My husband's favorite band was Pearl Jam. We sang this in the car, I swear I could feel his energetic love for me through his fingers as we linked hands, windows down, blaring Backspacer. He'd sing at the top of his lungs and had such a beautiful voice. He was such a wonderful, talented musician and writer and an incredibly loving person.He passed away Jan 1st of this year. I played "Just Breathe" for him at his funeral. Fly high, love [ JMW 7-20-88 - 1-1-2013 ] love you, more than anything

This song always reminds me of the largest battle of addiction to opiates. They were some dark days. But Im up riding high amongst the waves!! Clean for 3years

My favourite Pearl Jam song. I am a surfy chick from way back and really believe we need to conserve the Oceans and this world. Or we are going to pay the price. really shocked that this song didn't have much success on the charts in the US. It is a gem. Backspacer is a killer album from Pearl Jam.
Backspacer was the CD I listened to in 2009 as I drove down and up the mountain to visit my brother as he lay dying in a hospital due to alcoholic hepatitis. I have a tattoo that represents my brother and "Unthought Known", but this song, ATW, can easily bring me to tears. I'm grateful to have a band to love so much and whose music helps me through difficult times.

Wow Cassandra - I feel the same way, my husband passed away 10 years ago........Pearl Jam and Temple of the Dog bring me right back to the first time we heard Eddie's voice.......we have a daughter, she's 14 and loves Eddie too.....music spans everything, generations, time, space.....it's amazing....

I loved the song since I first heard it... but somehow today it made more sense, it got deeper.. I watched Jack Johnson's concert on 8/18 with friends, my wife and daughter... so I was watching the video You and Your Heart, thinking of the part where it said "shouldn't feel so far apart". My heart and I used to be so far apart.. but then my wife made me feel as if I had "a soul that has been saved" so I had better say it "loud than too late".
Somehow everything gets me back to PJ.

there is always an album that you heard for the first time that change your life forever for me that album was ten I was eight years old . I love Pearl jam In high school i convinced a friend i was dating Eddie Vedder. Pearl jam got my though high school and my home life.
This song is great when your board is on top of your car, you got your coffee, and its 6 am and your cruising to the beach. I think this is my new PJ video! Only some people understand the ocean, you get the people that come to the beach to party, and lay around and leave cigarette butts and trash everywhere. Then there are the people that live and breathe the ocean, play in the waves, and respect the beach.

Even though this song was written and conceived long before Big Companies and the US Government, it has an amazing new meaning to the events going on in the Gulf. As a longtime fan of PJ and all members from past and present, this video should be a warning as well as a cherished memory of what our oceans should be: a gift to behold and not tarnished.

I saw them in St. Louis not long ago and it was all about the music and it was the best Rock Concert I have seen since I saw U2 during the Vertigo Tour.
The Adelaide show reminded me that we are all human.. that show was magic and still today are under it's spell. This song is Pure Love Magic. Thanks Pearl Jam for Being such a huge part of my life.
