  • We climbed the tallest hill in Borneo, Bukit Batu Selabat near Muara Tebas, in Sarawak, Malaysia! This hill is unique as it has large boulders on it's summit! The hill is located near Kampung Selabat, on the border of Bako National Park. We also visited the Arong Serait Waterfall, which is a beautiful 2-tiered waterfall in the jungle.

    Looks so close to Bako NP, like its own backyard. Have the kampung folks ever hike to Bako? I wonder if they've their own made trail.

    • @GlobalGibbon
      @GlobalGibbon  3 года назад +1

      The summit is only about 500 meters from the Bako NP border, I think! The locals probably have their own little trails to the boundaries of the park.

    • @GlobalGibbon

      Hey Jo! Thanks for your comment! I think it might be a bit too technical for Lennox. Maybe when he's 4-5, I think he'll be able to go up then. With a bit of help. =D

      @@jopiangmight be pretty tough, it's quite steep and hot! You could try though! Perhaps the hike to the waterfall is better, with more canopy cover and not too steep up/down. You can go there directly from the village.

      Hi Nick!
      It took us a total of 4 hours, including relaxing at the summit and waterfall. The hike to the summit takes about an hour, then the hike to the waterfall another hour, and it took an hour to get back to the village. It's one of the most rewarding hikes I have ever done!
