I hunt New York State land some big tracks ,last year I had a great opportunity on a very nice buck but unfortunately it didn’t work out my buddy did score the next day on a smaller buck I’m 60 and it is tough hunting especially when you have a meniscus problem but never the less I do decent for public land. We only hunt timber only we hunt a mountain wish I had some farms to hunt but they are all leased in any event I enjoy just being out there good luck to all and stay safe this year.
How do I change my property from an outside in to an inside out property when it's almost entirely ag fields with some small wood ridges surrounded almost entirely by big woods and thick cover?
I had a licking branch that was getting good activity. My hunting buddy put a mineral block next to it thinking it would get more attractive. So far 0 pictures since he put the mineral out... how skewed am I???
Jeff, I took my target buck this week off my 22 acre NJ parcel. I believe the buck, which dressed out at 192 lbs., was 4 1/2 or 5 1/2. Your concepts played a big part in me killing him. Thank you - Cris
Thanks Jeff! Finally got to sit yesterday, didnt anything. I didnt hunt this morning cause a made (what i think) was a lot of noise moving the Trail Camera. I didn't want it to be that loud, but from now on im making sure im super quiet!😄, sometimes its just hard not to.👍
I don’t know if you’ve done some work down in the South, but if you could make a video dedicated more for the lower states where the weather is much hotter, that’d be awesome. Love your videos, just feel like not all of it can be applied due to drastic differences in weather.
I have an idea for the camper blind! If you take some black curtains and blackout the windows that may be really good. I can’t wait to see a video from the camper eventually 😂
Curious, any of you guys on here take the video coarse on setting up your property? I'm considering taking the coarse. I'd like to hear more about it. Is there any interaction with Jeff personally? Was it worth the $? Were you convinced of a plan for your parcel once you took the coarse? Thanks for any input. Jeff, maybe you have something to add? 🙂 I really enjoy your content.

In hilly areas, (like where you are), which is better to hunt? Top, middle, or bottom of the hills? A few of us are going to Southern Ohio next weekend. They want to put me at the bottom of the hill. Another half way up the hill, and another at the top of the hill. Am I at the disadvantage being at the bottom?
I have water on my land...but it is out of the way for the deer, alternative water sources are perfect! Most ponds are not within the daily movement of deer on most lands...
Where I hunt (live), I have tons of acorns that just lay and rot. I was thinking of picking them up, and saving them for the winter months when food is scarce. Is that a good or bad idea? I would rather do that, than use corn.
My vote goes to keeping the camper. Throw a cot in it, sneak in way after dark, sleep in, and be ready to hunt in the AM as you're enjoying your coffee from your battery powered coffee maker.
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751, if we could post pics on here I'd post a pic of the 100 yard shot to one of our feeders from our elevated cabin's bedroom window. Jeff I’m hunting a family farm in South Georgia. I hunt the entire 618 acres alongside my grandfather. I primarily bow hunt and am seeing good deer. Is it too early to throw small grunts or blind rattle to draw them in range? Thanks!
Bucks grunt year round, its just the type of grunt you do, like dont do a tending grunt or a rut grunt, just a little 1 to 2 second grunt to get his attention, and then wait, he still knows where your at even if he walks away! 👍
First and foremost I want to thank you for all the information you share. It has changed how I hunt whitetails indefinitely. I have a quick question about your switch grass plantings for access to and from stands. What are the minimum and maximum widths of your switchgrass strips? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. With Gratitude, Kyle
Bought 40 acres in March and have been following the videos and improving the land as much as I could in a short amount of time. Had my first 2 sits yesterday in the morning and afternoon/evening and saw 17 deer. 9 of them came within 20 yards so I feel good about my stand locations. Had 2 eight pointers come by me and one is this seasons shooter but I didn’t have a clean shot so I decided to hold this time. Fortunately, he shows up in my cameras during the day multiple times a week so hopefully I’ll get another try at him.
Can't wait to be out the boy already killed a 10 on opening day on out standing corn. Still haven't been out and it's been a week I'm just afraid of blowing them out I have 3 giants 170 and bigger
I may be blocked from RUclips by my wife. You really know how to activate my OCD with getting my own place to manipulate and not have to wait on the rut to see a giant. One day it will happen, thanks for the content and good luck!
I don't buy the 400 yard buck movement. I have 2 other property owners that run cameras and we share with each other, this is a great habitat area and the bucks easily travel 2.5 miles day in/out.
This guy is awesome for sure, but I feel like if I spent $10,000 on stands, $3,000 on cameras, added atvs, the best bow and arrows, clothes , range finder, hundreds of thousands on private land; plus, adding crops , water holes, added trees… I would be pretty good too. Im not hating, I love watching ; personally Im looking for venison and I want to NOT spend $100,000 for 100 lbs of meat. I have an old bow and a hang-n-hunt stand, and I sometimes think I spent too much on all of that to shoot a deer.
Unfortunately the general rule I see every day in my profession...the more you spend on whitetails the lower your results are. A sad fact. It applies to most of my neighbors as well. You can't buy consistent success in Hunting whitetails, unfortunately. It also helps I get most all of it free because of my hard work and results for decades 😊
For not hating, it sounds a awful lot like hating. It's funny to me how most people complain about the money spent on hunting, spend that amount or more on other things like cigarettes, or other totally wasteful unhealthy habits. People will complain about what other people spend on hunting is hilarious. I know people that spend over $150 on tv service a month.

With the plot boost are you still using a atv sprayer or a backpack sprayer so your not driving over your crop?
Would you recommend water holes on a ridge when there are fresh streams in the valley within 100-150 yards?
I am curious, have you ever had a property that you couldn't make a good hunting parcel?
