    A mechanic friend gave me a good tip for fuel stabilizer. He adds the stabilizer when he fills up the can at the gas station. That way he knows that all his fuel cans have stabilized fuel. He lost repeat income on that as I used to take some of my small engine stuff to him and it was pretty much always gas related.

    Enjoyed your video, was glad to hear it runs the 15.000 BTU ac just fine. I am just about to order the spark plug, the dip-stick and a cover for my Predator 3500. I was told these Predator 3500 don't need to set on grass, always set them on a hard surface to keep them from sucking grass up inside them. I cut a peace of plywood to set mine on.

    Great video - thank you.. I have the same 3500 unit and noticed when I connect it to my camping trailer I get a red and blue light on the 30 amp cord. I checked the generator and trailer and found the 3500 has a floating ground.. First question: Is this a major safety and operational concern? I used a 15 amp plug and connected the common to ground and this created a Non floating ground and eliminated the red led on the 30 amp cord. Second question: Did your 3500 have a floating ground? Thanks for the info -

    • @RZRDREAMS
      @RZRDREAMS  4 года назад +1

      In short, yes floating grounds can be dangerous, but it my experience they’re more dangerous for electronics (your campers electrical system) than anything. I used to be a Diesel engine generator tech in the USAF before I restrained into my new very boring job. I would maintain tactical quiet generators for bare base setups and our favorite gen to use was a dual 80K generator run in parallel. The hardest thing to do was ground the trailer because we had to drive a 4’ copper rod 3’ into the ground. It is very important. The only reason why I didn’t have mine grounded in the video was because I didn’t take the time needed to go and buy the equipment for it. Before my next trip with it I will be sure to have a 3/8 diameter copper rod 1.5” in length with a 10 AWG copper wire. That is more than enough to ensure things are in order. You should be able to pick these items up from amazon for about $35 total. This should also remove all your fault lights.

    The only thing 93 octane does that is useful is higher detergency. The difference from 89 is antiknock, which makes no difference in a unit like this. The magnetic dipstick is a very good hint.

    Be careful with the magnetic dip stick. Rumors are the magnet part falls out.
    I used the supplied spark plug tool, works great
    I have only 17 hrs. of break in time at 1-hour intervals every week.
    If I let it sit over 2-3 weeks, it surges.
    Just trying to break it in I’ve had to pull the carb and clean the jets.
    Now at 17 hrs. the gauge stopped working, only reads hrs. used????
    Harbor Fright won’t do anything because it’s out of warranty, even though it has only 17 hrs. of break in time.
    Below parts I use:
    Shell V-Power® NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline after I remove all the Ethanol.
    Then I added STA-BIL 360 to all my gas cans then fill up the Predator 3500 gas tank.
    NGK BPR7ES 5534 Spark Plug.
    Lucas High Zinc Hot Rod oil
    I wish you would do a video on the 30 amp upgrade. Thanks for the video.

    The magnetic plug sounds like a good idea, BUT 98 percent of that engine is aluminum, the only thing steel is the crank shaft. The cylinder is not even iron sleeved. All the silver you see is aluminum shavings in the oil it's not sticking to the magnet. I run my A/C no problem, can actually run microwave with A/C but it's pushing it but it does do it. Just wanted to see if I could run both.

      No problem still very good to change oil a couple times as you are cause the aluminum shavings are just as bad as steel shavings. Overall it's a very good generator for the money. I've heard very few complaints on it, some people are never happy no matter how good a product is. Keep up the vids the SXS looks awesome.

    • @RZRDREAMS
      @RZRDREAMS  2 года назад

      We don't have a lot of experience modifying generators; however, I do know there are a lot of videos out there you can watch to do this. Now, if you're asking whether or not you should own a fuel or propane-based set then that questions comes with a lot of stipulations such as what will you be using it for, where to you plan to use it and so on.

      Bret, Hopefully you haven't torn it apart or did get it working again. If not try this: Fire it up, then plug a brush type electric drill into it. Pull the trigger and spin the chuck in reverse. The drill spinning in reverse sends just enough juice into the generator to excite it and it will start working again. Some use another drill to spin it backwards using a dowel between the chucks. Don't tighten either chuck or it will not be pretty when the gen starts producing power. This works on generators but not sure about inverters. RUclips it.
