Baking soda good, I tryed ffabreez. From wal mart. Seemed to work good last year. Cheaper than deer cover stuff. I had six point at twenty yards opening day. Down fifteen minutes into season Saw more deer and many does , next week doe down season over I will try fabreez again this year
I always keep two boxes of baking soda in my hunting clothes container. I rip the carboard tops completely off the boxes. It does a great job of absorbing odors.
I've been using baking soda over 30 yrs. for scent control . I make scent killing spray with baking soda , hydrogen peroxide, distilled water and unscented liquid soap . The walnut spray works too. I have two gal. jugs of Walnut spray from last yr. of it that I keep in dark cool place . Will it still be Good to Use ? Thanks ! Keep the Great Videos Coming ! Stay Safe & Healthy ! God Bless !
Awesome! I don’t know for sure if it will be good. I’ve never kept it that long. If I do, I freeze it. But smell it. It might be OK. Good luck this year.
If there's no walnut trees where u hunt then it will put the deer on alert or spook ,it's like walking into your house and smelling something foreign ! If u hunt pines , use pine shavings stored with your clothes , put in ya pockets and boil & make spray , also if u hunt cedars, use cedar shavings and boil and make spray also , same principal... deer know what there home range and travel routs smell like daily so u want to smell like wherever you are hunting !
Make some walnut cover scent, and you dont have to worry about being downwind. I used it last season for the first time, and it's a game changer. On one hunt, I was on the ground and had nine doe circle me at 10 yds. They fed downwind for over 30 minutes before finally leaving. I do wash my hunting clothes and leave them hang outside the entire season. I also shower with scent free soap and shampoo and use scent free deodorant. The walnut cover scent is gold
@knuckledragger2412 agree with you, but being in the mountains wind changes all the time. I personally do a few things. First, hunt the wind if possible but at the same time us Big Woods Scent Co. Cover scents. Being in the high peaks of the Adirondacks wind changes in seconds, especially when you're tracking a deer in the snow, starting sweating, etc. I always prefer a cover scent with an odor eliminator first. But let's be honest, by the time you get to your stand, you're already sweating.
You can go check out one of the scent control videos I have one about mouth Odor. I brush my teeth in baking soda and rinse my mouth out with peroxide. It seems to help. Thanks!
I use dove fragrance free soap. It's cheaper than down wind. Brush with baking soda, and hunting gear is scent lok. Is hands down the best gear. The carbon in the garment kills orders. Period.
Put baking Soda in a large hole pepper shaker and take it with you, then it's easy to apply or reapply as needed. Also, Baking Soda is GREAT for neutralizing the smell in your boots too.
I got camo dust and I make my own wal nut spray! Like you said itsa game changer for sure! Better than anything you can buy and I have walnut trees everywhere so win win! Camo dust is good but expensive! baking soda is definitely more cost effective but the camo dust goes a step further! Check it out! Good video!
Love your videos man, I’ve learned a lot from you. How long does the walnut spray last if I keep it in the freezer and also how long do you keep it in a spray bottle before it expires? Thanks a lot man
In freezer it will last about a year, in the spray bottle keep it in the fridge and out of the sun it will last 3 months if kept cold. Thanks brother! Good luck this season.
Yep I just did that with my clothes this year first time trying it in the scent blocker bag and totes I also wash my hunting clothes with it so will see I thought this up too before I watched your video, sounds great 👍 👌 🐻🐗🐂🦬🦌🫎 good hunting everyone, Steve the bow sniper USMC 🇺🇲
Yes, I think it does help just not enough sometimes. Especially walking in I would use a good a cover up scent like walnut spray and use baking soda with clothes when storing them.
Good day, on your previous videos about using walnuts my question is how to store bottles? can they be put in freezer , cool dry space, refrigerator. Thanks for your time making videos , I've used pine needles in a tote, dirt w/ leaves etc.
@@PatrickHoover thanks for replying,I came across a butter nut walnut tree where I walk my dog but just recently came across a black walnut tree that I got permission to retrieve some 👍.
Yes, I like scentlok. But clothes are just not enough, but if you use that and all my other strategies and walnut spray yes it all comes together and works perfect. Good luck this year.
No, you will have some of the dust on your clothing, but it does not bother me. If it does bother you put an under layer on that is scent free and put the baking soda clothes over that.

Hands down best scent control is called DOWN WIND. Its so good, you could smoke a cigarette & and drink a 6 pack while you BBQ. Seriously.
Great video n using the basics again !! I love it .. just made up some black walnut spray last season .. Continued Success 😎
Man I really appreciate that! I’m glad it’s working for you. Good luck this season! I sure like it! Thanks.

I use that same killing spray mix. Spray my washer and dryer prior to use and during use. It’s been money for years
Boil some water and pour it on fresh cedar also makes an awesome cover scent. Even add walnuts if you want

Downwind, the only reliable plan. Everything else is just increasing the odds in your favor a few points.

What about the scent that is released from your mouth and nose while on stand?

Best scent control is natural smoke I smoke my clothes just like the Indians did ! No cost!
Best thing is to grind up stink bugs in creek water best thing ever like a ghost

I ll use the baking soda to wash my clothes in and put them in a container
Amazing information to a lot of folks. Thanks for sharing!
Just found your video’s, It’s been said that 40% of a person’s odor come out of their head. what do you use for head gear.
Scentlok skull cap beanie one thin one and then one thicker one. When it’s cold. I’ll wear too. Early season I will wear a Scentlok hat.

Thanks, will do!
The best scent control is sitting on the ground using natural cover with your s ent spilling into ground right behind you
Here out west we do not have walnuts, however we do have juniper trees. Juniper berry spray is very good stuff.
Will the walnut juice last in spray bottles for a long period of time?
Yes, it does. If you keep it in a cool area out of the sun. It will last all fall. And Winter.
@@PatrickHoover Thanks!!
We tried the walnut spray last year!!! AWESOME making more now!! Thank you for the information
Awesome!! Good luck this season. Let me know how you do.

Good video. What gloves are you using?
Thanks! I use Exfoliating Gloves, You can also get them from Walmart or Amazon.

So you dont think scentlok works
Yes, I like scentlok. But clothes are just not enough, but if you use that and all my other strategies and walnut spray yes it all comes together and works perfect. Good luck this year.

Hi
What’s up little man!
Don't you feel gritty? I put a carbon charcoal pad in my hunting cloths tote.
No, you will have some of the dust on your clothing, but it does not bother me. If it does bother you put an under layer on that is scent free and put the baking soda clothes over that.
