too much. You think the Raider defense was at fault for Carr's win/loss record, but the reality is he's a barely avaerage game manager that lacks stones. Saints fans will find out soon enough they have Andy Dalton 2.0. Enjoy!
