  • Every few months in a forest garden the landscape completely changes. You can walk into the same space you were in maybe just a few weeks before and it's unrecognizable. It can genuinely feel like a different place and ecosystem. And to celebrate that, this is the first video in a series about the different seasons.
    Enjoy :)

Nice shots. Really gives a sense of the density of the forest garden.

Thanks. It's quite hard to get shots that really do it justice. Especially when you're learning how to use a camera on the fly. And waaaay better walking around in person.

@@foresnauts I’m kinda in the same boat, learning how to capture the feel of these types of systems. One challenge I’m having is trying to get decent audio / ambient sound for the drone shots or timelapse and stuff. I’m making videos as a way to document and share the changes through time, the work, etc. I used to just take a lot of photos and refer back to them (I still do this, too), but now I’m seeing that this format is better for capturing the feeling of forest gardens during various seasons, weather conditions, etc., which conveys a lot about the site. One idea is using 360 degree cameras and VR type stuff, I’ve seen it done on The Weedy Garden and it was pretty cool but I’m not ready for that yet haha.

Your videos always bring me peace and hope for my property. This year one corner just kind of clicked. Planted around a mature loquat and expanding from there and around that tree this year everything just shot off and it became a closed loop finally of organic matter

@@foresnauts wonderful! I thought it looked a little more warm than ours (UK). I attempt to maintain a playlist of temperate forest gardens that are on youtube, so have added yours. If you know of anymore I've missed would be great to hear about them.

@@familyfruit9833 Yes we are gulf stream neighbours! Similar climate but since we are to the South our sun is a bit more intense! We will let you know of channels in Galicia/Northern Portugal as we come across them :)

Yeah, it's a shame. I actually uploaded it a few times before I released it because something was up with the sound. And then youtube kept playing the sound differently on the final version. Very sad.
