You don’t have much experience if you think a live band can’t do hip hop, as well as contemporary pop and “read the room”. And Emcee duties are common for live bands who regularly perform at weddings. Before you give advice, you may want to bone up on what is actually common.
It has nothing to do with the amount of experience (which is a decade by the way) and as I state in most of my videos, the advice I give is based on MY experience in my area and I never said a band won’t emcee, nor did I say a band can’t play hip hop, but there are plenty that do not so that is something couples should check on. If you’re going to feel the need to comment rude things to strangers, perhaps you should listen more closely.
@@emilysummer 2:00 - 3:00 you quite literally say that you likely can’t achieve different genres, etc unless you hire a DJ. And you never said this was only in your local area of Montana. What you did was tell inexperienced brides that these elements are unlikely, and they will likely presume this means in all markets since you are representing yourself as an authority on the subject and did not specify that you were only referencing your small geographic area. This is the internet, after all, and it reaches everywhere. In my 35 years of performing and managing wedding bands, I can tell you this is unequivocally untrue in every major market. It’s possible that Montana has no really good wedding bands who regularly accomplish those items that you feel are better suited to a DJ…but I doubt that. It’s more likely that you simply don’t know who they are.
Throughout my life, the most exciting and fun wedding receptions I’ve been to have had live bands.
You get a better experience with a band. How do I know ? I'm in a band. Lol
Live band all the way!
helpful video!!
