Love the grey scotch bright tip.. Norton makes some already cut 6in Round, might check them out. I love washing with grey scotch bright and soap and water as final prep.
Turned out amazing! I want to thank you yet again pharraway because I saw your video on how to fix hail damage before tackling a hail damaged roof and hood. Instead of grinding to metal and bondo-ing and blocking like a caveman for days, I used the evercoat ultra high build and you saved me so much work and it looks like glass man. Can't believe how easy it was. I can't thank you enough
Wow dude that Mustang was as rough as a badgers butt but it looks better than it did when it was brand new ! Amazing work I really enjoy your vids Pharraway 👍
Can we use this trick of sanding and re applying clear coat on hyundai stardust colour (metallic grey type ) or it is only for solid colour like your red ?
Excellent lesson, these old school cars do not have seems like the newer cars, people try yo blend these, but to me the way you showed this will yield the best results. New watcher here because of this video! Thanks for not cutting corners.
If orange peel isn't a concern, then could you not use a spot blender (blending solvent)? It allows you to blend in an area of clear, especially over small areas like the rocker rails and pillars.
Hey Brother, after color sanding a new paint job I saw some distortion in the reflection of the paint when in the bright sun. I think I block the primer on one of the doors by hand and made some groves with my fingers while sanding. How is this best repaired. Thanks, great videos
Good video! Quick question, I burned a few edges wet sanding to flow coat. 2 coats on base 2, coats on clear, after I fix the burns with the base. Do I need to clear the repairs separately, and wet sand them? Just clear the entire car like u did in the video?
Awesome work bro 👍 I have wet sanded my car down with primer already on it , but some parts have the original colour starting to come through again. Should I be priming the whole car down again ? Before adding my 3 coats ?
That turned out BEAUTIFUL! I'd really like to see a video or photo after the car is reassembled and ready to show. Question: Is this fix also suitable for a tricoat with metallics and pearls? Or is this only possible for solids? Either way: I've seen someone else demonstrate a flow-coat--can't remember which channel. I'd already been pondering whether I should go that far with my truck, but I am tempted. (I'm probably running out of warm-enough weather for it, though).
That area that you touched up and repainted, on the right quarter panel, didn't you have to scuff it up like you did the rest of the car? It looks like you just shot the 3 coats of red on and didn't scuff...
Sweet! Working on a 67 myself, so I’ve really been enjoying your videos. Just curious what the difference would have been to just use 800 grit vs that grey scotch brite?
Just done my very 1st candy paint job on my Goldwing last weekend using information and techniques you provided in your videos. In most part, it came out great, I think but, found few mistakes on several parts. One was candy dry spray in tight areas that I didn't spray enough, afraid of creating runs. Few very inconspicuous striping on some parts too and ONE(😁) run in clear coat. Is there any way to correct those mistakes or do I need to repaint the entire part? White epoxy sealer followed by 2 coats of fine silver metallic base, coat of intermediate clear with White Diamond pearl, 3 coats of Hawaiian Blue Candy and finished with 2 coats of clear. All paint except sealer was Urethane with reducer and some with hardener. Could you do a video on how to correct that or is there a way to do that. Thanks for excellent videos, without them, I couldn't have done anywhere near as "good" as I did.
@@PHARRAWAY I repainted those that I didn't like the way they turned out. Also come across another annoying issue with this Iwata gun I bought. The cup's lid have this black plastic vent that dripped paint on couple of parts! How can I prevent that? I had to sand and repaint several parts because of it. Not only time consuming, it's getting fairly expensive with coat after coat of sealer, base, mid-coat clear with pearl, Kandy...my finger prints are nearly gone, so is my wife's, who is helping me with sanding chores😁👍
In your other video about "How much paint do I need" you said a gallon and a quart. But then you gott 3 coats of clear out of just a quart? Or did I misunderstand the video? Thanks.
Help... What did I do wrong I painted my car metallic black and I can see all the filler spots that I used to fix some of the dents in the roof I block and send it the car 3 times but still I can now see the shapes of the filler in the roof through the new paint
Dam primo having hard time shooting gloss black parts coming out like your wall texture in your home use if a black widow gun you think it’s the gun compressor or mixture 😔
Looks great. You like to bomb it on there to. If you watch the video closely your gun got closer to the car as you got close to the end. Your better than me. what up with the step ladder for a mustang. Your one of those little men that shows up at night and gets everything done . Nice job no lifting.
Great lesson Pharraway. I picked up quite a few tips to put to use 🤝
awesome brother
Hell yeah man, like that trick with the scotch brite
Flow coat! It’s a good thing you got the run. Who wants to buff anyways
You are correct brother I hate buffing

