- Monsuno was an interesting concept that tried its hand at being a cartoon, a trading card game an action figure line and more, but maybe just a handful of years too late from when the other properties in the same space were dominating and claimed their stay. Today, let's take a look at Monsuno to see how it tried to stand out and be different, what it was all about and what happened to it.

Thanks so much for watching! Did you ever give Monsuno a chance, whether it be the show itself or the card game?
I forgot this existed I thought this was a fever dream to be honest 😂
Yea one of my favorite show back in the day when I was in 1st grade!!!
BTW, Thank you for uploading this video
Anyway, Please do Immortal Grand Prix (IGPX )
I could never get into this show the voice acting was just terrible.
I did watch some of the show but I never finished it but I kinda do want to go back and watch it
Monsuno is kind of like "Yu-Gi-Oh!" in a way, Egypt for the latter and Outer Space for the former.
THANK YOU,I had to google “ice crystal polar bear cartoon”to find this show
I did the same thing several years ago😂
Idk the opening theme burned the title into my head
I lost it and just had no clue how to find it back then forgot so childhood memory retrieved
Lmaoo it be like that
Lol same. I remember like a episode of it? And thought I just imagined the whole thing.
I definitely could see someone who grew up with this show eventually trying to reboot or continue the show.
Im going to do all in my power to reboot it, have to study up on story telling elements and expanding my imagination tho,
Im so excited tho
This truly just unlocked one of those deep memories. I adored Monsuno as a kid - loved the animation, story, characters, everything. It felt so cool and I wish it continued for longer/was expanded upon more but am grateful for what was created. It was a lot of fun.
I feel old if you were a kid in 2012. 😭. Time is going too fast
@@statesminds Aw no I'm sorry. Time is truly flying by, I'm feeling it too. I wish I could say something to help you feel better. Well, if no-one's told you today - I want you to know you're ever so appreciated, talented and you brighten people's days. Hope you're doing well and wishing you the very best with everything going forward. 😊
It was refreshing, TV productions are so hit and miss how far they stretch their, admittedly big budget, that can be RELATIVELY not enough. Monsuno was better than I would have expected. I didn't really watch it but it hits a certain niche like Zoids, Kiba and Megaton Musashi.
wow same here i literally forget its name
Yeah 2012 was when I also started to watch these big series
This opening was great. Reminded me of Bakugan. Loved watching Monsuno and koved combining beasts and geology, kinda like Crystal Beasts from GX.
yep and it was made by Far East Movement which were pretty famous back then
@@symphonixbladesThese are guys who sang Like A G6.
@@primisimperator2189 indeed they were
@@primisimperator2189😦
Aside from Digimon and perhaps Bakugan, This is was the "Mon" show with the best original concept. The human characters were tolerated at best, but the monsters and their designs always amazed me. It's disgusting how it was practically forgotten.
I think Monsuno should have tried to break into the video game scene. The toys and card games weren't too enticing from what i remember, but this show could have made some pretty good games. And yes putting it on Nicktoons was pretty damning. I could never find the show when it was airing.
Nicktoons is literally a death sentence for cartoons
i loved spinning the toys they were so fun for me for some reason
in my country the toys were super popular
Monsuno was ahead of its time with Animation
I watch approximately a half episode of this show when it aired, but for whatever reason the polar bear and the main character were etched into my mind. I couldn’t find it on the internet, and decided to wait until you inevitability made a video about this show. Thank you, now I can stop wondering.
