    This Blackbeard Rework idea sounds a lot like the Deployable Cover from the first Division, where it had health like his gun shield does

    Why did the implement Blackbeard?
    The answer is easier than you'd think. In an interview the devs said they had no idea headshots would become the meta.
    They just put it in as a nice feature and were honestly surprised to see people purposefully go for headshots.
    And that answers a lot of other questions...

      His shield is pretty big. Also black beard players don't have good aim and gamesense which is why you're landing alot of hits on his shield.

    Simple fix for the Blackbeard idea: make his deployable shields completely transparent like the glass walls on the stadium map. That way neither side will be going into the fight blind, but it still provides cover.

      Only issue I see with this is peekers advantage and the fact that now they can see you and you can see they but they will be able to shoot you before you see them stand.

    #Sundaymailbox How would you feel if they buffed warden by making it so he could see an outline of the flash/candela/smoke or whatever as it gets thrown? Would this do nothing or could it be a nice quality of life buff?

      Tbh I say that back in the day when glaz was “op” they should revert it back like that for both glaz and warden because both are useless right now and both of their guns low key blow so it won’t be op if they reverted this change with glaz and make it new to warden

    #sundaymailbox i think ubisoft should add specified playlists to the test server for random changes that they can try out, even if they dont make it into the main game. they could make weird modes like no leaning and stuff like that. I think that they could do a lot with a system like this.

      Yes i'd like this. I'd like to see stuff tested to further reward teamplay, tactics and strategy, instead of just mechanical skill CoD gameplay. Like make it so shooting while moving you have more recoil so somewhat negating peekers advantage.

    Suppression in IRL is a mental thing, the fact that you have no respawns in siege and you die quickly gives a mental suppression thing already.

    Black beard will be more op with that rework imo like u throw ur shields at doors into site but a air jab above shield and gridlock floor and plant and when they try to get in they just get flinged and die

    The distortion effect from shooting in an area of someone would really benefit lmgs and prefiring with them.

      Maybe a light suppression effect could be added exclusively to LMGs? Sometimes, their mobility disadvantage gets you killed because you can't peek and snap on target with them as quickly as ARs and SMGs, so you get killed with your crosshair just a few pixels off the enemy. A suppression effect, even a light one, could help to offset that disadvantage, at least in that situation, by hindering the enemy's aim and hopefully evening out the time-to-aim for both parties. The only question is whether LMGs need a buff like that, or if their current disadvantages are necessary for overall game balance.

    I think for barrels,
    heavy barrel: slower ads speed, reduced overall recoil
    Light barrel: faster ads, increased overall recoil
    Marksman barrel: extended range, less first shot recoil, limited to DMR’s (and Glaz / Kali)
    I think a 3rd grip (or more grips), would be nice, change up how a gun feels and cater towards play styles.
    Angled, reflex, light barrel, comp? = running, gunning, spraying.
    Verti, 1.5-2x, heavy barrel, flash hider? = hold long angles w/ no recoil

    I think i have an idea for NØKK rework : nokk cant activate traps while using her gadget like lesion capkan proximity alarms that would make her picked more and being able to sneak into site without activating any traps and get caugh. But frost will be a counter for one more operator [ amaru and nokk ]

    I noticed that killing a defender who’s standing still during a lion scan doesn’t give lion an assist. Similarly, a defender shooting a Iana Gemini then getting taken out by Iana’s teammate doesn’t grant Iana an assist even though she provided intel for her teammate.
    I hope to see gadget assists by the end of this year.

    #sundaymailbox What do you think about a mechanic for different mag sizes? Like a smaller magazine would have a faster reload for players who always like a full magazine. And then a bigger drum mag with more ammo at the cost of reload speed, which would better suit players who like to prefire and mag dump on their enemies.

    Headshots are a important mechanic in the game, so are footsteps and I don’t see people complaining about caveira ability. Doesn’t make sense

      yea the argument that “his shield breaks one of the games core mechanics” can be applied to numerous operators yet bb is the only one getting shit for it. pulse has wall hacks. that could be considered game breaking and in my opinion is more of a nuisance than bb’s paper shields.

    What do you think of an operator that can place down plasma barricade for either door way or windows. The applications of the barricade could block gunfire or other utilities, however you can walk though it just fine. And maybe it could also pin that attacker like a Prisma when going through it. Of course you can easily destroy it if you are on the side that has the weak point and you can emp it or something. What do you think?

    My idea for a Blackbeard rework, he has a black transparent rifle shield on the side of his gun that has a peek home in it and it can’t be destroyed and it only covers his head when he’s aiming and leaning, that’s his passive, his actual gadget is that he can change his ammo type, 7.62 and 50 AE, so he can chamber his rifles in two different calibers. His fragile would be chambered in 357. Just so it doesn’t seem too much to have a secondary also chambered in 50AE, in case you forgot the rifle shield will have a peek hole and only covers his head so you can land body shots regardless if his peeking a window(something you couldn’t do when he first came out) and with the peek hole you can still counter him.