awesome
I just save the parts I cut off using them for where I scuff by hand
Fantastic tips and excellent instructions for repairing a problem like that. I especially like the gray scotch-bright trick.

Excellent tips my friend!
I could think of a hundred uses for that blower lol.
Mustang is looking real nice.
The blue car you did looked great, the few bugs / dust nibs would have cut right out. I would gladly have you do work for me

Looks great, learning so much from your videos.
Thank you
Just another beautiful job!!
You are making that little Ford look amazing 👏!
It's getting there
Hello, you mentioned the DA - did you mean that you used a DA polisher? Same one used for polishing/waxing ? Isn't using a sander a must? Thx
no I used the sanding D/A
Awesome lesson once again. Yes I do really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Very helpful. Looks great. Also looking for old plate to send you.
Thank You brother
Great do over but I would just get orange peel in the second coat too. Black Widow 1.3
💯🔥 great job...got my tips for today
Nice job 👍🏾
Awesome job thanks for all your help 👍🏿💯
Great job me gusta señor. Salió de maravilla
Gracias amigo
Excellent work 👍
I flo coat most of the cars I paint
Gives you a nicer finish
I like the grey scoth tip can I ask you what was your gun settings on the mini ani ? Thank you for the video stay safe farraway
I had it wide open on everything at 20psi
Another great lesson. Thank you...
I cannot wait to see it finish it's looking hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Excelente trabajo, gracias por compartir

yes I could have used it but don't really like that product
Non metallic red paint is the easiest paint to fix blend etc
Looks brand spanking new Pana 👍
Lovely mate.
Great vid and awesome tips!

very nicely done

Clear the entire panel
I like your work, I might take my car to your shop. I ve seen that husky DA used in other shops, are those the ones sold at home depot?
Anytime and yes it is from home depot
Thank you for your tricks with the gray scotch pad. How long after the run of the clear did you sand down and then re applied the paint?
I left it 4 days
Great work! How many 600 grit disks did you use to sand the entire car? How do you know to change disks?
I used 4 disks and you will know when the sand paper is not sanding anymore
@@PHARRAWAY Thank you and thar car is absolutely sensational!

I have a question. So you used the mini gun because it has low pressure and that way it will not pick up the edges of the damaged area right?
correct
You call this flow coat, used instead of buffing for correction. Will any clear coat work, or is it specific to this clear coat.
@@TD-ce5ru any clear works
Where do you draw the lines between do´s and dont´s at clearcoat blend sprays ?
This is great stuff. Where are you located? Would love to bring my escalade to you for a paint job. Subscribing!

Why don't you blend it out ?
on the clear? Don't really like doing that

Clear goes farther than paint
@@PHARRAWAY Good to know. I'm trying to determine how much product I'll need to paint my car. Thanks for the reply.
How much reducer did you add too be able to call it flow coat? lol
none no need to
@@PHARRAWAY LOL just joking. Jon Kosmoski invented "Flow Coat" meaning adding 5-10% reducer in last session. If no reducer called re-clear

Didnt reprime or seal break through? U wernt afraid of getting lifting issues when adding more base?
No because the Break through was only to the primer so that's good enough for adhesion
