Buffy is the best. Prohecy Girl is a great episode which marked Joss Whedon's debut as a director. The whole scene where she quits is so good. "Giles, I'm sixteen years old. I don't wanna die." It gets me every time. Overall season one is very good but it's in season 2 that the show becomes a classic.
Excellent. I've seen this episode countless times, but I still get teary every time I see the scene between Buffy, Giles, and Angel when she says she quits. Brilliant acting by SMG.
To answer your question about The Master having bones when he died is because he's one of the very first vampires created which also explains why he looks different from rest. When vampires kept on being created they started to look a little bit different.

The first truly great episode of Buffy. I'm watching with my twin girls right now and we chugged through season 1. I told them after this episode, "ok, so I will tell you this now, season 1 was...well....but from this episode on, the show REALLY gets going." They were wide-eyed and excited about the show ramping up even more as they were enjoying it already.
You burst me into laughters when you said "I may have a problem now" cause I perfectly see what you meant, still I don't think being a BTVS fan is a problem.. in my point of view, it's all the people that haven't seen it yet that have a problem.

The twelve episode season was because Buffy was a "replacement show" for another show (I have no idea which) that got cancelled in mid-season. So Buffy only got half a season and was shocking and massively popular. Hence all the future seasons being full-length and having enough budget to show more than like six vampires turning to dust (note that most of them happened off-screen in the first season.) Yeah, the show went down hill after the 4th (or 5th) season, but all shows that aren't crime dramas or sitcoms do go downhill after five seasons. It's like a law of the universe. Still... Buffy was very good, and remains very good for the majority of its run. And Firefly should have had six or seven seasons like Buffy.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer is full of shock moments, you will in love with it. I really loved your reaction. Keep going and please watch Angel and react it too :)
The bit where the theme song plays & Buffy says "oh look, a bad guy" seems cheesy as hell to me now but as a 10 year old watching for the first time in 1997 that was the coolest shit I'd ever seen lol I love this show.
I've marathoned Buffy and Angel A LOT since I got hooked girly it takes 7 days for Buffy and 5 for Angel. I'm actually Marathoning Buffy again...., am on season 2 right now. The 2 BEST episodes are "Hush" s4e10 and "Once More With Feeling" s6e7. When you watch them you will understand Joss' creative Genius.
I wish you would have done I, Robot You Jane, The Pack and Invisible Girl because they are the character defining episodes for Willow, Xander and Cordelia respectively

Has anyone ever seen/know where I can get a hold of a fanmade video of Buffy's speech in Prophecy Girl, the video wonderfully integrates clips of future episodes behind Buffy during the speech, highlighting the foreshadowing within. It was brilliantly done, with Buffy questioning whether Giles will train the next slayer or 'will they send someone else?', and an image of Wesley appearing etc. If anyone has an idea of this video, please send me a link, thank you.

Here is the first big episode of BTVS. Whedon is directing and it shows, everything has turned the right way .... oh better almost everything. Unfortunately, the Master now as Big Bad no longer had enough charisma to affect completely and even the final battle is too short and simplistic, it would have worked better divided into 2 episodes. Fortunately, the initial confrontation between Buffy and Xander, I am a friendzone expert, the tragic reaction of the protagonist to the discovery of her destiny, very good SMG, and the dramatic sequence of "death" by Buffy allow the episode to make the jump quality. It should be noted that Buffy was no longer the sweet, carefree girl she was before, but the bad ass who will save the world many times in the future.
She didn't skip any episodes... Well actually that's not entirely accurate, she skipped one ("I'm a completionist" HA!) But as for the early seasons, some of it got lost unfortunately.
For Joss Whedon's directorial debut, I wasn't actually a fan of the episode. I din't hate it but I think it was hyped too much. I never understood why they say she died of drowning when it was blood loss that also could/should/would have been an issue. when you react to Angel I hope you will watch it the way it initially aired which people will remind you about around the start of S3 is my guess. But I am still a couple episodes behind in your reactions as I found this a little late and don't know if you read past video comments or not.
I've had a list constructed for me to make sure that the crossovers etc work in order and the shows will be in synchronicity. Whether one week has 2 Angel episodes and 1 Buffy or 2 Buffy and 1 Angel episode.
