I came here after people told it'amazing distortion and FX plugin, but you show it's also all-in-one mix/mastering plugin oO. Probably the best multi-FX ever.
Of course it takes a lot of skill and effort, I'm not disputing that at all. My point is that it's not even a physical object, it's software. Real objects get expensive because they cost money per unit to make, but once a VST has been created, it can be replicated an infinite number of times and no cost whatsoever. They don't need to charge what they charge, if they did then there wouldn't be any good cheap or free plugins, but there are tons. Still a great product, don't get me wrong.
Don't let this haphazard demo turn you off. Trash is the best tone modifier plugin ever made. There is a little learning curve to the trash module but the presets are excellent and will soon get you to understand the meaning of the x-y transfer function graph. There is almost nothing that can't be re-modeled with Trash. Guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, and best of all saturated vocals like no other. It's a masterpiece of a plugin.

in the beginning, to better demonstrate the filtering results you should have lowered the dry mix of the output

Trent Reznor said he used Trash2 on lots of drums for one of his albums. Can’t get higher praise than that.

Why would you have mix set to the center for almost entire demo?
Oh Izotope remembered Trash alright, and if you are a registered Trash owner, you can upgrade for $99 which is sweet.

how does someone look at this and think the new trash plugin from izotope is an upgrade 💀 T2 was clearly a decade ahead of the industry

Imo anything more than like £60 (Probably around $100) is extortion. They only charge amounts like that because famous producers can afford it.
Anywhere between £50 - £70 so like $90 would be perfect imo.
