It was his own fault he lost that second match. He left out necrozma way too long despite it doing nothing and letting it keep getting buffs. He should have switched out when it rested the first time

The funny thing with the first match too, is that the first explosion got rid of the stealth rocks with it. So it was a win win move right then. I was waiting for the where my rocks go!!

That Pain Split Sawk was actually kinda nutty. Never knew you could re-proc Sturdy
Sturdy isn't "survive one hit", it's "if you would die from 100% in one attack", so as long as you're at 100% when the hit that would kill you connects, Sturdy applies. People tend to think of it as just 'Sash but as an ability' but there's more nuance to it than that.

Sturdy was almost useless before Gen 5 though. That’s when they reworked it

I was curious at first why you ran a bunch of stuff with final gambit. Then I saw the sturdy/pain split combo, and I couldn't stop laughing.
I remember back in XY when trying to make competitive pokémon I had to do exp grinding via the 3 star cafe triple battles and I distinctly remember my blaziken had double kick specifically to one-shot the sturdy shieldon they used. Funny that sturdy becomes the ability that makes a competitive tier unkillable pokémon…
I remember having a haxorus with mold breaker for that
When kyogre dynamaxed I was screaming "USE MAX HAILSTORM, YOU CAN WIN THIS ALL RIGHT NOW"
Let us all relish the dynamax at the end of the first match: just to have a ridiculously large sawk stare as his pokemon died.

It's pretty sad when someone is so used to blaming their cousin for everything they try to do it here too. Wow.
I love how not only each individual Pokemon used had their own way of fighting but also how each one helped strengthen the others after having fallen. That right there is a talent in of itself.
Though it may be harder to pull of such strategies in gen 9. They lowered the Power Points of most recovery moves to 5, though they did nerf a few abilities like Protean/Libero, Battle Bond, and the legendary doggos abilities.
That is both amusing and hilarious. Toxic spikes are deadly in that game more than I realize.

A few that I can think of right off the bat-
Magearna gets the move heart swap, which switches stat changes so had he used one he could have just robbed the octillery of its stats. Moves like haze and clear smog can also remove stat changes, or use a switch out move such as whirlwind or dragon tail to force a switch and remove the status changes. If he had a Pokémon with taunt that could have also prevented a lot of the gimmicky stuff he was pulling
Multiple hit moves (dual chop, rock blast, icicle spear) will deal with sturdy no problem, or the ability mold breaker can just ignore it. His necrozma had sunsteel strike, which also ignores the targets ability when dealing damage
The problem is that most of these teams are just 6x hyper offense and no actual team building so a well-built gimmicky team like this will have a field dance tearing it apart in the most humiliating way possible
That's a tactic I've also thought about trying before in the regular games. Having a low level Pokemon with an ability or item that makes it survive an attack when it's at full health, then pain split until the opponent has as low health as it can get. And then finish it off with a quick attack.
I've been watching for about 2-3 days and these videos are so damn funny💀
