The "Titanic" aria is my absolute favorite work of hers. Hearing her vocals in the background of the movie it's breathtaking. I feel like she's not only singing, but telling a story. I only wish she would receive proper credit. A lot of people I know still think it's Céline Dion, and they're wrong.
Celine Dion does not sport this kinda range... it is absolutely hauntingly beautiful the manner in which she can reach those LOW notes as a Soprano. Yeah... a Soprano. Ungodly the amount of talent this woman possesses. Dion probably tried but Horner knew about Sissel and actually wanted HER for the entire movie but the producers wanted someone FAMOUS. Listen to what critic Adam Straughan has do say regarding Sissel because he really does say it all.

Sissel married her partner Ernst Ravnaas in a private ceremony in Hov church in Norway on August 13th. No guests were invited to this ceremony which were held secretly. Our congratulations goes to the newly married couple.
She has a coupla daughters from her first marriage. Tell you what it hasta be tough as a husband. I mean this woman is adored by EVERYBODY and she's probably not home for stretches at a time. She does stay pretty much in Europe though.
Yep. For a Soprano she has the low range that not many Sopranos can reach and that is what it takes here and probably the reason that Dion didn't perform it. Celine Dion is a great singer but Sissel is in a class that only she owns. What really gets me is that she speaks English with an American (not British) dialect AND the fact that she sings in 15 different languages! She's an amazing talent AND an amazing woman. I just discovered you and you have a pure voice that comes from an equally pure heart. So far, many comments talk about the other person who "takes credit" for titanic. Well, i would just like to say that the movie business and the music industry is horrid and I am just so proud that you did not allow them to take over your life and soul. It seems you are gaining attention without them controlling you. You are a marvel keep it that way. The ones who gave into their schemes suffer greatly. I totally respect you! She probably doesn't have time. I often wonder how & when in their lives such talent is discovered and by whom. Susan Boyle and Whitney Houston were discovered in a church quire. But I kinda doubt that Sissel was first noticed there. She was born and grew up in Bergen. Now Jackie Evancho was discovered by her parents at a very young age in PA perhaps they also noticed Sissel. Sissel has stated by a very early age that she knew she wanted to be a singer so perhaps Sissel herself first noticed her remarkable tone of voice. When she sings in English I do not notice ANY dialect... you really can't tell that she is NOT from the states! That's another tidbit regarding Sissel. She sings in so many languages and NOT just those from around Norway! She is beyond amazing. I love Emer Barry too.. but she ONLY sings in English to my knowledge (and she has an Irish dialect). Emery also does not have Sissel's low range however she has tremendous vibrato (more than Sissel) & very clear enunciation... everyone is different. I've never heard Emer in conversation but I'll bet that she has an Irish dialect. But Sissel? No way she sounds like she was born in the states but you know its not from New York or Boston or the deep South (as they have very distinctive dialects).

Sissel's voice is so amazing, every time she sings it looks so effortless and her voice is always so pure. She is by far my idol and i think she is so much better than celine dion because her voice comes so naturally she is the BEST !!

When I first heard this song I didn't know it was Sissel. I actually didn't start to get more involved with her music until after a Christmas show, in which she literally made me cry with her voice.

Most songs that you listen to it’s mostly the lyrics paired with the music that can make people emotional. But she doesn’t need lyrics here to make you feel something. Truly truly amazing. I never saw the movie & therefore don't even know if she's listed in the credits. She should have sang the entire song in my opinion she blows Celine away. Horner had no say in the matter as I'm sure he would have chosen her.

I never saw the movie & therefore don't even know if she's listed in the credits. She should have sang the entire song in my opinion she blows Celine away. Horner had no say in the matter as I'm sure he would have chosen her.
