Well the Skelton crew is closer to the OT timeline than the acolyte. Even though they did old republic sets but they are very limited. They will make the most money sets base on the prequel and original trilogy because that's what most people are familiar with.
The Arc 170 playset is not redeeming itself the set is dissapointing and a downgrade They should've made a UCS Arc-170 but nope we're getting a UCS Jango Fett Slave | which I won't complain but it's for the 2025 May the 4th which is completely irrelevant The anniversary is 20 years of Revenge of the Sith not Attack of the Clones they should've releases a Jango Fett Slave | back in May 2022 for the 20th anniversary for Attack of the clones But no we could a stupid Landspeeder that no one asked nor wanted it
@Silver_007_DMThe arc170 is the closest to its canon size it's even been. Even if it wasn't, I would rather have shelf room for more than two sets at a time.
I personally Really Like the ship I think it’s one of the best sets for 2024! Especially after the show this ship is a beast! I hope LEGO will take notes and make the “ Newer “ Onyx cinder in the future cause that ship looks so clean looking and would love to have it in LEGO form
The only reason I’m not bothered that SM-33 isn’t in the set is cause they just have to put him in a future set… and that gives me hope we will have a future set!!!!!
I've seen this set dozens of times in the Lego isle, and tbh never looked at it enough to even recognize what it was. Looked like it belonged with the dark falcon so my eyes justed rolled over it. Had no idea it was from skeleton crew.
Loved the shaping of this ship. I can't help but wonder if the main function could've been done in a lot less space with a few technic axles and gears 🤔 Also, Meijer had it 20% off just before Christmas 😄
In the uk this set has already been heavily discounted. I managed to pick it up for £85 ($100?). Fantastic set, yeah it would be cool to access the interior better but a great build with super cool minifigures.
This is £124.99 in the UK and I managed to grab it several months back from Smyth's Toys for £80. Not sure if it's still available but that was a wild discount for UK buyers. I think it's a set worth more than what I paid for sure. EDIT: Just checked, it's sold out online, some local stores still have it at that price so worth checking for my brethren on this side of the pond.
I got this on the 29th of November (my birthday) so about a week before the show released and I’m so happy I got because I really love the show and set
Saw it a store in the netherlands for a €100 before the show started and thought just get it, if the show sucks I'll sell it on the secondhand market. But I'm digging the show so much and decided to build the ship and it did not dissapoint! Love the minifigs and yeah everybody misses sm-33. Lets hope we get him next year!
I'm really glad you held off on this review for after the first Eps aired. I'm lovinh the show so far, and picked this up at a bargain 50euro off. As you said, bad timing means this is on sale in a lot of places in Europe. i think its a great set. Really enjoyed the build. Minifigures are great in particular Neel, who is deserving of the fan reaction. Think this is well worth getting especially if you find it on sale
I kind of forgot they made this, or that its the ship from the skeleton crew show. Its maybe a bit to clean and they could have had plants or worn sticker detail to make it creepy. Kind of surpriseing there are no lego skeletons in this set. Since there are dead space pirates on board in the show. SM-33 missing seems like a big set back he is a big part of the show. I think they could have used K2S0 painted differently. Definitely not a bad set, I might get it. Do love that its practically a flying fortress with all those guns.
The only complaints I have about this set is -Neil doesn’t have moveable legs -on the opposite side of the cockpit there’s two panels that can be moved, the top one doesn’t have as many tiles as I would’ve liked -it’s hard to put figs in the interior but it looks good -fern’s hair and face doesn’t look like it do me It’s a 8/10 to me
After I few episodes I decided to get this one, it also looks nice in a spaceport setting or as a background transporter on Tantooine for example. Well an online retailer in the Netherlands sold em for €99.95 ($105) So that was a done deal for me. I must say the build was more challenging than most other ships I have build and it first I was wondering how solid it would be since it stays a bit fragile (and I put aside some pins because they keep falling out and you need them way later in the build) But it looks and feels great in the end.