I was always so into these kinds of shows (Pokémon, Digimon, Monsuno, Bakugan, Redakai) but I never once bothered with or cared about the card games and toys. I think I had about 7 Bakugan and most of them were from the last season, even though I’d been watching from Season 2. There’s a special place in my heart for these shows though, wish some of them (like Monsuno) could have gone on longer :D
same redakai kind of reminded me of chaotik which wouldve been a really cool crossover
🤝 FELLOW REDAKAI ENJOYER
Also same I loved watching these kinda shows as a kid they definitely shaped my interest in media at least a little bit
Im literally so happy you talked about this. I watched monsuno as a kid, remembered it at the end of the 9th grade, developed a special interest for it and was in the fandom for a while on tumblr. What fascinates me the most about the show is its voice cast. Not only did it have cam clarke as chase, christopher smith as bren, karen strassman as jinja, keith silverstein as dax and kirk thornton as beyal, those were also the ONLY voice actors who worked on the show, meaning they also voiced the allies, side characters, villains etc. Karen strassman literally voiced EVERY SINGLE female character in the series. I liked the show and the effort put into it makes me like it even more, from the voices, the theme song thats sung by the same people who made "like a g6", all the way down to how entertaining it was for me as a child, and how weird it was that everybody used to love it and own merch of it but now it feels like it just disappeared off the face of the earth. And although it DEFINITLY had some problems(*cough cough MEDEA cough cough DOM PYRO*) its one of those shows i fondly look back at, and definitly one i'd like to watch with my friends during a cartoon marathon.
I like to believe all the card/monster type games take place in the same universe - kind of a like a MCU type deal, and they were all building up to an epic crossover we never got.
Great video, dude! 🌸
Think of it like the game vanguard; every monster or hero belongs to a certain tribe or kingdom from another world^^
@@aztecklover69that’s such a good idea!
Knowing the state of YuGiOh, they would absolutely solo. Some Digimon and Legendary Pokemon are the only things that might come close. Cool concept though
yet again Jordan has reminded me of a show I'd completely forgotten about
Honestly, monsuno needs more love than this. I love both the design of the characters and the story. They’re isn’t enough love for one of my many
favorite series. 😢😢😢
Yeah it needs more love
This was one of those shows that was always in the back of my mind but I could never remember much about it, even the name. One thing I hadn't forgotten was the theme song which slaps!
I still love and rewatch monsuno another one of my all time fav shows growing up
where do you watch it? i’ve been trying to find it online for years
Some episodes are available on RUclips but if not I can dm you see some websites on like insta or something
Im a huge fan of Monsuno and i was sad to see it go. Out of all the monster catcher shows out there, it will always hold a special place in my heart, even among Pokemon which i mostly have connections to.
i was obsessed with this show when it premiered and had so many of the toys. it has stayed in my mind this whole time and i was waiting for when you would talk about it. literally thought about it like last week...i wonder where mine are. hope i didn't get rid of them...
Oh my god, this was a tiny hidden fragment of my memory. Wow I loved this show as a kid
I was majorly into Monsuno when it was out. I drove myself crazy hunting for the toys and waiting for episodes.
I was on Deviantart with a former friend who was a huge fan of Chase. I say former because we had a huge falling out few years ago. Oh well ^^
Monsuno though I wish lasted longer cause it honestly was interesting
Why yall fall out?
@dgayle2348 I honestly don't know myself.
She had a mountain of reasons as to why. "I wasn't listening to her, I was trying to change her and not accept her..." I was pretty much the cause of everything in her mind.
But also she seemed to be in constant conflict with her father.
Thank you for these videos. They give me completed cartoons to watch. I’m currently watching my Slugterra thanks to one of your videos. I might watch this afterwards.
I do only because it came on after Avatar. Also I wanted to bring this up in the Bakugan video it is insane the amount of shows that try to catch that Beyblade, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokémon wave. B-Daman, Cardfight Vanguard, Future Card Buddyfight, LBX are just the few I can name off the top of my head.
Yeah I remember many of them. I think out of all of them B-Daman was the only one I watched full as it was pretty new that time. Also I used to think LDX was like a Gundam spin-off for kids or something cuz I only watched about 8 episodes one day in a hotel when I was a kid
i remember metabots filling that digimon/gundam vibe
B-DAMAN IS GOATED
I always wondered what happened to this series
I remember being really into Monsuno with it being one of the last shows I remember really being into on TV, my issue was the lack of availability of the product. No matter where I went I couldn't find Monsuno toys or anything to do with the TCG. In comparison everywhere I looked was selling Beyblades, Bakugan and such making them much easier to get into
I was that weird kid/pre teen that got into everything game-side, be it beyblade, yugioh, pokemon, bakugan... If it had a cool tv series and a fun game my friends and I could play after school, I gave it a try.