    I love the blackbeard idea. Imo they should make it similar to the tower shield that we've seen in leaks. If he had one deployable remote controlled tower shield that he could operate while friendlies push from behind it. Once he dies, it becomes a stationary full body shield.

    The suppression effect shouldn't probably be a thing, however something similar that could be useful is tagging, like slowing down the enemy, that would make 3 speeds less useful, you could make them slow down more than 3 armors would when shot and such.

    #SundayMailbox What do you think about having the option to choose between buck shot or slugs on some shotguns like the Bosg? I think this would make the Bosg more viable and could be used as an alternate to dokk's mk14 or used with vigil to open rotates while roaming or modify sight without using impacts

    1:30 it does make sense, because most annoying thing in Siege is to die from random headshot. Levelcap made video about it back in 2015-2016, and i am surprised that community of Siege mutually agreed that 1 OHS is actually a good thing in competitive FPS...

    honestly for more grips idea:
    1. A grip that reduces horizontal recoil, but increases vertical. Would be a good choice for the SMG12/Scorpion for example.
    2. A grip halfway between angled and vertical, as in you get slightly reduced recoil and reduced ADS.
    Bonus, I think iron sights should have a benefit of making you aim down the sights faster as well, as right now there's no clear advantage to using irons as opposed to optics aside from maybe Bandit's MP7.

    A new shield op for attack. Kind of the size of blitz shield. A pistol and as a oparator gadget a taser gun that can drop defenders to the ground for about 2 a 3 sec. No damage from te taser just a good old shock that drops you on the floor. Max 3 reloads for the taser gun and a limited range of 5 to 10 meters

    I think it would be cool if the Blackbeard deployable shields would be like Mira windows, where when you are behind it, you can see the other side, but the people on the other side can’t see you, if that makes any sense.

    I had an BB rework idea yesterday, instead of having a shield that covers his head, he has a shield like one the The Division 2 has that you can attach your primary into it and it covers your body except your head.

    I’ve always though a good BB rework would include his gadget being more visible. For instance when he wants to deploy his shield he goes through an animation, similar to a breaching charge, that well “explode” the window like a Mira and he becomes totally stationary. Maybe he could do it to doors but it’ll leave his lower half exposed

    Maybe he gets deployable shield drones. Honestly I feel like he should just get massively reduced damage through the shield instead of blocking bullets entirely, but this sounds cool too.

    i can see that BB gadget, you throw it down, then it extends these see through panels and they form a small see-through shield. could be blow up with an impact or c4

    What do you think of just giving him flinch when his shield is shot? The bullets impacting the shield should realistically impulse on his gun and knock it around. Since BB’s main problem right now is that the fraction of a second he can’t get killed (with good positioning) is enough for him to get a free kill. This will fix that problem, making the shield purely an extra life after nearly getting shot in the head rather than a one-second immortality barrier for peeking, since he would find it much harder to aim or control recoil but still get the time to duck back behind cover. Maybe buff up his shields by 30 health so it can absorb an extra shot as compensation?

    I’ve literally been submitting my idea for a attacker shield since Monday mailbox started lol. My idea was a throwable gadget that releases a foam like wall that hardens over time and has a set amount of hit points.

    To be honest, i think they could make the no grip attachment mean something probably, also wouldn't mind a much smaller version of MW's Gunsmith in Siege, much smaller because there are a lot more guns and the loadout system works a lot differently, wouldn't want OP gun setups, just more customisable.

    I always dreamed about a Genoese Crossbowman like operator, with a shield and pistol at the start and he can crouch and fix the shield in the ground like and deployable shield, but for attack. Then he pulls a primary gun being a shotgun for close combat or a DMR for long distances. For loadout, I recommend the CAMRS (Buck) for the DMR, the SG-CQB (Doc/Rook/Twitch/Lion) for the shotgun and the Q-929 (Lesion/Ying) for his secondary.

    Another thing to help the frustration with the rework is to make the shield clear. Defenders can see whats happening on the otherside and counter it.

    9:04 i think that a Heavy Barrel could be cool for R6. Having Better DPS in exchange for higher recoil could be a pretty cool mechanic for the guns like the M12 that have awful DPS but really mild recoil. Thoughts?

    What do you think about adding operator milestones to unlock elite and legendary uniforms? Also what do think about adding a system the correctly balances ranked teams. For instance if there’s 4 level 50-60 players in the ranked match, two of them would be placed on each team

    Maybe you just deploy similar to a normal deployable shield? It will help balance by increasing the risk but would decrease the frustration of deploying.

    For black beard thing, I was thinking that what if you made the shield clear like the current design on it. So if someone is planting behind it, then you could see if they were doing so

    I think that the bb change would be a niche pick for a pocket strat. And if you make the deployable shield for bb see through like stadium map. And I think that this would add value to tachanka rework.

    What if it was more realistic? Like it shot out self balanced spikes that injected into the ground and you could instantly shoot out a second spike where you want up to a certain distance and a kevlar sheild shot out to the secondary spike to create a ballistic cover with 250 health.
    I feel like this could avoid the issue the prisma has.

