the screw whips are for the Crossbone X1 Kai. the original MG Crossbone X1 Ver Ka kit includes the parts to make three different versions of the Crossbone X1. you can make the normal X1 which has the normal back skirts and the Crossbone Vanguard logo on the chest, you can make the Crossbone X1 Kai which has the back skirts with the screw whips and the Crossbone Vanguard logo on the chest, and you can make the Crossbone X1 Kai Kai(yes, that's actually what it's called) which has the back skirts with the screw whips and the skull heart on the chest.
The weapon from backskirt is called "Screw Whip" and it replace Scissor Anchors in X-1 Kai for the fight against Death Gale Squad (specifically Giri and his MS's "snake arms").
In terms of accessories, the MG crossbones (variants etc) are really killing it against regular releases. You really are getting what you paid for (minus the P-Bandai variants)
@@dr.jimeagleii4108 you crossbone not staying together? had mine a for a few months and its been fine, holds its weapons with ease and doesnt fall apart
The MG X-2 came with a cradle-like action base connector which slides on the gap between the X thrusters and the body of the core fighter. this one doesn't?
I love the overall look of the Crossbone ver ka kits but I hate the stickers with a passion. I painted mine cause I hate them so much. Main reason for picking this guy up is the weapon.
I like the fact that the swirl Mark's look alot like damage and I like that. Also the silver gundam paint marker is a perfect match for the nubs for those who wont be painting this kit
Ok I have to ask what magic did I use to my my crossbone able to hold all its weapons with no issues. Even big time reviewers have issues so I’m confused
This looks like a badass Gundam!! Love the Mobile Suit, but some of the weapons are a pass for me, the butterfly busters are pretty cool with the effect part added !! Need to add this one to my collection :)
So, do you think there's a movement away from painting these gunpla kits? I assume Bandai can sell more kits if people don't paint them; they'll be completed much faster. But I can see pretty obvious flow lines in this kit, particularly in the silver, that really would benefit from painting. Are you too busy now, ZakuAurelius, to have time to paint your kits anymore? I think with gunpla I get more satisfaction during the process than when the kit is done; anybody else?
the way the knee is assembled in this kit the lower leg is held onto the thigh by a tiny thin piece of plastic and it's a known weakpoint for the MG Crossbone kits. if you try to rotate the thigh swivel by holding the leg below the knee then there's a good chance you can just rip the lower leg off. this is made worse by the fact that this kit doesn't use any polycaps so the joints tend to be tight.
This is going to sound strange but this is my first time that I saw a Gundam in silver and I really like it, you need to mod a model kit one in silver and red.
Butterfly knife.. Also the sabers are shoulder mounted beam canons when not in use, or are used as the Core Fighters beam canons. Surprised at how much you either completely missed, or didn't understand o o; this is a MSG channel right?
The reference to butterfly knives would have required me to be at all interested in knives, which I’m not. The fact that the beam saber handles also act as beam cannons, alright, so what would have been the benefit of mentioning that? Failing to mention that small point means the whole review is a bust? Go back and watch he unboxing I’m pretty sure in the first minute I said I’m not very familiar with the story or the MS. This is a mode kit channel, not Gundam Wiki.
Holy nub-mark city! Why spend the crazy money on a coating kit when it looks like that, better to buy the regular one and paint it after it's build I think. How much is a can of metallic paint?
But then you’ve gotta scratch build the new parts and weapons. That’s gonna cost you a lot more time and effort than just buying this and repainting it
Well it's called butterfly buster because it's inspired by the real life butterfly knife or balisong.
That's interesting.
@@newtype5005 The handle of the balisong splits open to reveal the blade and the butterfly buster simulates that to some extent.
I think its could also be based on the butterfly swords which are usually dual wielded.

I'm hoping that the Crossbone Kits get a 2.0 or a Remaster soon, Built the Full cloth last year and it sure could use an update!
The ver.ka Crossbone is cool and all, but it's getting really old at this point. It's due for a 2.0.
Man imagine them using that f90 or f91 frame for a crossbone. Thing might actually stay together after a month

Hey zaku just a comment on the x0 isnt the crossbone gundam was orginally based on the f91
That is one sweet kit! I definitely have to consider buying one!
Roy Fokker would give this a thumbs up!
R.i.p.
Would rather wait for this as an RG.

Luckily got a good copy
Would using a silver sharpie to touch up/hide the nub mark work or would it be a noticeable difference in color?
They probably changed the hand peg so that it would not have the same problem of x2 that cant hold its shot lance.

Try reading the manga. It kind of requires you to watch F91, but it pays off. Crossbone Gundam is THE MOST BADASS Gundam ever.

Of course I still paint, but not every single kit I review. No way would I have time for that.
Wait... USAGundamStore sells P-Bandai stuff too??
Absolutely love the Butterfly Busters
Will get it for sure! Great review once again!

this Gundam is piloted by a blind person, yes you heard that right, one badass blind person that anyone would not want to mess with.
Kujaku also means peacock
The chest vent is molded differently, its not just a recolor...
Yes I’m aware
crossbone kit youll get a free aluminum handkerchief ...
For those wondering, you can easily get a gundam marker to paint the color because theres a lot of edge separating the place needed to be paint

crossbone is cool but one thing that makes me doesnt wanna buy it because its so smol.
Know kinda late but ofc its small lol its just about 16m big
While nice looking kit this one doesn't seem to be worth that extra P-Bandai price just to have shiny version of Crossbone Gundam.
what does p-bandai mean?

So you can create a pose where the gundam is reloading the shot gun
Maybe I would call the shotguns "buster cross-shot'
