prototype9000 He's not a wrestler per se, he was a college graduate with 2 degrees who got into wrestling because he liked it, even though he had to train on a farm and drink water from a trough with horses and livestock. The guys who do it for the money are just whores who either quit in 2 years or lie their asses off like Hogan.
Future man here. During 2018 at WWE's joint PPV with the Kindom of Saudi Arabia hosted Crown Jewel at which Triple H tore his left Pectoral muscle right off during his and HBK's match with The Undertaker and Kane. Triple H = Steriods
Steroids don't automatically create Ultimate Warrior-like physiques, so if you're disbelieving because he wasn't a monster muscle head, you have to look at it differently.... take a SERIOUS look at HTM in WWF, versus his early times in CWA/Mid-South, and just in general, he was in fantastic shape. It's hard to see that when you're comparing his body to Hulk Hogan's.
i never liked his character. i never really liked anything about him. i only watch a shoot interview with him to see billy graham, but hearing HTM talk really changed my perception about him. very cool guy. thanks.
I had a talk with another professional wrestler and this is what he had to say about steroids.... There were wrestlers who worked out like crazy that were on steroids. There were wrestlers who worked out like crazy that were not on steroids There were wrestlers that didn't work out at all, but still took steroids There were wrestlers that didn't work out at all, and didn't take steroids If honky was taking steroids, and he was working out, like he claims an interviews.... Has to be the most unlucky person in the world when it comes to getting definition
He says in his Hannibal TV shoot that he "enjoyed that I didn't have to work out quite as hard to get better results", so he's somewhere close to the third category.
Yeah, he wasn't big or ripped. It's genetics though. There's a lot guys at the gym who take steroids and you can barely tell they lift, and others who take them and look like freaks, which is where good and bad genetics come in.
HTM is 1 of those people that would give you extremely valuable advice on any subject and he would probably be happy to tell you. Most wise people today don't get to give advice because my generation think we know everything. We don't. And I sure as hell don't. Wayne Ferris (HTM) is a decent old guy.
Appreciate the honest and humanizing demeanor of the Honky Tonk Man here who by the way after admitting to all that is still alive and looks healthy and happy considering. He still has that charisma and should have tried acting if he hasn't already. Definitely a wrestling legend and party entertainer. I would love to listen to this guy tell old war stories by a camp fire at a barbecue man, such a great story teller and brings alot of experience to the table 🤙🏼♥️
HT man was always one of my favs. A really smart guy and his character was hilarious with his wit and such a great heel he was. Always a straight shooter, no BS. I loved him as IC champ and how he complimented Jimmy Harts character. I miss this guy. He is need back in wrestling.
Yeah but it takes like years of steroids and training hard to look like ultimate warrior or Lex Luger. Someone may well have started taking them then decided they wasn't going to stick with it long enough to look like warrior.
Steroids is a great pain killer along with a strengthener ..He never said he used steroids to buff himself up from the weights..I knew all those guy were on a lot of pain killers and other substances due to their schedules and certain stunts impact in the ring..
I used to out lift guys that were on steroids. Never took them because I saw how they affected those who took them. A big problem with steroids is that it causes the belly of the muscle to get far stronger at a faster rate then the tendons and ligaments that connect the muscle to bone. As such it's much easier to get a complete tear off of the bone. Wrestlers dying at a young age because of how all the drugs and steroids adversly affect the heart muscle and other organs.
Top 25 steroid users 1: Scott steiner ( of course no surprise there) ( he used more steroids than every other wrestler combined) 2: superstar Billy Gram 3: hulk Hogan 4: Vince McMahon 5: lex Luger 6: buff bagwell 7: Batista 8: triple h 9: Chris Benoit 10: Titus O'Neil 11: Jon Cena 12: Roman reigns 13: Bobby lashly 14: Ezekiel Jackson 15: Jesse Ventura 16: big E Langston 17: the Rock 18: Randy Orton 19: British bulldogs 20: ultimate warrior 21: Brock Lesnar 22: Chris Jericho 23: Billy Gunn 24: Drew macintire 25: Braun strauman
The heart DOES respond to steroids, it also makes it expire faster. That's why men die 7 years faster on average than women, and people on steroids in about half the time.
For those that say " you couldn't tell he was on steroids". If you know what you're looking for, you CAN tell. I've spent enough time in and around gyms over the past 16yrs with dietitians, weight lifters and internationally competitive bodybuilders. Multiple family members of mine have used steroids (two died from heart attacks; enlarged hearts) - both were honest about their use. One of them (my cousin) would ask "Can you come into the toilets and shoot me up". That gym had signs up asking members not to leave their used needles lying around. A friend of mine (a very soft looking, chubby man - also on steroids - was his training partner), would always end up injecting him.
I have had friends on steroids and have friends that currently use them. One of them (who's honest about his use), looks like a stereotypical fast food, beer bellied, over weight guy with no muscular development at all. He has gangly arms and legs, he lifts well below average for his gender and weight. He has a moon-face, a constantly rock hard bloated stomach; (water retention) and a muscle tear in his shoulder that he has attributed to his years of steroid use. Steroids doesn't necessarily equate to big & ripped or big OR ripped. Honky was probably using steroids regularly (from what is an educated guess) around the back-end of his run in The Blonde Bombers up until mid-late1989. He looked like he'd have utilized compound lifts.
Taking roids doesn’t automatically give you a body builder physique you have to work out and eat right to get there. He may not of looked “buff” but he was definitely strong
I honestly wonder how Vince McMahon or any of the wrestlers he employed didn't end up in prison for all the illegal drugs they used and bought. He must have a damn good legal team.
Steroids don't make you Brock lesnar, lol. most people.who do them see gains and then losses because they get off and depression prevents them from training hard enough to maintain their gains they made from the gear.
Sorry HTM, if you took REAL roids back in the day like you say you did, YOU got RIPPED OFF big time... You never showed any signs of one who took them or you did take them, but never trained in the gym like others did. But kudos for your honesty.
I think he's one of the legends, but damn he never looked like he did steriods. I mean he had no definition. Even for that time period he didn't have a good body. He's a big dude, I believe 6'4, 245.
Davey Boy may have been fit but he used to go on a lot of Coke benders that doesn't do the heart and a good and sleep deprivation that isn't good for your body either
According to Bret Hart, Davey Boy was awake for 72 hours straight from smoking crack before they had their Summerslam 1992 match, so he basically had to carry him through that entire match. It’s another reason why that’s one of the greatest matches in WWE history when you take that into consideration
There is no shame in taking steroids, I would probably take them if we knew more about potential long term side effects and under a Doctors supervision. Only time I look down at a user is when they tell others that they can have a similar physique without them, in order to sell some bullshit supplement or workout program.
I wish more people were honest like him

