Great tutorial. Very clear and straight forward. An update: With Mapbox's new interface as of (2/8/16) you need to go here to find the API access token:
    1. open newly created project
    2. click on Project tab
    3. click on Info tab
    4. in the Embed text box you'll see a bunch of html code with a part the looks like this:
    access_token=pk.reallylongstringofnumbersandletters'>
everything after the = and before the ' is your api access token.
There's probably a more obvious way to find it, but this is where I got it.
    Chris

    Joey,
Good stuff! One thing: "It turns out" that signing up for a free mapbox.com account is NOT something Just Any Fool can do... When I did it, I was offered three icons, Apple, Android, and web. I knew I needed Android, but I didn't know what I needed to do with what was presented next. Then I went back and assumed web, with the same result. It took some head scratching to realize that MapBox assumes by default that people requesting free accounts are DEVELOPERS. (There's a little button in the bottom right to identify yourself as a non-developer--not immediately obvious to Just Any Fool.

The new mapbox interface works if you use the mapID from the tileset. Thanks for the great work!

Maps.com is not as user friendly as compared to Google Earth. I'll stick to what is proven. Thanks for the tutorial Joey, really appreciate the video. Saved me time on not switching to Mapbox.

well the benefit is having offline maps but if you have an lte android device then you can stream the maps while you're out in the field.

Hi Joey. Is there a way to download and cache different maps and save them under different titles? For example, if I am working in two different areas and don't have access to the internet, could I call up different background maps?

    Thanks a lot Joey.
Your video isn't boring at all.
    It's very clear and educational.
    I've a question however.
When I've downloaded the map, disconnect the wifi from my Samsung tablet (like i'm on the field where i don't have wifi) and start up Tower again like on the field, it doesn't show the satellite map it supposed to.
It shows a street map instead of a hybrid map.
    What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for this video. Was able to setup Mapbox on my tab 4. I'm very new to Solo and Tower. I've just downloaded the program prior to watching your tutorials. My question is, is there a way or button I can push to get the tower app to show the map for my location without being connected to solo? So if I'm just sitting around my house, connected to my home wifi, if I want to see the map for my current location, do I have to go find it, or can I press a button and it brings it up?

yes there should be an icon on the middle left of the screen that takes you to your GPS location.

thanks for this joey but the mapbox interface is all different now. I see my MapBox acces token, but I dont see the actual mapbox id for the new style i created. - can u help?

I haven't played with this since I made the video. The map box ID should still be associated with the project you created. Take a look around for your project that you changed your map style in and see if you can't locate the map box ID

Whoops. I spoke too soon. When attempting to replicate your results, by trying to visit:
    mapbox.com/editor/
I am informed "MapBox Editor has been deprecated."
