D'Auch, Southwestern France

D’Auch is the historical capital of Gascony. About 80km west of Toulouse and about 1hr by train (plus about a 20 min walk to the city centre top of the hill).
An attractive medieval centre and it is the main square, the Place de la Republique, which is at the heart of the old town, is the best place to start your visit. Auch was formerly a seat of power for Armagnac’s counts.