    What do you think about the idea of their being a mmr difference between players during placement matches? I’ve played multiple ranked matches where a couple much more experienced and skilled players are boosting players of much lower mmr because it is a placement match. It is really frustrating and I think they should implement it.

    The shield could work like a blitz or Monty shield when he has it equipped and he just deploys it on the ground in front of him

    For blackbeard, i think he should be able to deploy a cache with heavy helmets that you can put on like rook's armor plates, and that helmet can absorb 1 headshot before breaking, it will make blackbeard more useful for the team

    I think there should be a small frost buff to where you would have to shoot it for it to break but if you hit it there can be a similar animation but with your arm or hand and you get knocked or really damaged. That would probably make more people want to play that op but that’s just my opinion.

    I think that the suppression system is already sorta in siege with the white markers when a bullet goes right by you because normally someone would think huh I almost got hit maybe I shouldn’t peek that

    An idea to expand the Blackbeard rework, literally. As soon as he throws it down it expands in two directions having no minimum size while having a maximum. This would allow you to place it in those smaller places

    What do you think of an attacker that can reinforce walls? Could be a throwable reinforcement. Could be used for either cover or to block certain routes. On the other hand, what about a defender that can breach through reinforcers wall?

    unpopular but obvious solution is just to bring a shield operator and have him crouch in front of you to get the same effect as bringing a deployable shield

    They should add like 50-100 hp to the banshee and give it weak spots on the sides like the bp camera so you can shot it with multiple shots on the front a one shot it on the sides

    #sundaymailbox Hey Mat, Hope u doing good! I was wondering if you think it would be a nice idea to add a different hit marker sound when you shoot someone in the neck and/or shoulders. I often find myself frustrated at "headshots" that in the heat of the moment I didn't realized I missed. The game is far better with headshots than way back when, but I think this feature would easy many scenarios.

    Monday Mailbox: What do you think about being able to make a list of 5-7 operators on offense and defense that if you are random picked it, will choose from. It could prioritize #1 then going down the list if that op is taken or banned. This way we won’t always get stuck with Tachanka and Blitz.

    Maybe they could change blackbeard to be more like castle. For example his throwable gadget would be used on doors/windows similar to castle

    #SundayMailBox How would you feel if the devs decided to remove run outs in the game? There have been many times where I’ve been ran out on and I’ve died or I’ve run out on someone and they’ve died. It then begs the question if Defense should only be able to shoot out windows or to better balance and let Attack prepare for a run out, have the defender be detected immediately. What you’re humble opinion on this?

    Attachments could change ads speed and walking speed since movement is very important in seige

    #sundaymailbox I have a better Blackbeard rework: give him a 800 health shield again, but have it cover his body, basically turning him into iron man. Don’t put it on the Test Servers, just immediately patch it in out of nowhere and then Ubisoft can just watch the chaos and give an evil chuckle

    Blackbeard rework and supression system is stuff they could easily stick on the test server and see how it goes, with no promise of any of it going to the live server. Personally I think the games becoming more like CoD, where players with superior mechanical skill and gunplay are trumping players trying to play tactically, so the supression system could be nice to stop those quick peek spammers and such. They could also test more things to slow the game down like for example shooting while moving increases recoil, to make it so players holding the angle in a gunfight have a slight advantage, instead of the peeker having advantage.

    Simple Kapkan rework: Keep his laser invisible, revert his gadget to a one hit on 3 speeds, heavy damage to the other two, but only give him 2. This may cause operators to respect his gadget without it being too good.

    What if for a blackbeard rework you could put a mira window type gadget on the bottom part of windows. It could be destroyed by explosives. Could help play into his strength while rapelling and could help the team.

    They would probably rather make that as a new operator though.
    Plus deploying and such is way too inconsistent to have on attack, a side that already struggles with time and positioning.
    I can see the idea being great on some parts, but also very useless on others, you will probably just end up benefiting a defender if the shield ends up closer to them than it does to your team since seeing through the shield is easier when you're closer, you can just end up giving them a full body cover.
    But it can be very useful on some places like throwing it on a place where you need to rappel in, such as the window on penthouse of Coastline, just toss one on the couch and there, you got a full body height shield to cover your plant and peeks.

    Blackbeards shield doesnt matter, you can get rid of it really quick and if they are trying to peek you can should the corners to get rid of it. I have seen it get blown through so many times.

    Monday Mailbox: i think Ubisoft isn’t giving enough options and maybe attention to consoles. Us console players can’t change our button load out and mnk is ruining the experience for a lot of people. i’m sure with Ubisoft they have the resources to at least do something about it. there are also things on the graphs that don’t always reflect on consoles. what do you think should be done about this?

    #Sundaymailbox Regarding the Blackbeard rework, the tactic (red it in book about GROM) used by special forces on ships was welding the door of corridor or room they cleared before. The construction of big ships allowed the terrorist easy "rotation", around the small teams using other corridors, decks, etc. Similar to that Blackbeard could be an offensive Castle- operator that can put 1-3 barricades that will take few punches (less than Castle's panel) before breaking or one utility, be it C4 or impact nade.
