  • Have you been told to bump your hips in the golf swing?? What if this one move (to help you shift) could be causing you more problems!
    Shift like a pro! Get your DownShift Board for 10% OFF: milolinesgolf.com/training-gear/
    In this video Milo shares with you why the hip bump could cause low point problems, and maybe even pack pain. While we definitely want to move our pressure, and even transfer weight to the lead side, a tilting away of the upper body can prove problematic. Milo helps break it all down and offers what he feels to be a better, safer, more dynamic way to go about it! We hope you enjoy this episode and look forward to your feedback.

    I’m guessing that the reason many, including a popular utube teacher, advocate bumping their forward hip is to prevent sliding and to help stay centred. To each his own I guess.

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  2 месяца назад

      Depends on the players needs. We get plenty of spinners as well that can benefit from more of a shifting approach, but by and large I don't like to see pelvis moving excessively lateral.

    Nicely explained. Unrelated to this video Milo: Do I understand correctly that you hit your fade via a slightly positive path with an open face? Scheffler 'appears' to go hard left. Clark 'appears' to be more neutral on path while holding the face.

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  2 месяца назад

      My swing direction is really neutral but because my attack angle is positive and my face angle is fairly neutral I get a fade with driver

    I’m having trouble doing this while also side bending and my path is getting very out to in. How do you avoid the shaft getting steep / outside in path when working on a rotational swing? More trail side bend?

      I’d need to see your swing to give any actionable advice. Typically the ribs are spiraling incorrectly or the arms and wrist are performing the wrong task. Have you looked into my online academy? milolinesgolf.com

      I like to think so for the most part, but there undoubtedly is a bit more extension with driver.

    Guess I need to stop watching porzach golf channel lol. Hip bump at setup is his staple move

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  2 месяца назад +5

      Depends on the player and their needs. By no means am I targeting anyone here, the hip bump has been around for as long as I can remember. On the flip side, turning in a barrel is not fully true in my opinion either as I explained in the video.

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  2 месяца назад +5

      This was definitely not directed at Porzach. He is a great coach that really cares about his players. He has his preferred way of moving and I see a few things differently.

It certainly a little offbeat kind of a rambling stream of consciousness gold mine of golf swing information. There's quite a bit of information in Wild Bill's book and also in Alex Morrison's book "A New Way to Better Golf" that is just as relevant today and is actually being taught just updated with new terminologies.
