Fierce is one of the REAL great djs out there, none of these social media last minute bandwagon hitting the sync buttons and taking selfies tossers. On vinyl he is untouchable. A bad bad bad boy, trust me.
Saw him play at the end of August at Drum n Bass Classics in LDN East. One of the most flawless sets I’ve ever witnessed, the way he blended every track together. Quite incredible! Met him afterwards and again the following week at another event and such a genuinely lovely person ❤❤
fierce is awesome. I remember him coming to columbus ohio and playing on a friday night and then driving to toronto a few cars deep so he could play in toronto saturday night and it was just nuts. I remember a old broke down abandoned mac truck on the way.
I met him once in fabric, I’m Irish and I think his mum is Irish and we spent a good part of the night hanging out just randomly in the dance. I’ll never forgot how humble and sound he was for a ‘famous’ DnB personality. Good memories
Love this footage. It’s like we get to experience popping round Fierce’s house to hangout and listen to him chat about his favourite tunes. Love the enthusiasm and the energy 💛
Durban Poison! I've got this tune! Original pressing-bought it back in in '93 as a 17 year old. Great times! 🙂 Salute Nico! Long time... greets from Cologne!
When mindgames dub drops... Fierce’s reaction is a perfect embodiment of the thing that happens in my brain when i listen to this music. Brings me so much joy, trip out!!!
Just incredible. No U Turn being my number one all time favorite label, seeing these little snippets from the vaults is amazing. Thanks for everything...
Love how down to earth he is, a normal chap that loves his beats and bass. Hes right too about later generations pigeon holing tunes into genres/sub genres when they werent even around when the tunes came out.
Fuckin legends. Fierce and Nico.Also. The arrangement of that first record played is what makes it good. Musical but moving. Grown up sounding with the instrumentation and samples. Still relevant sounding for today.
It’s an absolute crime that he’s not DJing as much anymore. Same league as Andy C and Randall IMO. I’d actually rather watch Fierce over the aforementioned.
Might agree about Andy C, can't listen to him for the past 15 years (although he and GQ played the absolute best ever set in march 99 in a Black Label party in Paris). Now i feel like he's just puking in my ears ! But watch out what you say about my man Randall, he is a GOD !!
Totally agree mate, so sad to see him not in the scene anymore. If you haven't already seen it: Jay bulletproof has done a recent Podcast with him (2022). It's really good. I hope he returns one day with his dark rollers =)
Would seriously love to kick it with Fierce and do exactly what they are doing in this video. Talk about this music we love so much over some smoke and some brews.
Darkcore was a thing. Perhaps reinforced were not originally a darkcore label but they became one and so were labels like legend and brain with artists like bizzy b
Personally I love the geeky sub (genres) talk, it helps you to discuss music and point out various influences and ingridients. You just need to remember it's all very fluid, styles are overlapsing with each other, there are no real boundries, some people get to militant and/or too orthodoxy about all of this :)
@@oskar_oskarewiczthere are some tunes where it’s fair to say it’s open to interpretation, you could call Durban Poison jungle, hardcore or drum and bass and each one would be right lol
Fierce is one of the REAL great djs out there, none of these social media last minute bandwagon hitting the sync buttons and taking selfies tossers. On vinyl he is untouchable. A bad bad bad boy, trust me.
Love how he talks about the tunes. Puts a big smile on my face

That kind of passion is contagious. Full respect to DJ Fierce, Nico, No-U-Turn ❣
Guy loves it like a lot of us do.. the way he describes the tune
Ya. When I talk this way, my pals tell me to shut and listen, which is sometimes good advice but sometimes they need to be turned on to stuff!
2016 - still sticking 3 papers together = old skool
I could watch ten hours of this very happily.
sick video
That last track is absolutely vicious!
Durban Poison! I've got this tune! Original pressing-bought it back in in '93 as a 17 year old. Great times! 🙂 Salute Nico! Long time... greets from Cologne!

I echo these sentiments. @ No U Turn crew: thank you, your music is amazing. Great videos on the channel ❤
Big respect. I was state side when all this hit and it’s some of my favorite times of my whole 46 years. When jungle was really at its height.
Fierce and Nico you guys are total legends No U Turn always brings the atmosphere, love this interview
"You've gotta have a go! God loves a trier."
Wise words right there.
Love how down to earth he is, a normal chap that loves his beats and bass. Hes right too about later generations pigeon holing tunes into genres/sub genres when they werent even around when the tunes came out.
Not even a dj, and i have almost of quarantine releases on vinyl, wish the best to you guys, and fierce mixing skills are so so huge!!
Love this ! Was really good to meet Mr Fierce at The run out the other day ❤.

Impossible to dislike - he contributed to the scene, you can see the love he has - as we all do.
Excited to see the rest.

Love Durban Poison... Classic transition track from hardcore to jungle. Will Stephen Fry be in the final cut of the film too...?
Just remembered that Optical's first tune was a remix of Durban Poison.

Absolute legends.
I love how he tells the story of the bassline
Photek is Gandalf.
Big up and yes lets see the rest...props to Beau Thomas too, man knows his shit when it comes to mastering. Big up Fierce, Nico and all the crew
Getting to know some of the personalities behind the NUT label has been a long time dream. Here's hoping the full version is sooner than later!

Photek was the daddy 6:35
... thank fuck other people are as non-fucking-plussed about naming types of music / drum and bass.
It's young cunts that never witnessed it first hand so pigeon holing it makes them feel better.
