  • Well overdue an update, few more bits and pieces added. The much needed crash bar protection from Crosspro is awesome and the Barkbuster kit is awesomer.
    The cigarette lighter style 12v socket has been bugging me for a while and is a really easy and quick swap for some USB/C sockets, with only the smallest of adjustments needed.
    Big thank you to www.abikething.com for sorting me out with the majority of parts needed, I met these guys on their stall at the ABR festival and put my order in soon after.

    Thinking about buying these crash bars for my Suzuki. They look good on this Norden for sure!

    Hi! Have you dropped the bike with this crash bars? I have got them installed as well. I haven't droped the bike yet and I'm not sure about how they perform. Thank's!
    Just for sharing, being a tall guy, I was disappointed with the expedition screen.

      @JosepMSala Hello, I’ve not dropped it but I originally chose these bars because I saw a guy online who ran his own riding school with a fleet of Norden, he used the same bars. They do feel very solid.

    Thanks for sharing. Do you know if this will work with the high front fender kit? How far from the bottom of the fairing is the highest point on the bar? The spot right below that narrow yellow stripe. Thanks.

      I won’t be able to check the gap until Sunday, I will see if I can get a measurement. Not sure about high fender kit

      I’ve taken pics, not sure how I get them to you but the gap between the top part of the bar and the bottom of the fairing is about 5mm, quite tight I can’t see how it would interfere with the high fender kit as that mounts to the bottom yoke right? Or am I mistaken?

    Do the crash bars fit the Expedition model?

    • @EverymanADV
      @EverymanADV  5 месяцев назад

      I’m not 100% sure but I think the upper crash bar would fit above the Expedition crash plate, I guess you would not need the lower bars. You can purchase the upper and lower bars separately.

    Hi, did you fit the Crosspro Crash Bar Kit yourself? Easy, tricky..things to be aware of? Great video, always good to see Norden stuff!

    • @EverymanADV
      @EverymanADV  Год назад

      Hi Adrian, yes I fitted it myself and it was pretty straightforward to be honest, the big issue I had was the hardware that came with it, the bolts were Allen key button head style (I did a RUclips clip about them) they were very shallow and I managed to destroy one just trying to tighten it up which took a while to remove, so rather than risk an issue at a later date I changed out all the bolts for Torx so they will hopefully last longer. The bars are also a little sprung meaning you need to loose fit everything before you tighten it all down, and the same in reverse, when I replaced the bolts I had to loosen everything a little or you would find that the bars would spring a little when you fully remove a bolt meaning the hole wouldn’t line up afterwards. Hard to describe but I think it is pretty usual for crash bars to be fair to Crosspro.

      @EverymanADV  Год назад

      Further to this I scanned a copy of the mounting instructions, if you want a copy I can get them to you, it has a list of the mounting hardware if you wanted to do the same as me and swap them out for Torx before you try and fit.

      Thanks for that. I am going to get a set, so will uprate the hardware as well. I have had my 901 just over a year and am loving it. If you could get that copy to me, it would be appreciated!

    Is there any chance to send me a link to ASV levers to Norden 901?🙂

    • @EverymanADV
      @EverymanADV  11 месяцев назад

      Hi, I did not buy ASV levers, I think if they are available for the Norden they will likely be KTM 890 versions but expect to pay £300 plus. The levers I bought were these

      a.aliexpress.com/_mtVLam2
      I am not that happy with them but they will do for a while, they are too bulky, I really wanted 2-finger levers.
      If I can’t get some ASV levers I think Gilles also make some.

    Hey there, how about ride comfort after that de-cat mod? Isnt the bike too loud for your liking? And how about your neighbors? ;) cheers!

    • @EverymanADV
      @EverymanADV  Год назад

      Hi there, it actually quietens down as you ride so when you are cruising it is quite civilised, it livens up if you grab a fist full of throttle but that makes it more fun. It’s no louder than your average sports bike when you start it but if early morning start ups are your normal routine then the neighbours will hear it 😉 I would always recommend getting a pipe with a resonator if you can afford to, that would be my ideal setup and I will change eventually, but I’m in no rush. As for comfort, I have to wear ear plugs because of the wind noise, not the exhaust.

    How long have you had the norden mate? I am looking to get one ,but the usual reliability question is bugging me. Maybe i watch too much RUclips. How has your experience been, thanks 👍

      Hi Christian, I’ve had her just over 5-months and she hasn’t skipped a beat, I’ve only covered 1200 miles but she is very confidence inspiring. The only thing I can think of was that when she was brand new i found lots of false neutrals when using the quickshifter but this issue disappeared as she was run in.
      I’m still very happy and I don not regret choosing the Norden one little bit.

    • @mikealls8938
      @mikealls8938 Год назад +1

      @@EverymanADV Hi thanks for the reply. I have a Suzuki GSXS GT and that sometimes goes into neutral with the quickshifter 1st to 2nd. Think it is quite common on most bikes probably due to the speed in those gears or just not whacking it enough! Ok, sounds good. I am debating and haven't test rode yet but took the 890 out last year and liked the engine just not the looks. Husky seems better value atm. Was planning on test riding today in Nottingham but went on a transalp, then got soaked so gave up on husky. Will try again next week. Transalp sucked in my opinion.

      @@mikealls8938 there are a lot of nice bikes out there now, when I first saw the Norden at the bike show I knew I had to have one. Though now the choice would be more difficult, the latest version of the Tenere world raid, the Ducati Desert X….and of course the Norden Expedition. I’m very happy with mine though so I’m sticking for now 👍🏼

    Hi, bike looks great, did you have to cut ant plastic out to fit the usb charger? Thanks

    • @EverymanADV
      @EverymanADV  Год назад +1

      Just a small bit of filing of the whole itself, you probably need to remove a couple of mm, I carefully used a curved face file but it would be easier and quicker with a die grinder. You remove so little material that you could put it back to stock if you wanted to.
