This only makes cable stretch. Adjust your handbrake shoes inside the disc rotors.

Just wondering, are there any screws you have to remove before that cover will come off?

No any screws just pop up
It's holding clips

Is there a sensor in there too? My light rarely comes on when the handbrake is yanked.

Light shouldn't come on when the handbrake is applied...

my 2005 Camry has a parking break sensor, it engages and causes the "Break" light to show up on my dash.