Pretty cool looking ship, but it has barely any room inside to make it a little bit functional. Just putting that lever based exhaust angling operation on the bottom would have been an elegant solution. As always, if I can think of something so basic a solution as that, as someone with next to no technic experience, Lego should definitely have had someone more capable fixing this. I don't care about the series, so this ship isn't on my radar at all, except for something intriquing to look at for a review. All this does is make me more interested in designing my own ship with that functionality, see if it can be done better. (hint: it can be done much better) Still, apart from being a little overpriced, this is not as horribly expensive as most SW sets. And with a decent selection of minifigures included, if they'd released it when the series came out, or slightly after, this could have been a small hit if the series took off. Right now, it probably does very little, which is a little sad for such a new theme within starwars, as I do think this is a decent package seeing what is included.
This ship is so well designed that just outright exhausts 1/3 of the main thrusters onto the hull. I think disney plays space engineers with thruster damage off.
So i have a few problems with this pseudo review. One: Him complaining that it can't fit four minifigs in the cockpit when the playscale Falcons can. That is because of the design of the Falcon'a cockpit, and paired with the fact the cockpit looks too big on playscale falcons because theyre only using pieces a size or two smaller than the UCS. The Onyx Cinder does not habe such an easily shapeable cockpit, so Lego would have needed to make a new cockpit piece, AND made it four times bigger to accommodate four minifigs. The cockpit on the falcons look kinda oversized, but doing the same for this set would simply make it comical. Two: the retractable landing gear. Even the playscale falcons don't have that feature, so of course a playscale Cinder doesn’t either.
I got mine just before Xmas cost me £82 over here in uk from Amazon. I found it a little bit off on instructions but that was probably me to be fair. Some of the panels seem a little loose for me and kept off whilst making adhering parts most frustrating. However enjoyed making it up the characters are great and overall build quality is good.
Man I used to watch your channel about 15 years ago or so and I've been watching a few of your videos recently since I decided I wanted to buy a few of the UCS sets since I have adult money now but $140 for this is insane compared to what I remember getting for that price back then haha.
My son really wanted that ship.... Until he saw the latest episode.... Now he wants to wait and see if we will get a different ship. He does love the minifigs. Might have to hit up whatnot for them. 👍
I get everything during the May the 4th Lego special. Everything that releases after, I'll get it the next May. Haven't gotten this ship yet, but I'm going to in a few months.
I need more tie in smaller world building sets to build up pirates and foes. I would even take a parents playset! But i really think a UCS WOULD BE IDEAL!
Learning what we did about the Onyx Cider in the latest episode, I can see LEGO using that as an excuse to put out another set, and that will have SM 33. At least I hope so.
Bought this before the show just based on liking the ship and I ended up leaving the top lever out entirely and instead building over that gap and adding some greebling. The engines all turn perfectly fine by just turning them using the wings and you don't have that ugly lever coming out the top.

@eegernades Not really a high bar to clear in terms of live action but tales of the Jedi had the best we’ve seen in recent years
Nice set.
It’s because it’s basically two ships!
Wish they made the armour off version a choice with the set. 👍🏻
I got for £80 amazon Uk.
So glad the set doesn’t spoil the twist from episode 6
Rare W for the arc170
The Arc 170 playset is not redeeming itself the set is dissapointing and a downgrade
They should've made a UCS Arc-170 but nope we're getting a UCS Jango Fett Slave | which I won't complain but it's for the 2025 May the 4th which is completely irrelevant
The anniversary is 20 years of Revenge of the Sith not Attack of the Clones they should've releases a Jango Fett Slave | back in May 2022 for the 20th anniversary for Attack of the clones
But no we could a stupid Landspeeder that no one asked nor wanted it
@Silver_007_DMThe arc170 is the closest to its canon size it's even been. Even if it wasn't, I would rather have shelf room for more than two sets at a time.
@@cutestcreeper569 Yeah but you can understand that some Collectors want the UCS version too
It would be interesting to see with two Onyx Cinder sets how a Moc of the ship would turn out with double the pieces! 🤔
Skeleton Crew was a surprise to be sure and a welcome one. The ship is missing SM-33.
SM-33 bumped R2-D2 out of my top three favorite droids. The only droid who tops him is Chopper.
