Markets face a setback before the Union Budget with a significant drop in stock prices. On the last trading day of the week, the Sensex plummeted by 750 points and the Nifty fell below 24,550. Both benchmark indices witnessed a decline of around one percent due to extensive selling ahead of the 2024 Union Budget. The Sensex closed at 80,604.65, down by 738.81 points or 0.91 percent, while the Nifty50 settled in the red at 24,530.90, with a decrease of 269.95 points or 1.09 percent.
