What I like the most about this video is the fact that you clearly are not a computer freak who only talks about numbers etc. You just speak about the pure use case of this machine. Thus, it makes your feedback so much more reliable and valuable. Very nice video quality btw!
I'm a bit of a computer freak myself buuuut there are plenty of other people out there that convey that information better than me so thanks for confirming that the use case explanation was more useful for people :)
I get my 14” with 1tb/32gb this Saturday…. my first upgrade since my 2015 27” iMac! 😅 I can’t wait! 🎉

Congrats on the upgrade! It's amazing how long Macbook Pros can last, I kept my MacBook around for a decade before upgrading to the 2019 MacBook. I have a touchbar and never use it either, only times I really used it was to skip through ads haha. Enjoy! 🎉

Apple's innovative silicon chip performs great, doesn't it?😄Not hearing a fanning sound is awesome, but I've once experienced heating on the back. I checked Activity Monitor and found one thing taking up a high CPU. Then I terminated it and became normal. Anyway, your unboxing makes me feel happy because I also greeted and welcomed my Macbook so much. I even talked to it like "Welcome to the world! This is your home, baby. You're gonna do a looooot of things along with me!" lol

@@techmentormaria Thanks for your interest! I went for the 16” m2 pro max. Yes, it’s expensive, but I’ll probably keep it 10 years, so I figured I’d be as future proof as possible. It’s probably overkill for my current needs.

Please do a short video of how you connect and set-up your Apple display. It appears to be a 2012, 27-inch Cinema LED Thunderbolt display. Many times it is the simple things when using a computer system, that can cause the most headaches (smile...smile).

5:22 the only thing more impressive than the M2 MBPro is what you wear: the blouse👏❤️! I have a few of the same black/grey blouse combinations - elegant and feels professional!!! As for the macbook pro replacement, I want a stylus/pen to write on the screen...so maybe need a windows laptop instead, not sure actually. Buying clothes is so much easier🤗

I always try to go for the latest tech when it's out -- maybe that's suboptimal but I feel like I'd miss out on extra power if I didn't do that

What actual 14 did you get? I was upgrading from a 2012 MB Pro, so any model was much better. I purchased the 14 inch M2 Pro with 16 gigs ram and 1 TB drive. It is blowing me away!

Why did you pick 14"? Do you find it too small edit photos / video, when you are not using an external monitor ( like when you are at a coffee shop), etc? I have an external monitor only 1/2 the time, so can't decide what size would be best. Any thoughts?
How comfortable it is to travel, I mean to ask about weight on a carryon bag
Yep I need one of those at least for the ports. I do not like to external adapter with those extensions, super annoying.
I got so used to them over the years but now that I don't have to worry about it anymore: YAY!

I have a old macbook pro 16" (intel) and recently upgraded to "M2 Mac mini" - 24 GB RAM , 512 GB storage, as i mostly work at home in desktop setups for long hours. Really M2 non-pro is also very fast.
My old macbook pro 16" (intel) i use it during travel, it gets my job done as i dosent work much during travel🙂

If I'd just spent 2k on a laptop I definitely wouldn't drop the metal connector on it twice sheesh !
I was wondering which version to buy or whether to buy the base and update the Ram through Photoshop. I'm from Windows consumes 24GB of Ram, but I see that it works fine, in the next video you could talk about how the Ram works, Thanks! Excellent video
If you use several layers, masks, filters, smart objects and work on gigabytes PSD, as well as using Bridge or Lightroom or any other creative app at the same time, definitely get the 32GB.

If you stay in 4 or 5 stars hotel in Europe, then you will get standard US outlet. But if you travel in India, then it can be a different story, unless you stay in Mumbai.
Unfortunately my parents house in the German suburbs doesn't have the standard US outlet haha

Which specs machines do you order?

I am trying to decide between 14" M2 Pro 1ith 19c GPU, 32 GB and 1 TB. I can use external storage.
For external storage which SSD do you recommend?

I am thinking of the MacBook Pro 16” M2 Max with either 64gb / 96gb ram with 4TB / 8TB internal storage. But I'm not sure if this is an overkill.
At the moment I edit footage up to 6K. In future I might edit 8K video
If u edit 4k - 5.6k footage in prores raw might take lot of space
For video editing and after effects and editing ProRes raw editing 4k-8k is 64gb enough or do I need more ?
Or do you think the 14" M2 Pro with 19c GPU, 32 GB and 1 TB is fine? How will this perform, Is the GPU good , do I need more ram?

I wish. I have a Sony A7R3 which has a bug with external microphones (love the cam otherwise) so I have to plug the yeti into my laptop and sync audio later 😫 suggestions very welcome

Would Premiere pro Photoshop n Aftereffects work smoothly on this MacBook Pro
I will definitely try having Final Cut Pro + Davinci Resolve + lightroom + a million Chrome tabs open over the weekend and will report back!

What impresses me is that you can walk down the street with a brand-new MacBook without concern. I would probably get shot two steps out the door where I live.

Little correction; it has a 10 core CPU, but 16 core GPU 🙂

Make sure it’s at least 1Tb for M2 (512G for M1) as otherwise disk IO is going to be bottleneck (smaller SSD will be not only 1/2 in capacity, but also in speed).
Otherwise it’s an awesome device to make stuff happen!

@@techmentormaria What they mean is 512 in M2 is significantly slower than one in M1 (two NAND chip vs. four) so to have comparable SSD speeds with M1, you should bump up your SSD (in M2) to at least 1 Tb.
What if you get an external ssd?
@@hereweare9011 you will increase capacity. But it will not be booting faster or loading files faster. Just buy 1Tb+ and enjoy it for next 3-5 years.

Interesting… Question: How did you not know that this new version of Apple Mac Book had/ did not have a mag safe attachment for this model? Did you research this simple fact first before making the purchase on this computer? Or did you just purchase the Apple computer to stay current with what is new? Another Question: Your 2018 model is just as current to do video editing to the level job that you presently output unto RUclips. Why would you need to spend unnecessary money on a new unit knowing that it’s over kill for your present tasks at hand? I’m only curious…

Did you say 16 Cores CPU!?! 🤔
FYI, ALL version of M2 comes with 12 Cores CPU except the standard one where it still has 10 CPU.
One thing you gonna realize later that 16 GB of Ram is not enough especially with M processors. At least get 32GB. Why? Because since you gonna use it for video production, bigger Ram will avoid the swapping on the SSD. Swapping to the SSD will reduce life span of the SSD.
