okay so, for safety, please make a copy of the png files if you made it bad. the menuloop, stayinside me and other mp3 files are safe. if you only have mspaint, the transparent will turn white, breaking every sprite you have. just please. pin this, so everyone can be aware of corrupting sprite sheets.

I'll try to make an update video covering why I haven't been uploading, and what steps we should all be taking in order to prepare for the next update, if there is one.
Np, glad to help and hope it turns out great, here's a few tips tho k. If you're gonna do uhd (ultra high definition/ best quality) then this applies to you. GJ_Gamesheet02-uhd is the file name for the place to customize all your cubes, ships, waves, balls, spiders, robots, etc. Like I said, anything there that you change and save will be different in the game too. For menu customization, you want to look at GJ_GameSheet03-uhd, GJ_GameSheet04-uhd, and GJ_LaunchSheet-uhd. At the bottom of the resources file you'll find stuff like sliders and their thumbs and maybe some trails. The trails are universal so it doesn't matter if you set the game to HD or not if you customize them. They'll be the same in any quality. I recommend specifically changing streak_04_001 because I think it looks better and has more room to work with. You really just need to explore the resources file and see what you can customize :P Last tip, in the resources file, right click anywhere that's not on a file name. Like somewhere blank off the side of all the stuff. Click view. Then click tiles. This will help you see what's what.
The pause menu? Hm, I believe those icons and borders should be in one of the gamesheet files, starts with something like GJ_Gamesheet or something along those lines and it MIGHT be the third one. So it might look something like... GJ_Gamesheet03.hd (remember if you have a really good pc, edit the files with .uhd at the end and set your graphics to high in the game for better quality.
The whole reason for this video was so you can make something YOU like! As long as you like the way you do it, then you know you're doing something right.
Nice, I should experiment with sfx. Make sure you make a back up file for when 2.2 comes out. When it does, the game will update and everything you've put in there will be lost. So just make a new folder and copy and paste all the sheets and sfx you've edited so you can edit it back in after the update.
It all depends on pixels. If it looks blurry then that means you probably put a low pixel image and made it bigger. It looks digital if you have a high pixel image and down size it. Looking for the right image size is important.
Nice! Also anything you edit make sure you make a copy of the file and store it somewhere not in the Geometry Dash files. Reason being, once GD is updated to 2.2, there's a good possibility that it'll wipe all files in the GD folder
Hey! An easier way to edit the file is that you can just go into the local files of geometry dash via Steam, then go into resources and open the file (as shown in this video) with the Paint.net app.

Is it possible to change the colors, for example, can I make the color white rainbow so when I use white it shows rainbow instead of white I see it in texture packs but I can't find to customize colors any help with this?
Oof, I have no idea on that one, but that seems more like it's in the code then the files. But I might be wrong on that 🤔 I would imagine texture packs that use white make it look rainbow because the cube is already customized and not the actual color.
@@spooky9898 No problem. But yea dude, just color your cube, ship, ball, etc. And change both your colors in the game to white. If it's not white, it'll be tinted the color you do have on. So like my example that I said earlier. If you color it blue in the file like I did in the video, but you have your primary and secondary color set to red, then it'll look purple.
That's interesting. It could be something as little as an extra space to mess the whole thing up. I would copy and paste if I were you but I haven't had issues with swapping music file names
every single time i change a song the file name usually has no space like "HexagonForce" or "GeometricalDominator" when changing custom songs you need to name the song you want to replace your level it with it's id hope this helped!
To my knowledge, replacing the default icon should also replace the mini icon if you have it set in the settings. Make sure default mini icon is unchecked. Certain cubes also have their own unique outlines that you can edit in a different game sheet.
I remember having custom menu music a while ago. Now, I cant hear anything at all, even on 2 different computers. File name is exactly the same as the original, same format, nothing. I cant get anything to play now. I have tried probably about 15 times already, completely backing up files, restoring files, and etc.