The GREATEST Intercontinental Champion of all time. His character is still priceless
Greatest Intercontinental champion of ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL time
HTM has his faults but I've always loved his honesty.
Yeah he’s honest that’s what makes him likeable.
Thank you for being so honest
PC Invictus honesty?...😂
I applaud his honesty. Way to go HTM!
when he winks about the muscle tear, am I the only person that thought of Triple H's quad?
and vince's royal rumble double quad tear
Future man here. During 2018 at WWE's joint PPV with the Kindom of Saudi Arabia hosted Crown Jewel at which Triple H tore his left Pectoral muscle right off during his and HBK's match with The Undertaker and Kane. Triple H = Steriods
💯
you mean Nash?
Steroids don't automatically create Ultimate Warrior-like physiques, so if you're disbelieving because he wasn't a monster muscle head, you have to look at it differently.... take a SERIOUS look at HTM in WWF, versus his early times in CWA/Mid-South, and just in general, he was in fantastic shape. well put
Best storyteller in wrestling.
Sorry HTM is a great story teller and I also love his honesty about things. But Cornette will always be the king of wrestling story telling.
Idk man Scott Hall can talk..
Love the honesty
Great piece. It is refreshing to see HTM speaking in a normal voice and actually passing on information as opposed to trying to cut a new promo.
All I can say is Thank you for your honesty. Wow, this was very insightful!
i never liked his character. i never really liked anything about him. i only watch a shoot interview with him to see billy graham, but hearing HTM talk really changed my perception about him. very cool guy. thanks.
Hilarious how his hair and sideburns are just like it was 1989
I had a talk with another professional wrestler and this is what he had to say about steroids....