So yeah, Monsuno was definitely on my radar. I remember I had a few of the toys and watched the series, but after a while I just stopped seeing them in stores and Nick/Nicktoons stopped airing it, eventually my friends and I went onto other games and whatever I had was stored away in a box in my closet so I essentially forgot about it until I found a sealed toy in a Kohl's some time back in 2018. No clue why it was there four years after ending, but it was.
Kohls and Marshalls are the exact random place I would go to find this though😂
I loved Monsuno! I watched the show as it aired and really enjoyed it. I still have the toys/cards, the shirt they gave out at the events they did at malls, and I won one of the limited gold cores from a contest. The toys are kinda eh and gimmicky, but they were cute. I def need to rewatch this show!
I've seen this because i loved this show when i was younger. Even though i couldn't reliably watch because back then i didnt know how remote worked.
Yes, it was my favorite show to watch on Nicktoons.
Those were the days
I am so happy that you are making like these contents, cause there is one show that I cannot get out of my head but I remember vaguely! I hope I could see it here one day. So Keep up the Great content
BRO YES!!!!!!!! YOU'RE FINALLY TALKING ABOUT MY FAVORITE!!!!!!
I still collect these to this day, and dear God, the number of cards I have is insane. 😊
The fact that as soon as I see the thumnaiks a WAVE of nostalgia hitd me kinda speaks to how good the marketing towards kids actually was
The opening hit way to hard and i loved it!!!!
Far East Movement cooked ngl
I had the cards for this, they were actually pretty sick. They were all holographic and the attack cards were clear so you could overlay them with creatures to make new holograms.
Wait for real?
I have been trying to remember this show based on a handful of old memories but could never figure it it. But you just handed it to me on a silver plater. Thanks for making my day!
You don't know how long I have been searching for this show ever since I watched the pilot episode in 2014. The only thing I remember about this show is that its has a stupid name and a really cool polar bear. Ever since I got internet access in 2016, I've been tirelessly looking for "that one anime where the guy summoned a polar bear from a capsule" but google never deliver, and I thought I lost all hope, until this video shows up in my feed today. Thank you Fringe, you just made my holiday better.
This anime is always in my head😢❤
I recall the series kind of goes bad crazy with the plot, like the after they introduce the orange team and magical gear- I need to finish it one day
I was just a bit too old to start collecting a new kids thing, but I thought some of the monsuno were so cool! And I was definitely tempted to get these
Childhood memory unlocked, loved this show
The oppening was in my head been years and I couldn't remember from where I head heard it (I just watched 2 or 3 ramdom ep). Thanks for unlock such a old memory
This takes me back. I was real into Monsuno for a while, the combat was very entertaining and the designs were attractive, so it was easy to just watch. If I remember it correctly, I would put it maybe between Bakugan and Kaijudo for this genre, which is praise. Sadly, it seems to be lacking in memorability.
Seeing this reminded me of another short-lived toy series with an anime called "Scan2Go".
It was about kids going on a tour throughout space playing in toy car races with aliens in hopes of making the game famous enough to be popular on Earth or something.
I only ever saw 1 commercial for it, and I thought it looked fun. Can you talk about that series sometime soon?
It ran on nick for a while...had a ghost ship episoxe...and a planet trying to make a tourbament happen by having there planet a paradise....it was not...all i recall
I remember it on Cartoon network.@@trainman5675
I remember it now! That weird toy car race show. It was pretty interesting
To me it was the closest thing to Fil Barlow's Spectrobes that ever COULD exist, adn it did. I love Barlow's designs but they just wouldn't fly in a kids' collectible game, nevermind how far from reality that concept ever was from fruition anyway.
I also don't go for collectibles, my consumerism is more about witnessing madness like Big Guy and Rusty.
