As a Romanian I am suprised of the following things: 1. Elderly people from Romania who actually speak English 2. No one mentioned Russia even though we are in so many politic conflicts with them 3. Romanians having the most diverse answers from this whole series
I think most say from their bad job experience abroad (obviously Western Europe) other than historical rivalries which are more propagated from politicians and ultras groups, rather than people's effecting daily life here.

As (I guess) one of the few Greeks that have travelled to Romania extensively, I have to say that the Romanians are some of the most hospitable people in the world. Physically the country is AMAZING!

i'm a romanian and i have to tell you we treat greeks different because many romanians work there my mother included but most romanians are racist though i'm not i have met many people like that it's mostly because of gypsies and our religion romanians hate black people, they treat anybody of a different religion as if he was satan himself we are also very rude to each other if only you knew how many curse words we have i can't even say them all it's too much of a hassle romanians hate each other a lot we are i think the 5th country in terms of accohool drank per person dunno for sure we ussualy hide our malicious intent while we talk behind someones back older people do that a lot though younger people do as well just recently this week while i was playing TF2 i had this kid cursing me because i was playing anime music he was insulting my mother, me saying i was 10 years old it was just a horrible experience so just don't trust romanians you need to be very careful around them

This Transylvania problem is so last century :) Is just a piece of land, it's a nice place, but Hungary also has nice places, I don't think the life of Hungarians would improve if they had Transylvania. I visited Hungary a few times and I loved it, the food is delicious (I think every Romanian would say this). They don't need Transylvania to be an awesome country. I think this "hate" is mostly coming from politics, but I hate politics and politicians are idiots.

I doubt that most Romanians would say Hungary more than would say Russia (which means quite a hell, historically and even nowadays and way more threatening to our security than Hungary, which we both are in EU and NATO, besides politics of Orbán and historical relations). So even myself, even though I do appriciate Russian culture, but not to been fond of it, I don't like their narrow mentality (unfortunately similar to some of ours) what shitty influence let over all Eastern Europe during communism (at least to appriciate that Hungary has let Transylvania be like Transylvania we knew today, in cities, culture and heritage, while being in Austria-Hungary), but I would say none, because politics don't represent truely most of people's mindset, not even one of most harshest regimes, even though it left scars and traces over generations and is still visible, unfortunately.

My grandfather was born in Constanta but he is 100% Bulgarian and was driven out of there due to historical events that took place, but this has never made me hate Romania or Romanians. It might be harder to find a job, and if you find one you'll get lowballed on the salary. Eg. My sister speaks perfect German and English (on a native level) and lives in Düsseldorf, but got offered €5 less per hour than her ethnic German colleague who can only speak German (Job had English as an advantage and they are both on the same skill level). I have an agency and I try to hide my ethnicity as well when speaking to foreign clients, to not make it to hard to negotiate a fair price. It can literally cost me thousands of euros to let the other party know where I live

I wish Western Latin countries had a stronger cultural interaction with Romania. i'm a romanian and i have to tell you we treat greeks different because many romanians work there my mother included but most romanians are racist though i'm not i have met many people like that it's mostly because of gypsies and our religion romanians hate black people, they treat anybody of a different religion as if he was satan himself we are also very rude to each other if only you knew how many curse words we have i can't even say them all it's too much of a hassle romanians hate each other a lot we are i think the 5th country in terms of accohool drank per person dunno for sure we ussualy hide our malicious intent while we talk behind someones back older people do that a lot though younger people do as well just recently this week while i was playing TF2 i had this kid cursing me because i was playing anime music he was insulting my mother, me saying i was 10 years old it was just a horrible experience so just don't trust romanians you need to be very careful around them

This Transylvania problem is so last century :) Is just a piece of land, it's a nice place, but Hungary also has nice places, I don't think the life of Hungarians would improve if they had Transylvania. I visited Hungary a few times and I loved it, the food is delicious (I think every Romanian would say this). They don't need Transylvania to be an awesome country. I think this "hate" is mostly coming from politics, but I hate politics and politicians are idiots.

I doubt that most Romanians would say Hungary more than would say Russia (which means quite a hell, historically and even nowadays and way more threatening to our security than Hungary, which we both are in EU and NATO, besides politics of Orbán and historical relations). So even myself, even though I do appriciate Russian culture, but not to been fond of it, I don't like their narrow mentality (unfortunately similar to some of ours) what shitty influence let over all Eastern Europe during communism (at least to appriciate that Hungary has let Transylvania be like Transylvania we knew today, in cities, culture and heritage, while being in Austria-Hungary), but I would say none, because politics don't represent truely most of people's mindset, not even one of most harshest regimes, even though it left scars and traces over generations and is still visible, unfortunately.

This is refreshing to hear, usually romanians try to hide their ethnicity and the only time you hear from romanians abroad it's when they've done something illegal.
@Hwvsvahsv Whvwqhbw Discrimination mostly. I've heard the "romanian" label used in a lot of derogatory contexts. It might be harder to find a job, and if you find one you'll get lowballed on the salary.
Eg. My sister speaks perfect German and English (on a native level) and lives in Düsseldorf, but got offered €5 less per hour than her ethnic German colleague who can only speak German (Job had English as an advantage and they are both on the same skill level).
I have an agency and I try to hide my ethnicity as well when speaking to foreign clients, to not make it to hard to negotiate a fair price. It can literally cost me thousands of euros to let the other party know where I live

Hello from Portugal! Never been to Romania, our (sometimes forgotten, unfortunately) Latin cousins from the East. The language is beautiful and sounds so nice to my ears. I wish Western Latin countries had a stronger cultural interaction with Romania. There are quite a few Romanians (and Moldovans) living here and I'm always impressed by how quickly they learn Portuguese and pronounce it well too!

Sometimes it’s good, and sometimes it’s bad, but unless a country asks for help, especially if people’s lives and/or well being are at stake, I wish the US would mind its own business. I think the same goes for any country that intervenes in other’s affairs.
I dont agree with that fellow. he was just a typical anti-western/anti-liberal/pro-dictator ship idiot. just in case you didnt notice a typical pattern throughout the 20ties century and later: the only once who ever are/were against us interventions were the supporters of dictator ships, totaliarian regimes or ideologies - and ppl who believed their propaganda. if he really was against wars then he should be against wars from dictator ships/autoritarian countries in the first place (which are always 100% wrong wars). but this is - like always - not the case which is why he didnt mention Russia or Erdogan. so it is just propaganda. and you should just take it as that. the invasion of Russia in the Ukraine is btw also a result because to many in the West started to believe the same nonsense which encouraged antiliberal elements (not just Putin, but also before that already Erdogan etc.). The US had actually a relatively strict isolationistic politics after getting independence back then. what happened was not more peace but WW1, WW2, the cold war (with masses of anticapitalist/socialist/communist/islamic dictator ships. Northkorea and many others are just the rest of such mistakes - mistakes from antiamericans/antiliberals/antiwesterns! dont forget that the west in general never attacked a democracy. so, again, who were always the ones who were against that?