I got this for Christmas it’s the best Lego Star Wars ship
I bought this set back in August don’t regret it at all such a cool set ❤
I personally Really Like the ship I think it’s one of the best sets for 2024! Especially after the show this ship is a beast! I hope LEGO will take notes and make the “ Newer “ Onyx cinder in the future cause that ship looks so clean looking and would love to have it in LEGO form
I got it for Christmas, and I couldn't be happier with it. Im disappointed that 33 isn't here but I love the ship
They changed the ship before the show even ended
I love this set, not only because it's star wars set, but it reminds me of classic space themed lego system :)
The box art suggested to me that the ship would be black but it appears much lighter grey when built.
hope there's another SC set coming and this time they'll include SM-33
Loved the shaping of this ship. I can't help but wonder if the main function could've been done in a lot less space with a few technic axles and gears 🤔
Also, Meijer had it 20% off just before Christmas 😄
In the uk this set has already been heavily discounted. I managed to pick it up for £85 ($100?). Fantastic set, yeah it would be cool to access the interior better but a great build with super cool minifigures.
Classic sci-fi style ship, good interior, minifigures worth 70 bucks; a very underrated set for what it is.
I bought it to remake it into a Knights of Ren Ship that could fit all the Knights of Ren.
It was a fun build. Like you I was disappointed they didn’t include the droid, who is one of the key characters.
I just watched the show yesterday and I got the set awhile back in a bundle . Looks like I’m keep it after all
Unique looking ship especially for Lego. Fun design. Still has room for all included figures… its a good set.
your comparison of the arc170 to the ghost and onyx sold me on it lmao. the arc 170 and c3po to go with my r2 will be here in a few days lol
ship needs to be bigger. be nice to fit the whole in the cockpit like in the show. glad you showed what it was like.
honestly good move waiting until now to review
$140 for 1300 pices is really close to that 10c a piece price actually insane for a starwars set this is how they ALL should be priced
The only complaints I have about this set is
-Neil doesn’t have moveable legs
-on the opposite side of the cockpit there’s two panels that can be moved, the top one doesn’t have as many tiles as I would’ve liked
-it’s hard to put figs in the interior but it looks good
-fern’s hair and face doesn’t look like it do me
It’s a 8/10 to me
After I few episodes I decided to get this one, it also looks nice in a spaceport setting or as a background transporter on Tantooine for example. Well an online retailer in the Netherlands sold em for €99.95 ($105) So that was a done deal for me.
I must say the build was more challenging than most other ships I have build and it first I was wondering how solid it would be since it stays a bit fragile (and I put aside some pins because they keep falling out and you need them way later in the build)
But it looks and feels great in the end.
I got it and built it just before the series came out, I love the ship and all the play features. Just gutted that they didn’t include the droid.
(hint: it can be done much better)
Still, apart from being a little overpriced, this is not as horribly expensive as most SW sets. And with a decent selection of minifigures included, if they'd released it when the series came out, or slightly after, this could have been a small hit if the series took off. Right now, it probably does very little, which is a little sad for such a new theme within starwars, as I do think this is a decent package seeing what is included.
Got two at my Walmart for $63. Clearance deals were great!
Needed SM-33 he's part of the ship and my favorite character
However enjoyed making it up the characters are great and overall build quality is good.
after the show i NEED this set 😭
Man I used to watch your channel about 15 years ago or so and I've been watching a few of your videos recently since I decided I wanted to buy a few of the UCS sets since I have adult money now but $140 for this is insane compared to what I remember getting for that price back then haha.
I like the build. Glad I found it for $100, so i got to enjoy the build without being too distracted by the price.
My son really wanted that ship.... Until he saw the latest episode.... Now he wants to wait and see if we will get a different ship. He does love the minifigs. Might have to hit up whatnot for them. 👍
Can't say I've heard of SM-33.
The rotating engines is giving DeLorean vibes 😅
More like the VTOL heavy cargo spaceship
@NathanDrake-z5w meh I never built that but im building the DeLorean rn but I can see what you're saying
This show kind of gives me Asimov Foundation vibes. Planets hidden away during galaxy wide turmoil to maybe save The Republic.
Learning what we did about the Onyx Cider in the latest episode, I can see LEGO using that as an excuse to put out another set, and that will have SM 33. At least I hope so.
These are now £80 in the uk at Smyths toys that’s about $95
can’t say i can recall no at attin
SOME WALMARTS HAVE THIS SET CURRENTLY
ON SALE FOR $120ish!
Bought this before the show just based on liking the ship and I ended up leaving the top lever out entirely and instead building over that gap and adding some greebling. The engines all turn perfectly fine by just turning them using the wings and you don't have that ugly lever coming out the top.
idk about you but i would love to see a UCS set of this ship it would be so good
