And Manas is actually right, no singer other than Kishore Kumar can do proper justice to this song. Not that the other singers are any less talented, but the magnitude he brings to this performance is unparalleled.

Even Shaan in his interview said that he used to sing Kishore songs in college fest and functions because they were easier to sing. I personally also like many songs of Kishore, but I am not going to be biased. I may like Saeed Anwar or Inzamam as a batsman , but I cannot say they are better than Tendulkar. That is unfair.

The Khans have action hero and romantic hero persona film under their belt, also their careers are varied, not one type like Bachchan.

Dream come true to be born as an Amitabh Bachchan and Kishore Kumar Fan. growing up watching these magical artists and singers. What dream days were those. Gone so soon.
This is why Rajesh Roshan didn't do justice to his talents/didn't get the opportunities as Laawaris(1981) had 3 big musical hits 5 years from his musical debut Julie(1975) which was a success also. Kishore Kumar sounded brilliantly in Chookar mere Mann ko(with a soft romantic rendition) Tere jaisa yaar kahan(sad soulful rendition) and Zara Zamana Haseeno ka deewana(Energetic upbeat dance anthem-my personal favourite as no one else could have done it justice like KK who sings full throttle sounding awesome in the process) All this under the tutelege of Rajesh Roshan who was young and upcoming threatening the old timers like Laxmikant-Pyarelal, RD Burman and Kalyanji-Anandji. He could have been the first to break their manopoly but instead it was the disco phenomenonal heralded by Bappi Lahiri with his music being instrumental with Mithun and Jeetendra-SriDevi South inspired starters. The decade of the 80s should have belonged to Rajesh Roshan but he underachieved and admitted himself that younger competitors like Anand-Milind then overtook him after 1988. The talent was there just look at how he fuses the sitar with Western instruments which is a beautiful aesthetic sound produced in the last verse. He should have brought melody back then could have got more plump projects in the 90s outside his brothers production house. Such a shame that his talents wasn't properly utilised or given the required opportunities.

This is why Rajesh Roshan didn't do justice to his talents/didn't get the opportunities as Laawaris(1981) had 3 big musical hits 5 years from his musical debut Julie(1975) which was a success also. Kishore Kumar sounded brilliantly in Chookar mere Mann ko(with a soft romantic rendition) Tere jaisa yaar kahan(sad soulful rendition) and Zara Zamana Haseeno ka deewana(Energetic upbeat dance anthem-my personal favourite as no one else could have done it justice like KK who sings full throttle sounding awesome in the process) All this under the tutelege of Rajesh Roshan who was young and upcoming threatening the old timers like Laxmikant-Pyarelal, RD Burman and Kalyanji-Anandji. He could have been the first to break their manopoly but instead it was the disco phenomenonal heralded by Bappi Lahiri with his music being instrumental with Mithun and Jeetendra-SriDevi South inspired starters. The decade of the 80s should have belonged to Rajesh Roshan but he underachieved and admitted himself that younger competitors like Anand-Milind then overtook him after 1988. The talent was there just look at how he fuses the sitar with Western instruments which is a beautiful aesthetic sound produced in the last verse. He should have brought melody back then could have got more plump projects in the 90s outside his brothers production house. Such a shame that his talents wasn't properly utilised or given the required opportunities.
