How to be able to apply track editor when inside game ??? I've downloaded the blank track and 3d treeset but I was confused when entering the game on blank track as nothing happened ...
@@nodus7853 Hi. I tried it and it´s calling still same error. Tried everything and I think I have to give up. Yes i checked the path 1000 times, and got blank file too right where it supposed to be. But...nothing changed... still error. Maybe this feature is not meant for everybody...
+Nicolai Elkjær right click the game in your desktop and click on properties then type in --editor in the first box from the top (don't forget a space) then open your blank track and click tab
I've got a Mac and I don't quite understand how to edit a track, is there any way I can use an external software such as google sketch up or something like that?
I know you won't answer this but do you have to use notepad++ in order to make the color of the dirt change because its only showing the stock dirt and sand. If you get to this thank you :)
I haven't gotten that far but I am guessing you can also import height maps ? Sorry if I am jumping the gun, I have no game making experience but I have plenty of 3d modeling in C4D and was a motion graphic artist for 10 years and had a good career till my MX injuries and opioid addiction got the best of me. I am clean 3 years tho and learn to forgive myself and others and love life again.
When I’m going to try to add the tile info I don’t get any different tiles they are all just white the stock one and one blue I even tried copying the tile info from the Yamaha test track to see if I get that dark dirt and I don’t. Also when I deleted everything in the billboard and statue file the billboards and statues didn’t go anywhere
did you find a solution for this? i'm having the same issue. i think it could have something to do with the files linked to it, not being in the folder. the tile info file has "@compound/" and i dont know where its taking from. i looked everywhere in the yamaha test track file he used and cant find it anywhere so im lost.
ik it doesn't really fit the track style but can you please put in an over under I'm trying to build a local track of mine that has one and I don't know how to do it
hey, i have problems with berms, they are realy sharp and i can't make them any smoother eaven by smoothing them out. it is inposible to ride them, how can i fix it?
+Sam Pedrick If you've named everything properly, then there shouldn't be an issue... mind sending us images of your notepad++ file and your decal and sky box's in the folder?
I got mx sim and it was working fine until it just started not spawning the track like I would start a new race and the track jumps and turns are like not there. What do I do?
one thing that needs to be covered is the terrain.hf file. to show people how to edit it to higher resolutions and such so their ruts/berms and such are not choppy and so sharp/jagged and are smooth like checkerz's ruts. thats something that needs to be done before the user starts making the track IMO if their going for a good quality track. im not 100% sure how to do it but checkerz does and idk how to get ahold of him to ask for specific details on it. but i think i have a semi basic grasp on it if you would want to learn the basics for a video, then have him go through and explain it to you later.
Dane Sabo did you understand what i mean at all and what the purpose of it is? or are you asking how to do it? ive just about got it figured out now, my ruts are butter smooth with 0 chop to them, you can really rail them now.
+Sneaky Kitty Gaming I'm going to make a tutorial on that once I have some time. Also how to "convert" a current track if you started out on a too low ground resolution.
+StorkenMXS But basically: The terrain.hf file values are: imagesize px/fit low high Imagesize means that the terrain.png, shading.ppm and shadingx2.ppm should be of this size. 9 = 1025px, 10 = 2049px. Those are the most common ones to use. PPM files can be opened and edited in photoshop. px/ft means that if this value is 1, 1px is going to represent 1 feet ingame, which is a good resolution. However the standard one is 2ft/1px. This means that a map that is 1025px is going to be 2050ft ingame, which results in lower resolution of the ground. Low/high are just what the max/min points are. White on the terrain.png is height, black is low. So a blank track has 0 0. Let's say you add a jump that's 10 feet tall, it will be 0 10. But these values are changed after using the editor automatically. The only time you need to worry about them is if you are making tracks in photoshop, but for the editor, the doesn't matter. So a blank track that uses 2049px terrain.png, shading.ppm and shadingx2.ppm can use a terrain.hf file looking like this: 10 1.000000 0 0 Hope that cleared it up a bit.
StorkenMXS thank you. what i found is 10 0.330000 on a 2049x2049 feels nearly perfect for a arenacross track/maybe supercross thats in a building. fairly small but ruts and bumps are so smooth. probably 10 0.430000 for a full size supercross with extra room.
