What is the purpose of that downward slanted ramp at the forward end of the flight deck?
That is to catch the bridle cable that launch the aircraft.
JRJunior8624 if you look carefully at 12:21, you’ll see the nets that catch the bridle cables after launching. That ramp and nets are properly known as Van Velm Bridle Arrestors.