Yes. if you don't want to use Paint.Net that's cool. Whatever you use needs to be able to open up the GD files and edit them. If it doesn't work then just try Paint.Net because it's free and you can just delete it after
Look for the file name of the image you want to replace, replace the names of the image file names of the 2 you want to switch. Pro tip, I recommend checking the pixel count. Like if the original image was 1920x1080 pixels then the new image should also probably be 1920x1080 pixels. You can use paint.net to figure everything out as well, I think the bottom left tells you the length x width of the pixels you selected.

Remember, if you can find the resource files and open them in a editor (like paint.net that I mentioned in the video) you should be able to customize it. This is specifically for PC too. If you can't find it then I'd recommend just buying the game, its like $5 and its easier to find the files through steam and the tutorial I made. It is possible to customize both! I am trying to remember which gamesheet it is in tho 🤔 In the video, I explain how you need to go into a folder thats named something like GJ_Gamesheet02_uhd. Well, the gamesheet you're looking for is probably 03 or 04. It is important you look through the gamesheets, I believe there is only 4 of them and they have normal, hd, and uhd versions. If you have a good PC, always use the gamesheet that has uhd at the end of the file name.
Yea, this is for you in case you ever decide to do it yourself. Its not all that hard and keep in mind you don't really need any art skills. The textures I use now are ripped off of Google images. So yea, my cube is a diamond block from minecraft now. Backgrounds are the absolute BEST tho to pull from Google.
Interesting. You could have always downloaded it into a different location. Try searching on the top right for Geometry Dash and see if anything shows up. If not, look into other drives if you have any. For example, the one I said to look into has a C: But it could be in something else with a D: or even E: Just make sure you click on one of these first and then type Geometry Dash on the top right.
ive a question, i changed the color of one of the glows for an icon and it looks fine but when i actually play a level it appears as the normal glow color. any idea why/how to fix?
Glow colors are based on the color your character is using. Specifically the secondary color (I think). So if my cube has its colors white and blue, the glow will be blue. If you changed it to, let's say red, the color will be combined. So it might look purple. So make sure your secondary color is white. You're saying it's not changing at all so just make sure the file name is right and depending on which one you renamed, make sure the game is set to the quality that matches it. Example: if you named the file with a name ending in hd then change the game to medium quality settings. If it ends in uhd then change it to high.
There is actually some fonts already in the resources folder in Geometry Dash that you can use. I'm surprised RobTop didn't give people the option to customize it in game. I forget the name of the files but they're hard to miss. Look around the resource folder, there's a bunch of them next to each other along with they're code file which is the one you need to replace, not the png. Don't take my word for it tho, I'm not entirely sure how to change font without screwing up some game play stuff so that's why I didn't include it in the video. Hopefully this part of the comment section can fix that. Hint: the original font is somewhere at the very top of the resource folder. The second font you want to look at it the gold font which is the yellowish words in the game. The file for that one is called goldfont or something near that. The different fonts you can use are the ones you have to look for but like I said, hard to miss.
@PowerMasterYTツ you can't get a virus from using stuff you already have in the folder. You're just taking stuff already in there and renaming it so it gets used as the default font. The only issue I have is the text in game when I did change it. Say you're playing a level right, if the creator of the level uses normal text then it's gonna look messed up if you changed it but it doesn't really take away from the experience. So to me it's not really a problem, just more of a glitch that I'm fine with. But yea, only way you could possibly get a virus here is if you download stuff. I already explained how to download paint.net safely in the video.
also, how do I make it so I can replace the default ufo or ship with a ship I like that I don't have? do I open that file and copy paste the icon and move it over the icon I want? or do I do something else?
Oh so you wanna cheat eh? Even I don't swap the icons, but if I was a cheater then I would make a copy of the icon I'm going to replace and shove it into a empty corner of the same sheet. Then I would look for the I icon I want and copy paste it over. But keep in mind it would have to be a UFO that kinda matches the shape of the UFO you are changing. Not all UFO's have the same pixel dimensions but yea. You would do a perfect copy past over it.
Hey, can you please respond on this one? So I wanted to try the gradient thing, but when i try to make the top of an icon gradient, the white color AND the gradient cover the rest of the icon completely, I dont know how to fix that. Could u please help?
Gradient is kinda tricky but I can recall doing it in a certain part of this video. I use it around 6:36 and to do it you must understand how to select certain pixels. Take this as a hint, there are tools that let you select and deselect pixels. Certain icons are horrible to deal with due to the fact it may contain more secondary colors which I did not show how to edit in this video... still trying to figure that one out.
@@r1reagle either you didn't name the file right, or you haven't gone into the settings in Geometry Dash and set the graphics to medium or high. Change the in game graphic settings and see if anything changes from what you edited.
Hi, I did everything you did when saving the image file in HD, nothing happened... but in the game in Uhd, its showing me a bunch of small random things from the image. Could you tell me why?
Um. Thats not very specific. But if its changing something in the Uhd then you most likely edited a uhd file instead of a normal HD one, OR you did a edit on something that is general to any graphic setting. That or you swaped file names around. I need more info to understand whats actually going on tho.

