No, you're not a jerk for playing that well after she played. You gave her her moment (she did great!) and you let her use your violin (I'm sure it's an expensive instrument and what if she dropped it) and then you gave her another moment of pure awe and inspiration and now she's slightly famous RUclips. She and her family will remember it for years!

Music is inspirational, not competative. While one may look at Mr Bolt and thinks' Ill never be that good', no one listens to music and thinks, thats it, Im never listening to music again!

The only thing I didn’t like and thought was a little confusing was mixing footage from central park and Union square together. If you don’t know New York you are just going to assume he was in one park. If you are from New York Ryan you’re going what just happened I thought he was union square how did he pop up uptown

Best part about this dude's playing is that he can actually play so many different styles. I think a lot of talented violinists are married to the one style.

The difference is he is not a sheet music musician... he knows his instrument so well he can play probably anything just by ear.

I remember when I started learning piano and when I got the chance to hear someone on a master level play in front of me, it was nothing but inspiration toward what I could become if I keep it up. You could see the light shine in her eyes the moment you started playing. You're the embodiment of what she's striving toward.

Same goes for a natural singer. We have to try to sing off key intentionally cause our minds will automatically match the melody of whatever song is playing audibly or in our heads.

I don't even play the violin, I've only played it once, and honestly, I wasn't that good. When I see your videos though, it motivates me to go back to that violin, and play the hell out of it. You really are an inspiration, just by how good you are at playing the violin!

Music is a universal language. Like gesturing and body language. Or basic math.
Something about those ideas are often learned quickly and enable an almost primal form of communication. And the advanced forms are what drives humanity forward, in one way or another.
