  • Hello adventurers! I happened upon this location as I was traversing around Bree and loved the feel of it. LOTRO has some of the best guitar music I've heard, quietly epic and peaceful. Settle down for an evening in the Bree Mess Hall, hearing some of my favorite guitar pieces!
Scenery and ambience were recorded on LOTRO.
All music is by Chance Thomas, Brad Spear, Steve DiGregorio, Geoff Scott, Egan Budd, Matt Harwood, and Bill Champagne (aka DarthCeltics).

Songs include most of the guitar music from Home From The Hunt, Breeland guitar, and unnamed tunes that play in The Prancing Pony.

Lord of the Rings Online - the game I adore and love but rarely play nowadays. The music sends me back 10 years to a time when I explored the vastness of Middle Earth. Beautiful. This goes into my list of favourites! :)

One of the most impressive things about this game is how it's managed to keep its unique character through 15 years of development, especially with the whole shift from being owned by a larger company to them setting up their own indie game studio.
I recently picked it up again and played through Laketown. I have to say, it really doesn't feel like a different game from when you start playing.
The level of consistency and dedication to the source material is actually very impressive, and hard to find in the gaming world.

So much nostalgia and love in this... Bree was the first big place we ended up in game and the whole world seemed so big and timeless then.

I'd love to know how big the whole game world actually is, because I think it's quite large, even for an MMO.

@@NerobyrneI’m not sure if this is still true, but there was a time at least when it held the record for the largest world in a video game (excluding ones like Minecraft that use procedural generation to make near-infinite worlds)

do you know where exactly the first song is played?

Archet Hunting Lodge I think? But also Amon Raith which is where I originally discovered it! There are other songs that are similar that it plays with in those locations too.
