As a Christian, I think the creators did an excellent job in portraying God's love, holiness, glory and also His anger, which is what God had to Moses, when he questioned Him and didn't obey His commands (Exodus 4:14). Yes, God is loving and gentle, but He can be provoked to wrath and indignation, if we're not careful and take sin lightly and the creators did a fine job in showing that. The music by Hans Zimmer really elevated this scene tenfold for me. It's the closest musical expression to what I can imagine being in God's presence feels like.

Gods are, inherently, ethnically based, every culture having their own 'pantheon' of gods, which helped them and often them alone, since they were 'their' people. "I have seen the oppression of MY people". The Abrahamic religions only differ from the 'norm' in that there's only a singular deity to worship, and it wasn't until after Christianity that God became so encompassing...which, of course, isn't recognized by Judaism. As this is the God of the Jews, then obviously he doesn't really give a shit about other peoples, since they are outside his domain.

+Frosty videos Um actually you can hear the other cast members whispering Kilmer's lines. You see originally, God was going to be played by everyone in the cast, but it made it seem like many gods instead of one God. And then a woman and her daughter voiced God, but it made God seem to female. And so they settled with God being voiced by Kilmer while the rest of the cast whispered behind Kilmer.

    • @elnumbrotres
      @elnumbrotres 9 лет назад +4

+Frosty videos the point of having Kilmer voice God is that God made man in his image. I think the way it works is that God presents himself with the voice of the person whom he speaks to, but it has a supernatural sound to it. They sound similar, but God's voice has a whisper or echo to it whenever he speaks.

Whatever he says, it is. Whatever he says is done is done. For me, watching this scene, when God said "I am that I am" there was an instance of recognition, like he was familiar, and it's because he is, he created all of us. And he is, the Great I Am. She told me to pray to them one time which I refused and made me wear a deceased relatives jacket to a job interview for “good luck.” She always mentions prayers but I don’t think she does it. But after she mentioned praying to them I am now concerned with who she is truly praying too and hope she doesn’t do it at all while lost. She feels her mom communicates with her favorite numbers or something too. And last but not least. She doesn’t believe hell exists and that it’s already on Earth. She still of course believes in heaven though. She is so lost I don’t even know how to approach her with the truth. I tried baby steps like explaining things. I even tried to explain the elite but she didn’t care since she loves political propaganda. My current last straw was a biblical movie about Apostle Paul. She fell asleep on it even though it had good conflict and story telling. She saw 2 seconds and didn’t want to watch it. Then she said go ahead and slept through most of it. I understand she was tired but I’m pretty sure afterwards she was fully awake for her political propaganda.

From the beginning of God saved Moses from the Pharaoh army who was going house to house taking infants and throwing them into the Nile River, when Moses real mother put him into a basket. God redirected the basket to Pharaohs daughter. God saved Moses for his reasons and purpose. He even saved Moses from the guards who were sent by Pharaoh after he heard Moses killed one of the slave drivers, and saved him while Moses was walking across the desert. God intentionally led Moses to the Jethro Priest of Midian. My main point God was with Moses from the beginning since his birth. Protecting him, guiding him until God told him his purpose.

God still reveals to His children today! In New York in the spring of 1820, a 14-year-old poor farmboy named Joseph Smith wanted to know which Christian church to attend. He went out into the woods to pray, and was immediately attacked by an unseen demonic force. It held him bound and filled his mind with darkness. Joseph cried out for help, and the darkness was banished by God and His Son, Jesus Christ appearing to Joseph. They instructed Joseph that none of the churches were fully true and that Joseph needed to restore Christ's full gospel to the world today. That restored church is known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. :)