I show you how to look at certain files under the games resources file. To get to the resources files, look at this part of the video 12:17 . The files for background sheets are called something like game_bg_15_001-uhd. You would basically open one of these up in paint.net and start editing it to however you want. REMEMBER!!! Any file name that ends in -uhd means the quality settings in Geometry Dash must be set to High. Anything that's ends in -hd must be medium. If it doesn't end with anything like -uhd and -hd then it is low.
The menu background when you first open the game is the default bg, but if you play a level with a different background, it'll be that bg when you go back to the menu

That is... interesting. If you have any other place where there is storage then check there. Otherwise, if your sure it should be there then look up GJ_GameSheet on the file search bar on the right and see if anything pops up.
You should do what I did. Copy and paste the texture file and edit the original. If you ever decide to go back to the original textures then just switch the names. The one that has the (1) at the end of the file name is the copied one and will not be used in the game. or it says "copy" at the end.

Yea, if you make a copy and understand the importance of file names. You really just make a copy of a file, edit the one you want and swap it with the original file name so the game uses it when it loads up.
@Dvayvidsayearfan you can always re-download the game and start over but this is only a viable option if you made a geometry dash account. Otherwise you will lose all data. I think even making an account will reset your data but I would rather do that and save progress going forward then losing it all like rn. Otherwise you're gonna have to find a way to get a copy of the original file. Remember, it's a PNG.
At 6:30 in the video I explain how to use gradient. If it is filling your WHOLE Screen then that means you are not selecting something like I did with the cube. In the cube example, I made 4 gradient sides. NOW! What I didn't explain was the overlap tool (or at least thats what I call it). Use the tool that I used on the top left of the tool box (the one on the left side of the blue arrow tool). You can select anything that's shaped like a square or rectangle, which is why I used the cube as an example because it was easy. If you want to do something like, idk a ball, then you would want to select a certain part of it using the tool I told you... THEN you should hit the tool under the scissors button (there's 2 icons under the scissors so it's the left one) that has 2 blue squares overlapping each other. Keep in mind, you should think of this as a variant of the tool you selected so the option will only show up if you are using it. Make sure you are zoomed into the object you are editing just how I zoomed super up close to the cube to fill my screen so it makes editing easier. Remember, you are dealing with pixels here. After you select all the pixels you want to edit, THEN you can use the gradient tool and mess with that however you want to. I should probably make a tutorial on this because I got pretty good at it... but eh.
You can probably try Gmail. Both people create Gmail accounts and the person with the stuff emails a small part of it to the other person. It's gonna take a while because Google doesn't let you send BIG emails. But yea, click the create email button, and then the paperclick (attachment button) and make sure you made a new folder with like 2-3 things just to see if it would let you send it. An example would be like this. I made a new empty folder and I placed the HD textures and the menu texture in there. Then I go to Gmail and attach that file and send it to the person that wants it.
yea, for example... Instead of editing something like lets say GJ_GameSheet02-hd you should instead do GJ_GameSheet02-uhd anything with uhd at the end is higher graphics. Heads up tho, stuff like the trails don't have uhd, they're just universal I guess.

