These are the best , most accurately detailed models of the GE ac4400cw that I've seen outside of brass series locomotive models and I hear that Scaletrains produces incredible products most of the time.

This is how well balanced reviews should be done. Great job.

Thanks for the review. For me, the SXT UP yellow is way too greenish. After all these years I would have thought Scale Trains would have improved this (like they did on the BNSF orange and CSX blue) but they haven't. Its a shame as they are leaving money on the table, as myself and others I know would have bought MANY more UP units with correct yellow shade. Otherwise they are very nice locomotives. Lets hope they improve upon this in the future.

Yup I wish they could make it just a little more gold like it needs.

Great review! Really helpful as this is the best review I could find of these! Been looking into getting one a just curious, do they have DPU lights (where they are on in the opposite direction of the way they’re running)?

Nice review mate, quality info there. In Australia it is hard to come by SXT stock, but I did manage to get my hands on a new series GP30 and absolutely love it, I have 6 of the previous gen sxt locos which I love, but the new gen stuff is just unreal

Nice review. I’m not a rivet counter, but I think scaletrains did a good job on the UP version. All the bells, lights, sounds, looks are awesome, but equally impressive is the drive. When turning off the sound, it’s quiet and smooth, the only sound is the wheels hitting the rail joints. I even ran it forward and backward in speed step 1 and it just creeped along. The color isn’t an issue with me, I see all kinds of faded UP locos and I plan on weathering mine like the proto and adding PTC antenna from MAC Rail. I don’t have a ferrosur, but they look tempting. Thanks, Terry

Thank you. They definitely nailed the tooling on these for sure. I am looking forward to getting them all weathered up.