Wow he’s definetly a nicer guy than he appears in tv lol
HTM is and will always be the Greatest !!!!!! I love his interviews !!!
This is a true shoot. Straight up honesty.
He's a good ol' boy.
"I shaved down all my body and ooohhhh booy"
HTM is a legend
HTM is 1 of those people that would give you extremely valuable advice on any subject and he would probably be happy to tell you.
Most wise people today don't get to give advice because my generation think we know everything.
We don't.
And I sure as hell don't.
Wayne Ferris (HTM) is a decent old guy.
He reminds me of Randy Quaid lol
The thought of how many of his colleagues died so early is disturbing
He’s so down to earth
Appreciate the honest and humanizing demeanor of the Honky Tonk Man here who by the way after admitting to all that is still alive and looks healthy and happy considering. awesome interview !!!!
I met him one time great guy
$10 for a vial of real pharma Deca. Wow.
He must have taken steroids just for the faster recovery reasons
HT man was always one of my favs. A really smart guy and his character was hilarious with his wit and such a great heel he was. Always a straight shooter, no BS. I loved him as IC champ and how he complimented Jimmy Harts character. I miss this guy. He is need back in wrestling.
You sure couldn't tell by his body that he did steroids.
I thought the same. Him and Jake Roberts
Maybe he was really small and thin without em.
Yeah but it takes like years of steroids and training hard to look like ultimate warrior or Lex Luger. Someone may well have started taking them then decided they wasn't going to stick with it long enough to look like warrior.
very funny dude
good interview

What a down to earth guy👍
Honky Tonk with a good physique? I'd probably have to see it to believe it.
great uploads, subbed
Ha! Sitting in a car, sharing "about a dozen joints" on a road trip with HTM sounds like a fun, fun way to spend four hours...
I used to out lift guys that were on steroids. Never took them because I saw how they affected those who took them. Was HTM ever ripped?

Pretty good list. You see jericho 5 years ago ? About 300 lbs n sloppy
Best I’ve ever heard
HTM is a pretty cool cat.
Very honest man. He had a funny act, I always thought he was funny out there
Actually the muscles tear during TRAINING, but you don't feel it until later.
Handsome guy
The heart DOES respond to steroids, it also makes it expire faster. That's why men die 7 years faster on average than women, and people on steroids in about half the time.
That's why wrasslers live to mid 40s
Oh wow that's crazy. Can you reference any evidence of that?
I never knew he had a pec
For those that say " you couldn't tell he was on steroids". If you know what you're looking for, you CAN tell.

He never looked like he was on steroids, even on that card.
many get an enlarged heart from steroid abuse...
I once played a gig 6 hours away, I just kept rolling joints, must have smoked a quarter with 3 other heads
That was fierce interesting.
I think it's funny how people that were born around the 50's will always talk about how much weed they use to smoke
At what point was HTM ever buff ? I don't remember that at all .
Taking roids doesn’t automatically give you a body builder physique you have to work out and eat right to get there. He may not of looked “buff” but he was definitely strong
I need a cycle
My dad took steroids his doctor prescribed to him for his multiple sclerosis
Big rob
says it like it is
I honestly wonder how Vince McMahon or any of the wrestlers he employed didn't end up in prison for all the illegal drugs they used and bought. He must have a damn good legal team.
of course he does and has many high profile investors
power is money
When is this from? Guessing like 2001.
2008
@@TheHannibalTV Thanks. Love the channel.
HTM took steroids?! He always looked guy that wasn't on steroids! Skinny arms, no shoulders etc
Not everyone becomes Brock lesn r
Steroids don't make you Brock lesnar, lol. most people.who do them see gains and then losses because they get off and depression prevents them from training hard enough to maintain their gains they made from the gear.
HTM looked like he took........ hot dogs and pizza
Sorry HTM, if you took REAL roids back in the day like you say you did, YOU got RIPPED OFF big time... You never showed any signs of one who took them or you did take them, but never trained in the gym like others did. But kudos for your honesty.
Always wanting to prove himself
I think he's one of the legends, but damn he never looked like he did steriods. I mean he had no definition. Even for that time period he didn't have a good body. He's a big dude, I believe 6'4, 245.
No longer wrestles but still has Elvis sideburns...
You should reach out for him and let him benefit your amazing wisdom
His guitar was tougher than he was.
Is he in a jet?
The steroids his grandmother was taking for cancer are not the same stuff. lol
It was his mother. You don't listen!!!
Davey Boy may have been fit but he used to go on a lot of Coke benders that doesn't do the heart and a good and sleep deprivation that isn't good for your body either

What a punk!
His mom wouldn't listen to him so "she isnt around anymore so."
Htm was never a big muscly guy must of been shit steroids he was taking lol
This fella needs a hobby
HTM just summarized what happened to Benoit. The Cycle of doing one thing after another everyday caused him to go nuts and do what he did.
