Purchased the Bike Plus back in June 2021. For the past couple of months I’ve been experiencing pedal crank noise & wobbly handlebar issues. I contacted Peleton tech support, sent them uploaded videos and I was told that replacement parts were going to be ordered and shipped directly to me, a third party vendor is going to contact me to schedule an appointment to replace the parts. Frankly, I didn’t spend nearly $3K for the bike & extended warranty to have a third party vendor come out to troubleshoot. I’m not too happy about that. It makes me feel like PELETON is no different than Nordictrack. So keep that in mind before you spend your hard earned money.
Great honest review. The bike and all of Peloton’s classes will hit the spot for some. But as you say the regular monthly outlay after investing $2,500 is a big ask. It is nice to hear you openly say it’s not for you.
Depends on what’s your fitness goals are. The Peloton is a solid bike and platform for most. Other smart bikes to look into if you want a more open platform is something like the Wahoo Kickr bike, Tacx Neo bike, Watts bikes, or Stages smart bike.
There is a lot of angst on the Peloton FB page around accuracy. Especially when you compare the original bike vs Bike +. I am curious if you ever measured the accuracy of the old bike? If so what did you find?
I have the old gen3 bike and Assioma pedals. I want to replicate the power study you did. How did you match up the peloton power data with the assioma power data regarding the start/stop time? What app did you use w/ the Assioma pedals? I agree it’s ridiculous the bike power data isn’t even accurate. Thanks
I recorded the power data from the Assioma using my Garmin edge bike computer and just started the ride on my Garmin when the peloton class started. Then matched up the two files using Rubitrack app on my Mac and did the power analysis. Hope that helps.
I am thinking of buying a used Peloton Bike + Can I just log in to that bike using my app account? And, can I recalibrate if I get a used bike? wondering about drawbacks to purchasing a used bike.
Yes, you should be able to use the same peloton account you currently have and login to the bike and it should ask you to convert to a bike membership. And yes you can calibrate the bike. I think buying a used peloton is a great way to get a Peloton while saving some money. Enjoy your Peloton!
I don’t think Peleton is for me. Love my Wattbike Atom and my Zwift subscription. If I want a spin class workout, I throw on a GCN Training class.....awesome
Absolutely! Based on your comment I searched for those spin classes and found Dan and Simon on GCN. That's just perfect and a lot of fun. The rest is Zwift anyway.

I did not but I don’t expect it to be any better than the Bike+

@@SmartBikeTrainers Thank you. I'm a little concerned about it not coming with a warranty, but the reduced price is really appealing.
I have the Peloton app ($12/mo) and am looking to purchase a bike. Would I be committed to purchasing the $39/mo membership if I already have the app?
You need the $39 membership to use the bike. This will replace your $12 one so you only need the $39 one.
@@SmartBikeTrainers thanks!

GCN classes are similar to some of their zone specific classes and you can do them on your ATOM for sure. Thanks for watching!