Haha, that's going into hacking territory buddy. Here this is all looks. So this tutorial can teach you how to make it look~ like the create button, but it would still function as the more games button. Home screen shortcuts for an app like Geometry Dash is a brilliant idea tho 👌.
Make sure you are running the right resolution according to the files you edited. In this vid I went with the HD textures so you have to set the game to HD textures as well.

Make sure you have a Geometry Dash Account. you go into the settings then click account. Click save and then delete and redownload the game. It should redownload the normal files. Remember, it's important to make a copy of the original file to keep it as a back up in case anything goes wrong.
Sorry, I don't really know how to upload that stuff without it looking sketchy 😅 Either way, it only took me a couple of hours to get that far with what I got so if I could do it, you could do it :)
Then you must have saved your steam files in another location. If you have anything connected to your PC like a hard drive or SSD, look into those. The files are important for customizing.
@@CodeHiiro hey, bd is something for me!!!! I use that so I know it's a copy or a back up of another file. In the time I made the video, I'm pretty sure I renamed the end "..._bd" in order to remember that's the original game sheet copy that hasn't been modified (bd being my initials). You know in case I ever need it in case I mess something up. Depending on what your system can run, you want to use the file with _uhd at the end if you have a really good system. Then make sure you change your graphics in game to the Highest setting so you can see the changes!
If you have a windows PC, then there should always be a steam folder somewhere. Also, this is not a video for Mobile. Just saying in case you're trying to do that there.

There there little one, soon. I played on mobile for like a whole 2 years through updates 1.9 and I think 2.0 I personally challenge you to beat all the original levels while on mobile, only then would it be really worth upgrading to PC.

Yes. if you don't want to use Paint.Net that's cool. Whatever you use needs to be able to open up the GD files and edit them. If it doesn't work then just try Paint.Net because it's free and you can just delete it after

Look for the file name of the image you want to replace, replace the names of the image file names of the 2 you want to switch. Pro tip, I recommend checking the pixel count. Like if the original image was 1920x1080 pixels then the new image should also probably be 1920x1080 pixels. You can use paint.net to figure everything out as well, I think the bottom left tells you the length x width of the pixels you selected.

Remember, if you can find the resource files and open them in a editor (like paint.net that I mentioned in the video) you should be able to customize it. This is specifically for PC too. If you can't find it then I'd recommend just buying the game, its like $5 and its easier to find the files through steam and the tutorial I made.

Mobile is harder to work with. If you have a way to access the files then you should be able to do this but this is more of a PC tutorial :/ srry

It is possible to customize both! I am trying to remember which gamesheet it is in tho 🤔 In the video, I explain how you need to go into a folder thats named something like GJ_Gamesheet02_uhd. Well, the gamesheet you're looking for is probably 03 or 04. It is important you look through the gamesheets, I believe there is only 4 of them and they have normal, hd, and uhd versions. If you have a good PC, always use the gamesheet that has uhd at the end of the file name.

Yea, this is for you in case you ever decide to do it yourself. Its not all that hard and keep in mind you don't really need any art skills. The textures I use now are ripped off of Google images. So yea, my cube is a diamond block from minecraft now. Backgrounds are the absolute BEST tho to pull from Google.