"Scan2Go" what and wwful branding though. I bet my mom loves the easy-to-use Scan2Go cashless registers.
Thanks so much for making this video! I loved this series on Nickelodeon! Totally fantastic! The monsters in this show were so unique and creative! This show was another series that I discovered on a day when I was home sick with a bad cold and any show that makes a day like that better or easier is a cartoon that I will always have a fondness for. Never got into the card game but I loved the show!
I never wanted to remember this show cause everyone I knew said I sounded like the guy with glasses in it. Thank you for cursing my existence with that memory.
One of the problems I had with it was when the guy with the glasses loses his Monsuno quickforce (it died), he acts upset but his facial expression was terrible and his voice sounds like ‘oh no Quickforce… anyway’. Not to mention he gets a new and improved version of said Monsuno soon after, with no repercussions whatsoever
You know this show does its job when all your thinking is “I can buy the toys I can buy the toys!”
I loved the show, and wished they either made a reboot, or someone made a fanmade series. I miss it.
Bruh core memory unlocked.
The show was easy for me to get into, i actually re-watched it last year and had a great time with, especially with the amazing the theme song. Unfortunately I never got into the game itself and was hoping for more to come from the property. I always thought an adventure game where you got to explore the world would have been cool.
Bro hit us with the nostalgia atom bomb with this one holy shit
This, Chaotic and Huntic were my favourites as a kid major memory unlocked
My First Thoughts when I saw this was: "That bear looks familiar" and the second I heard Nicktoons, I remembered EVERYTHING!
Unlocking memories god damn. This show was so cool its insane that I totally forgot it when YuGiOh and Pokemon are still such mainstays in my life
I remember getting into Monsuno when I was 12-14.
Come 2015, I sadly lost interest and sold off my entire collection.
(It's kind of a shame I did that though as I had Shadow Lock and a Japanese version of X-100 in there.)
I have been waiting for this episode for a long time, monsuno lives in my head rent free and I even still have some of the monsuno toys back from when I was a kid.
Yup I remember saying this is like all the other shows combined including the hidden gem “Huntik”
Bro, monsuno opening is FIRE
dude this was a huge memory unlocked wtf
The intro was epic✨✨
This unlocked a memory when I saw the video when scrolling RUclips. I had about two of these and I remember it being like Bayblade (which I loved) and Bakugaun with a Pokemon eske theme.
Wait… Remember Shinzo? That anime that is about genetically-altered creatures known as Enterrans take over Earth and rename it in their own image called Enterra. Now three Enterrans have to protect the last human in order to find the hidden sanctuary called Shinzo and restore the human race.
I've been having flashbacks of this particular show but kept forgetting its title. Thank you for making me remember.
I got a few wait remember videos ideas for you,
1. Zachbell or zachspell. It was a card game that involved puppets
2. Cornal & burnie, a show about a dogsitter who figures out the dog can talk.
I recently started rewatching this, and I still love it
I remember watching this show with a little on Netflix and never seen it again. I’ve been looking for years for the show, but couldn’t ever find it. Thank you so much for making this video.
One of the oldest memories I have is watching Monsuno while on vacation with my family when I was six
Ah, I’ve been trying to remember the name of this for a long time. All I could remember is that it was one of those Pokémon/YuGiOh knockoffs where the monsters were in tubes instead of cards.
The thing about the show that stuck in my mind all this time was the theme song 🔥🔥
OMFG I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SHOW FOR YEARS NOW I ONLY REMEMBERED A SINGLE EPISODE AND A TOY I HAD AND I FOUND IT NOW THANK YOUJ
This was really in the back of my head in vague memories about a cartoon show that I watched like a decade back. I didn't remember anything to even find it.
"Throwing something to get something power something something cartoon show"
That was the best description I could give. The only storyline I remembered was some bottlenecked movie type world ending story that leads to a hopeless scenario but turns out to be a simulation or something...
