  • Change your TDP, temp limit, etc easily with the new "Ryzen Mobile Master" UI
    Check here: • Ryzen Laptops: TDP+Max...
    If you have some problem using this new method, you can stick with the old clover method here: • [OLD] Increase TDP of ...
    Just a plain video without sound to demonstrate the test.
    This laptop has 25W cTDP up unlike other laptops (mostly) 15W.
    Tried to modify it to 30W, and success, but still almost no point because of the thermal limitation of ~75°C which decreases performance even further after hitting nearly 70°C (throttling starts, and you can see that one core runs at a different speed). And you can see how bad is this laptop's thermal throttling in the end.
    Even with the default 25W, thermal throttling is a normal thing.
    I can get only around 32.5W if I use 35W power modification because of power supply limitation (45W adaptor).
    Still very good for daily use for me, but I just want to get rid of this thermal limitation, don't care much about my keyboard getting hot and uncomfortable for most of the users, at least still below the operating threshold of 95°C specified by AMD. Also, 15W is the default wattage, and configurable cTDP 12-25W.
    Already use high-end non-liquid metal thermal paste because aluminum heatsink, vacuum cooler 4000RPM.
    Software: AMD μProf, Prime95, HWiNFO, Windows Task Manager.
    If you have a 15W default TDP and want to get a higher stable performance especially if your laptop has a good cooling system and have no problem with thermal limitation, you can try this:
    / ectwjsm
    Or this
    pastebin.com/3... (from Ryzen Mobile discord)
    And if you have Lenovo Ideapad 330, you may want to read this
    forums.lenovo....
    Good luck and have a nice day! :)
    Till now, no problem caused custom modification (many users already tried this), but still, do this at your own risk. This may work perfectly or not work at all.

    Hey guys. could need some help here. I tried Various Versions of mobile Ryzen Master with no luck on my a315-41G notebook. Then i tried the old methode using clover....but dont know what to do with the changed DSDT.aml after compiling...do i have to insert the stick permanently in the notebook? Do if have to copy it somethere on the System??
    still stuck at 11,9 W (HWinfo CPU Package Power)

    Good video! I ordered a Swift 3 with 2700U, not the G-version since it was really cheap (400usd demo version). Are all Swift 3 without dGPU 25W? Have you activated freesync? I see someone managed it with 40-75Hz range, hopefully it can go a bit lower than that. I also plan on repadting with kryonaut and have a coolingpad from my previous notebook (only 1000rpm so only helped 3C on last notebook), how much did repaste affect temps?

    • @elham7459
      @elham7459  4 года назад +1

      As far as I know, Acer Ryzen laptop without dGPU has 25W TDP. Kryonaut decreases temp from 80C to 70C which is significant.

    Bud aside Msi Afterburner are there any other way to lock your GPU clock speed 800 - 1101mhz perhaps?Msi afterburner isn't allowing me to change it.

    • @elham7459
      @elham7459  4 года назад

      Yeah, same, and I'm using Afterburner not for locking frequency but for OSD.
      User Ryzen Controller to modify SMU power configuration, eg. TDP, Temp Limit, VRM, etc, then you can possibly get higher frequency.

    Good day. I have the g version, with the r535 mobile GPU. Can I do this? Will it be stable? I think it will power throttle. But what if I'll buy a 90w charger, I already have a 65w charger that comes with it. I think I can still push my laptop. Btw, I also have a vacuum cooler 4000rpm and a 4.5w custom fan at the bottom of my laptop, facing directly at the intake of my fan.

    • @elham7459
      @elham7459  4 года назад

      Yes, you can use the Ryzen Controller to modify it. I don't think you'll get benefit from 95W, since some test 65W on non-G (without R535) couldn't get power exceed 45W from wall (no throttle, full custom power ofc)
      If I were you I'll just use the Vega 8 because it's faster in games than R535 if it have sufficient power like 25W (TDP) or more, if you have dual-channel RAM of course, and sufficient usable RAM because Vega 8 need it for VRAM.

  • @duke8324
    @duke8324 5 лет назад +1

    But you actually played games on it for a while on other videos of yours and it did not throttle
    I'm planning to buy it and will use it at 25W tdp, should i buy it or does it throttle alot?
    Reply please!

      I'm using new thermal paste and vacuum cooler (@4000 RPM) or using max fan speed config instead of external cooler (same cooling performance).
      - TDP load on this throttling test is 30W @3 GHz, what causes the throttling is higher CPU frequency needs higher Voltage so efficiency will be lost and more heat output to dissipate.
      For 2.8 GHz bellow is fine at full @25W.
      For gaming I'm using CPU clock @1.6 GHz (or 1.7 GHz) limited by power options (you can check the description) so the voltage is just fine, with every cooling modification above, temp mostly bellow 70°C so it doesn't throttle.
      I've heard someone with same laptop got throttled even with 1.6 or 1.7 GHz CPU (with stock paste and no cooling mod) I think it will fine with external cooler or modified max fan speed.
      Throttling point is 85°C, so I recommend you set max temp to 84°C.

      @@elham7459 Thank you so much for the detailed answer.
      What cooling solutions would you recommend, like which thermal paste and which cooling pad to buy? Which vaccum cooler are you using?
      Also how to set the max fan config so that i could save some money on the vaccum cooler.
      Thanks

    • @elham7459
      @elham7459  5 лет назад +1

      He got throttled because using 30W TDP which allows GPU to get full 1100 MHz (plus moderate-high CPU load at 1.7 GHz)
      This laptop default was 25W and maximum GPU is around 950 MHz.
      At 950 MHz also need lower voltage compared to 1100 MHz.
      So if you're planning to use 25W, everything should be fine without need og any cooling mod on games with CPU @1.7 GHz, raise temp limit to 84°C.

      @@duke8324 I'm using Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste, it the best paste which cost 7$ here (for only 1g, enough for 4 or more usage for a tiny laptop chip).
      Cooling pad, well I have no idea which the best, probably the one with good cfm or airflow specification and make sure it's fan can blow to copper pipe under this A315-41 laptop which covered with open ventilation (you can search "notebookcheck A315-41" and check the picture in there), cooling pad effect is low even for laptop with a great vent like this. I'm not using this.
      Vacuum cooler, I don't think this brand sold outside of my country, but it similar to Opolar LC05 brand. To save more money, check my video about Max Fan Speed, configuration starts around 5 minutes, and check the description for more information.
