I just got my BCBA and have worked as a Clinical Supervisor with a caseload for a few years during my education and supervision experience in addition to the new responsibilities of managing staff. I really missed the direct service. I have gone back to direct service as a bcba. The company definitely was always pushing case loads to try to maximize profit which was frustrating to me. Especially when we had to manage some poor staff. Especially when I was still doing direct service 15 hours a week and started with 6 kids on my caseload but ended up with 18 and it was not well set up for me.

I’m considering to get my ABA with BCBA but I don’t want to do direct services anymore . What do you suggest please ? Is it also a good career to get into .

Do trainees have to pay someone who is supervising them for the hours they need to sit for the exam?
It's a market and the end of the day, so typically yes. Some do some sort of barter system (e.g., company provides them for free with a locked in contract afterwards for x years), very few do it simply to give back (but these are often the best ones in my experience!). I had a mix of paid and unpaid supervision - but I also acquired roughly 3x-4x what was minimally required do to great mentor relationships.

How did being a BACBA effect your relationships with employees who were not ABA savvy?
Don't think the title alludes to much more than you know a bit about "behavior" - the misunderstanding of that term comes with (i.e., "problematic behavior"). Long story short, helped for climbing the latter corporately and helping with select behavioral issues on cases, that's about it.