If you listen closely, whenever God speaks in His normal or strong tone, you can always hear the constant whispering (echos) in the background. I think that in itself is just beautiful writting in voice acting. It's showing God's two sides at once. His soft and hard sides. Even as He's scolding Moses, he is still whispering. It's like as He doesn't want to shout because its not in Him to shout. And then He speaks softly to comfort him after knowing He scared him; even though He tried to whisper it at the same time. ofcourse22 yet those children had nothing to do with pharaoh. It’s stated in the Bible that god loves all his creation. Did he no create the Egyptians? Did he not give humans free will to choose how and whom we believe in. If god truly existed and loved all his creation then the death of thousands of children and an eternity of torment for not bowing down to a vengeful and angry god would not exist. If he truly sent the man Jesus down to save us how is it that the Bible, his word, has been rewritten over thousands of years. How is there no proof of an almighty being that will one day insure that only the people who believe in him are brought to a land of pure joy and holyness while the rest of his creation is burned and a moon of blood dots the sky, a beast rises from the oceans and kills all who don’t believe. To only send them into eternal torment that smells of burning sulfur. Give me the proof. Have a burning bush talk to me. Send those ten foul plagues down and harm and kill millions of innocents that have nothing to do with him. Prove it to me that he too is not guilty of death. Hell he killed a man trying to make sure his covenant didn’t fall. He forced a man to nearly kill his own son. He flooded his creation for people who didn’t believe. We live in a world very similar if not identical to that world of Noah and has a man told us in great detail how we will die? No. All that was said is that he is coming soon. But gives no proof, only a book written by man.

You can just tell the feeling of the overwhelming passion God is giving Moses from the expression on Moses face. And as soon as God leaves his presence, it’s as if Moses didn’t want that feeling to go away. That why he starts crying. I think a lot of people can agree with what I’m saying.
I’ve been researching a lot of videos of NDE’s (near death experiences) and the consistency of evidence from what happened to those that have died and came back to explain what they “experienced” is sort of, in a way, what Moses is feeling when God picks him up. It’s that feeling of passion, love and acceptance. I really hope they are not just saying it for attention. I hope that really happens when we move on from this life.

For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.
      Romans 8:16‭-‬19 NLT
I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega-the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars-their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
      Revelation 21:3‭-‬8 NLT
For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies. While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit. So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. For we live by believing and not by seeing. Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

The one detail I’ve always loved is the fact Moses never wore his sandals after that, it’s to show that not only the place he interacted with God is holy ground but everywhere he goes is, as God said that he will be with him when he goes to Egypt.

Sometimes when I feel like my life is hopeless and I’m beyond redemption I watch this clip and it just reminds me that God truly can use you for the better and thinks so highly of you and loves you so much. And that to me is something so remarkable.

For us, it’s difficult to imagine what Mosus was thinking or feeling. Just imagine, being in the presence of Jehovah, instructed to go lead his people out of Egypt. I think just like him, you’d ask so many questions like “why me?” It’s funny, when god blazed in anger, I bet he was like: “I know you have other questions but we have a job to do”. Then to see his ‘wonders’, man, that would have been not only scary to see, but amazing to witness.

I love seeing that one tear from his eye right as God lays him back down on the ground.

This scene remembered me the movie The Lion King when Simba talks to Mufasa's Spirit! The song is almost the same even because Hans Zimmer composed both of them! And the dialogue is almost the same that the Son must save his people from the slavery of a Tyrant King! Remember ...

There's also a Cain and Abel slant to the Lion King as well with Scar and Mufasa.

can I just say that this is the most powerful scene of all time in this movie. it is in my opinion this best realistic parale of the story of the ten Commandments. and the amaimtion is so life like it's unreal. for all of u 90's babies out there this was the movie to watch during Christmas and Easter time. now I know that this isn't a bible versus bit this is one of the favorite quotes.
" You must never give in to disappear allow yourself to slip down that road and you will Surrender to your lowest instinks in the darkest of times hope is something you give yourself that is the meaning of inner strength".

I miss when animated movies were this good! Everything about this film, from the animation to the music, is just so wonderful. I'm certain that today's animated films have plenty of good attributes themselves, and there are many who enjoy them and who have worked hard to create them and I'd hate to discredit that, but in my mind the era of animation that comprises movies like The Prince of Egypt, Tarzan, The Hunchback of NotreDame, etc, will always be my favorite.
