Starting his singing career back in 2020 as a treble / boy soprano, Cormac’s angelic voice earned him a Decca album, four yesses on Britain's Got Talent and a place in the final of BBC Young Chorister choirboy /girl of the year too.
Now at the start of a new chapter with his lower changed voice! Cormac has just recorded 3 new songs, again under the watchful ears of Dominic Ferris and he can’t wait to share them with you too.
There’s a second CD album (self-funded this time) due for release in November too. ‘Empty Chairs at Empty Tables’ Cinema Paradiso and True Colours are just a few of the tracks that will be on it.

I’ve already shared new voice videos on my other social media (links in About) but they were shorter videos, this is the very first time that I’ve actually shared a whole song.
It was a very wet day in Brighton, we’d already played dodge the thunder storm, twice! But even though most people just walked on by 😊 Henry and I had a great time. I don’t think I’d have been brave enough to do it on my own though, so BIG shout out to all the young buskers who do.
It’s been a busy few months. I’ve recorded three new tracks in my new voice AND my SECOND ALBUM with all my later boy treble songs, like ‘Empty Chairs’, ‘Cinema Paradiso’ and ‘True Colours’ comes out in November too.

I always thought I’d just stop recording when my voice changed but I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me to go back to the studio and record these new songs.

I like the simplicity of this video, which highlights your voice without tricks. It seems like many young men resort to electronic modifications after their voices drop, and their voices are lost in the effects. Keep exploring what you can do with your true voice.
i am still very much getting used to it it's quite funny when these lower notes just seem to appear from nowhere but now i know that i think it will be ok i really do want to keep singing 😊😊 thank you for watching 😊😊

thank you Cynthia I know what you mean, I am still singing my other songs too but i really do love this song, I haven't recorded it I just sang it in Brighton and at this stage of my vocal development pop songs are actually much easier on my voice, they dont demand so much range so this was a very safe song for me at the mo 🤗🤗

Hey Cormac… well done. The new sound is still pitch perfect. Of all the things that are changing, that holds fast.
It’s easy to get discouraged when puberty has its way with ur body. Just remember that you are not the first or last young boy with a beautiful voice that has gone through the change. You seem to have shared that you struggled a bit but you also have certainly weathered the storm.
I don’t know if you ever listened to Billy Gilman. His voice like yours was so good and great to listen to. He too grew older and puberty changed his voice. However his new voice like yours is still pitch perfect and beautiful. Press on, learn what your voice will allow you to sing, and sing ur heart out. I’m certain you love to sing. Never loose that. Singing is a spiritual thing and a gift from God. Use it for His glory and He will bless you beyond your dreams.

@@CormacThompson the one thing to remember is don't strain. Stay in your lower register for now where it's comfortable and listen to your voice coaches and teachers.

When my voice broke (close to 40 years ago...I'm OLD!😂) it was so awkward and painful to listen to. You are doing beautifully! Thank you, Cormac! Kudos to you and the guitar player! I love how your song sounds. As for the busking situation: Actors say they love being in touch with their audience in theater. I, as a cartoonist, sometimes have done caricatures in a park and I guess it’s a similar, awesome feeling seeing the facial expressions and enthusiasm right there, directly. My mind pictures you in auditoriums and places with controlled light and sound situations, but this is also an experience worth having. Even with the rain some people stopped to watch you. I would have. Well deserved applause! 👏

That was smashing Cormac, I used to be quite the avid amateur performer when I was younger and remember the dread of the awkward voice transition, but you've just got to embrace it as you are doing... It all settles down eventually and it's clear you still have a career ahead of you should you choose to pursue it! I hope the right opportunities offer themselves your way and you take them both hands! :)
it is always nice to hear from any one who knows how this feels it is very strange to sing one way one day and then not sing like that anymore there were some very dodgy days especially at the beginning of this year and i know i'm v v fortunate to be able to sing again like this so soon. not sure how id manage a tougher classical piece the range of those is harder for a changing voice to manage so i'll keep being careful and hope for the best i love singing classical songs still too thank you for watching
You should choose: Either you sing in Bassvoice or Tenorvoice. I also sing Bassvoice in the gospel-choir.
@@ronny5211 and one day I will 🤗 but I can’t yet. My voice is unstable and still developing. It will not settle into the range it’s happy in for another few years so I’ll use these developing years to work it all out