Interesting. You could have always downloaded it into a different location. Try searching on the top right for Geometry Dash and see if anything shows up. If not, look into other drives if you have any. For example, the one I said to look into has a C:
But it could be in something else with a D: or even E:
Just make sure you click on one of these first and then type Geometry Dash on the top right.
ive a question, i changed the color of one of the glows for an icon and it looks fine but when i actually play a level it appears as the normal glow color. any idea why/how to fix?
Glow colors are based on the color your character is using. Specifically the secondary color (I think). So if my cube has its colors white and blue, the glow will be blue. If you changed it to, let's say red, the color will be combined. So it might look purple. So make sure your secondary color is white. You're saying it's not changing at all so just make sure the file name is right and depending on which one you renamed, make sure the game is set to the quality that matches it. Example: if you named the file with a name ending in hd then change the game to medium quality settings. If it ends in uhd then change it to high.

There is actually some fonts already in the resources folder in Geometry Dash that you can use. I'm surprised RobTop didn't give people the option to customize it in game. I forget the name of the files but they're hard to miss. Look around the resource folder, there's a bunch of them next to each other along with they're code file which is the one you need to replace, not the png. Don't take my word for it tho, I'm not entirely sure how to change font without screwing up some game play stuff so that's why I didn't include it in the video. Hopefully this part of the comment section can fix that.
Hint: the original font is somewhere at the very top of the resource folder. The second font you want to look at it the gold font which is the yellowish words in the game. The file for that one is called goldfont or something near that. The different fonts you can use are the ones you have to look for but like I said, hard to miss.
@PowerMasterYTツ you can't get a virus from using stuff you already have in the folder. You're just taking stuff already in there and renaming it so it gets used as the default font. The only issue I have is the text in game when I did change it. Say you're playing a level right, if the creator of the level uses normal text then it's gonna look messed up if you changed it but it doesn't really take away from the experience. So to me it's not really a problem, just more of a glitch that I'm fine with. But yea, only way you could possibly get a virus here is if you download stuff. I already explained how to download paint.net safely in the video.
also, how do I make it so I can replace the default ufo or ship with a ship I like that I don't have? do I open that file and copy paste the icon and move it over the icon I want? or do I do something else?
Oh so you wanna cheat eh? Even I don't swap the icons, but if I was a cheater then I would make a copy of the icon I'm going to replace and shove it into a empty corner of the same sheet. Then I would look for the I icon I want and copy paste it over. But keep in mind it would have to be a UFO that kinda matches the shape of the UFO you are changing. Not all UFO's have the same pixel dimensions but yea. You would do a perfect copy past over it.
You can use megahack v5 and it has a setting to unlock all icons

So I wanted to try the gradient thing, but when i try to make the top of an icon gradient, the white color AND the gradient cover the rest of the icon completely, I dont know how to fix that. Could u please help?
Gradient is kinda tricky but I can recall doing it in a certain part of this video. I use it around 6:36 and to do it you must understand how to select certain pixels. Take this as a hint, there are tools that let you select and deselect pixels.
Certain icons are horrible to deal with due to the fact it may contain more secondary colors which I did not show how to edit in this video... still trying to figure that one out.

@@r1reagle either you didn't name the file right, or you haven't gone into the settings in Geometry Dash and set the graphics to medium or high. Change the in game graphic settings and see if anything changes from what you edited.

Hi, I did everything you did when saving the image file in HD, nothing happened... but in the game in Uhd, its showing me a bunch of small random things from the image. Could you tell me why?
Um. Thats not very specific. But if its changing something in the Uhd then you most likely edited a uhd file instead of a normal HD one, OR you did a edit on something that is general to any graphic setting. That or you swaped file names around. I need more info to understand whats actually going on tho.

How can I change the background to other backgrounds available in the editor? Answer pls
I show you how to look at certain files under the games resources file. To get to the resources files, look at this part of the video 12:17 . The files for background sheets are called something like game_bg_15_001-uhd. You would basically open one of these up in paint.net and start editing it to however you want. REMEMBER!!! Any file name that ends in -uhd means the quality settings in Geometry Dash must be set to High. Anything that's ends in -hd must be medium. If it doesn't end with anything like -uhd and -hd then it is low.
The menu background when you first open the game is the default bg, but if you play a level with a different background, it'll be that bg when you go back to the menu

That is... interesting. If you have any other place where there is storage then check there. Otherwise, if your sure it should be there then look up GJ_GameSheet on the file search bar on the right and see if anything pops up.

