"I don't know why the NAACP and others are not fighting against the pictures that are exported of black people..." This is why Black Panther was so special and why there is a staunch recast T'challa movement because of what imagery can do.
Sis our organizations don't because they are complicit. We have no organizations because we don't fund any organizations.
We have no politicians because we don't fund any politicians.
We have no leaders because ours were deleted, imprisoned or forced to flee America during the height of COINTELPRO 1960 - 1983.
The Dr. King we know is the 1963 I have a dream King. Few of us know the 1967 We coming to Washington to get our check, Reparations Dr. King. Fewer still know about his last book "Where do we go from Here?" Where he warned us about the liberal friends in the republican, now Democrat party.
This truth is simply too scary for most.

I wish that Somalia will get that act together to end the carnage that has gripped the country for more than the past 30s something years, what's interesting is that they pride themselves that they're only country in Africa to have one language and religion but not able to put their differences aside, just let everyone know that Somalia is not the only country in Africa that speaks one language and the other country in Africa is Madagascar if, don't believe find out yourself and the language spoken in Madagascar is called Malagasy. Until the continent of Africa decolonsied their minds set we have a long way to go and please don't get it twisted because I wrote this as an African through and through.

I understand what you're saying and I wish all of that as well as an African. But it's not that easy when you have the power of white supremacy constantly causing disruption, confusion and division by arming certain groups to fight against each other, orchestrating coup and putting their puppets in power etc..Africa united as one is our dream but its not that easy. I agree that a decolinization of the mind the Emancipation from mental slavery has to take place before there's any form of unity. I hope and pray the younger generation understands that. One 🤎

Fascinating guests usual Dr. Hunter. I remember my brother relating this story to me where he was friends with this Japanese student and as her classmate at her request he was assisting her with an assignment. So my brother went to her home to assist her and he noticed that her parents disapproved of him. Later on when all of them got to speaking, her parents told him that he was the first black human they had been that close to and most of their impression of black people was by looking at the Maury Povich tabloid paternity show.

Having close contact and friendships/roommates with several people coming out of countries such as Ethiopia, Somalia, and southeast Asia. Culturally alot of these communities already have issues with colorism that is embedded into their culture, their issues with Black Americans stems not just from media perception but from their bias for Light skin. Black/dark skin= poverty and the bottom of society. I don't feel not 1 ounce of empathy for them because they come here to the united states with a negative view of Black Americans and sadly alot of them hold on to those negative ideologies even after meeting educated successful Black Americans. They only reach out to us after they experience ugly racism and rejection. Middle Easterners and North Africans included.

This was a great conversation. The way the Discovery Channel and others portray the Continent is illegal. No cities, no nothing. Boyah Farah describes being in America the same way that a young African brother [don't remember his country] talked about our workplace. He didn't let them break him, either. And Dr. Hunter, your explanation on how you see the way that the Continent was conquered by the smaller white countries was brilliant. This book goes to the top of the list.

What your guest expressed about the biggest “teacher” of Black is Hollywood is so sad and true. I work at an organization where there a large number of foreign nationals are employed from Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. When they first come a lot are stand-offish when they first encounter African-American because their view has been shaped by the propaganda that has come out of the US. Unfortunately we as black people have in some ways propagated these misconceptions. As you always said we need to control our own narrative.

The west are mortified of black peoples’ self actualization and all around success. They have, with laser and targeted precision made a systematic and concerted effort to diminish everything black and African, in order to perpetuate insecurity and low self esteem amongst all black people.
Far be it for them to project Africa as a continent rich in culture, joy, peace of mind, identity, heritage, richness of spirit and wholesomeness. This in my opinion, is one of the greatest travesties they have committed. And of this vile attack on Africa and Africans, via their books and Hollywood, they ought to be supremely ashamed!
My soul is constantly renewed whenever I visit my lovely glorious Africa! I literally go to Africa when I’ve been grizzled by America to restore my spirit and sensibility! God bless Africa the loveliest Continent on Earth!

@@KarenHunterShow Thank you for your response Ms. Hunter.
I just wanted to say I do READ. I also read statistics, and statistically the issues black immigrants face is very different from those faced by native blacks. They come from completely different cultures and don't share any of our attitudes towards culture or race relations. Funnily enough there is actually an African person in the comments section of one of your videos who said this, but somehow I am the bad guy for pointing it out. I saw your interview with Dr. Joy DeGruy and you lamented that not enough young people know who she is or who you are, but I am a young person who does. I am simply sharing my perspective and I think I speak for most of GenZ and Millennials when I say, those are not our people. I think it's time for the black community's elders and leaders to focus their altruism inwards towards the new generation of native blacks, whom are more likely to have been treated poorly by the immigrants in question. As a young person I hope you will consider my stance and my engagement.

There is one species of human on this planet and that are humans. Therefore white people are the same people as Black people. THE SAME. The people who live in Europe became pale VERY recently, like within 20-30,000 years. You're accusing white people of being different to you when there is no difference between them and you except some physical features. The difference is CULTURE. It's nothing to do with "race" it's to do with culture. You're doing exactly what white supremacists do. You can't say Black people created the world and the world's cultures because we ARE ALL BLACK and all FROM AFRICA.