I finally decided to look up cartoon lists of specific channels in my country and almost gave up seeing the massive list on the Cartoon Network Wikipedia page but thankfully I checked up for the Nickelodeon subsidiary channel that streamed on my country's cable TV which had a higher chance having aired the show and I almost missed it but decided to checkout the sus titles without any image when you hover it and unfamiliar names, and I am glad it was the case since I would have probably ignored it as 2D Japanese cartoon.
The moment I saw the whole "Spin Beast Battle" on the wiki, I knew I found it and looking up at some footage the moment I saw those Slugterra type cylinder thingies I knew I finally found it.
Though I would have never expected it not to be some American 3D animated show...
Maybe I should watch it!
A couple months back, I was reminiscing about shows I watched as a kid with a friend. I remembered Monsuno being visually great and the theme went hard as a kid. Turns out the theme song does NOT hold up and I was pretty embarrassed when I played it on my phone 😅
Holy shit, I have been trying to remember this show forever. This was so satisfying, thank you.
I watched this cartoon in my childhood and completely forget about this until I seen your thumbnail😂
Don't know if I can still enjoy it but i will try.
wow and just yesterday i said to myself huh monsuno really used to be a thing and now this. thank you world
This show was a weird part of my childhood, a part I forgot years ago. I randomly found it òn TV in 2013, loved it, obsessed with it, it disappeared, and I 0r9babpy didn't notice and moved on cause I was 9. Weird...but still nostalgic
I was just watching this for free on Tubi a couple of days ago! Lol
As a younger man, I loved this show to the point of having a Monsuno as a fursona. God, this was a blast from the past.
amazing video, now all that’s left is Redakai and you’ll have covered my whole childhood
The way I’ve been looking for this show for YEARS omgggg
The eyepatch guy is literally just Ghetsis from Pokemon.
You’ve finally done it, you’ve unlocked the single deepest recess in my brain
I was so mad that Monsuno didn't catch on. It was really well put together and had plenty to offer.
Thank you for talking about this show. I may check it out!
2012 you say I do not remember this at all I'll have to check it out
I was waiting for this. I watched Monsuno when there was nothing else on the TV and it was an amazing serie, because it had everything I want: a good story, likeable characters, battle with colossal creatures and more. I didn't even know they made three seasons and I found out just now.
Also, I didn't know they made some toys and cards out of the Monsuno. The stores I went to didn't have any of them, either because they didn't sell enough or my country didn't want them.
This was my favorite show when I was about 7 or 8 years old glad you checked it out
omg thank you for unlocking my memory of that show
Dear god, you hit me in the childhood again. I still have the shifty kid version of the OP in my head.
"Feel the power (blah blah) per hour."
Or something like that.
I've always loved the show
I remember watching this show as a kid, and loved it. I couldn’t get into Pokémon or Yu Gi Oh series, but this I loved and was excited to watch. I don’t remember the cards or the toys as, well, I don’t remember ever seeing them on shelves, or I was at that age I knew somethings were too expensive for my parents and forgot about them.
I kinda forgot about this show until about 2019-2020 as I was going through a nostalgia phase and had a dream about the characters, and therefore went on a search to watch it all again. Beyal and Dax were my favourites, with Chase being the next favourites, I just didn’t like Bren and Jinja.
I loved and still miss monsuno. Issues be damned. I binged this show...
Can you do Wait… Remember SilverWing next? The show about Bats 🦇 that was short lived
I’ve never heard of the show but the monster designs look super cool. Unfortunate it didnt take off. I may still check it out tho if its streaming somewhere
we need this series to come back tbh
I remember seeing an episode but I never got a chance to fully watch it when it was airing. But I saw it Tubi and I decided to watch it and so far it is interesting also the theme song is a good
The array of memories that came to me when I saw the sub title are insane
Good lord this show was my childhood hyperfixation until I decided that I like Pokemon better and forgot about this forever
This is the first one of these where you asked if I remember it and the answer is "no". Thank you.
thank you i was looking for this anime every where you just did me a big favour thankyou again
Been years since I saw mention of Monsuno! I remember I used to have on original ipod touch when the show came out bought and downloaded on it so thank you for the memories!