You should do what I did. Copy and paste the texture file and edit the original. If you ever decide to go back to the original textures then just switch the names. The one that has the (1) at the end of the file name is the copied one and will not be used in the game. or it says "copy" at the end.
@@Brawlio13 Y'know 1 year late but going into game properties and verifying the files should reset everything to normal although it will still keep the files you made before so going through and deleting the files (you made)

Yea, if you make a copy and understand the importance of file names. You really just make a copy of a file, edit the one you want and swap it with the original file name so the game uses it when it loads up.
@Dvayvidsayearfan you can always re-download the game and start over but this is only a viable option if you made a geometry dash account. Otherwise you will lose all data. I think even making an account will reset your data but I would rather do that and save progress going forward then losing it all like rn. Otherwise you're gonna have to find a way to get a copy of the original file. Remember, it's a PNG.

At 6:30 in the video I explain how to use gradient. If it is filling your WHOLE Screen then that means you are not selecting something like I did with the cube. In the cube example, I made 4 gradient sides. NOW! What I didn't explain was the overlap tool (or at least thats what I call it). Use the tool that I used on the top left of the tool box (the one on the left side of the blue arrow tool). You can select anything that's shaped like a square or rectangle, which is why I used the cube as an example because it was easy. If you want to do something like, idk a ball, then you would want to select a certain part of it using the tool I told you... THEN you should hit the tool under the scissors button (there's 2 icons under the scissors so it's the left one) that has 2 blue squares overlapping each other. Keep in mind, you should think of this as a variant of the tool you selected so the option will only show up if you are using it. Make sure you are zoomed into the object you are editing just how I zoomed super up close to the cube to fill my screen so it makes editing easier. Remember, you are dealing with pixels here. After you select all the pixels you want to edit, THEN you can use the gradient tool and mess with that however you want to. I should probably make a tutorial on this because I got pretty good at it... but eh.

You can probably try Gmail. Both people create Gmail accounts and the person with the stuff emails a small part of it to the other person. It's gonna take a while because Google doesn't let you send BIG emails. But yea, click the create email button, and then the paperclick (attachment button) and make sure you made a new folder with like 2-3 things just to see if it would let you send it.
An example would be like this.
I made a new empty folder and I placed the HD textures and the menu texture in there. Then I go to Gmail and attach that file and send it to the person that wants it.
send him a .zip file

you should instead do
GJ_GameSheet02-uhd
anything with uhd at the end is higher graphics. Heads up tho, stuff like the trails don't have uhd, they're just universal I guess.

Make sure you are running the right resolution according to the files you edited. In this vid I went with the HD textures so you have to set the game to HD textures as well.

Make sure you have a Geometry Dash Account. you go into the settings then click account. Click save and then delete and redownload the game. It should redownload the normal files. Remember, it's important to make a copy of the original file to keep it as a back up in case anything goes wrong.

@@CodeHiiro hey, bd is something for me!!!! I use that so I know it's a copy or a back up of another file. In the time I made the video, I'm pretty sure I renamed the end "..._bd" in order to remember that's the original game sheet copy that hasn't been modified (bd being my initials). You know in case I ever need it in case I mess something up. Depending on what your system can run, you want to use the file with _uhd at the end if you have a really good system. Then make sure you change your graphics in game to the Highest setting so you can see the changes!

Here's a couple things you can do. Make sure the file name is correct (it needs to be named exactly the same as the original unedited file). If you are editing a file with .uhd then set your game settings to the highest quality settings or medium for .HD files.

How do you edit the title screen text?
I believe that's in the GJ Gamesheet 3 file or something along those lines. You'll see the Geometry Dash logo, which sadly, you cannot edit the text. You'll need to wipe it and make you're own logo.
