Talk about nostalgia overload! This game was so classy and stylish for its time. The detached, noirish intro, all the well-dressed pretty ladies on screen, drinks, billiards, and some jazzy video game music. As a 10-year-old in 1992, "Side Pocket" perfectly encapsulated how I imagined being a "cool" grown-up. Driving your fancy car into the city on a Friday night for some drinks and a few games of pool.
Also the same makers that did Street Hoops for Neo Geo, Tattoo Assassins for Midway arcades and Virtuoso for the 3DO starring a leathery long blonde-haired dirtbag who looked like Dog The Bounty Hunter.
Well, that's until someone wants to wipe a spot off your shirt and you realize you've been pickpocketed for six grand. Why are you looking at me like that? It's not like I'm still angry..
I never got past the first stage because I was always really bad at that game, but I always liked to "try" to play it. Not to mention this track that makes us feel at the 007 Film Casino Royale(😂).
One of my first contacts with smooth jazz ever, since it wasn't a very commom music style here in my country + no internet back in the day. Much appreciated.
The music and the little cut scene pictures were done beautifully in the game and the controls and sound effects were not bad, either. My complaints are that there were no options for different types of pool games, no extra modes for those different types of pool games, there was not an option for 15 balls on the screen, as would be in an actual game of Solids and Stripes, and that there were not options for more types of games within the different types of pool games, i.e, no option for 8-Ball within American or British Billiards/Pool, for example. The way that the people looked in the game was VERY impressive for 1992 standards...they almost look like early PC versions of real life photographs.
@@codytravers123 SNES superaba por mucho las capacidades sonoras de la Genesis, tenía más canales de sonido y podía reproducir en Estéreo. Eso es especialmente evidente en DK Country y Super SF2.
I think the voice clips are pretty good. Most Mega Drive ports also have very good voice clips too, like Captain America and the Avengers, which borders on arcade perfect.
“Presented By Data East” the same producers that did Street Hoops for Neo Geo, Tattoo Assassins for Midway arcades, and Virtuoso for the 3DO starring a leathery long blonde-haired dirtbag who looked like Dog The Bounty Hunter.
I love the subtle adult theme in this game. Billiards, posh bars, alcoholic drinks, stylish travel, and of course... the ladies.
“THAT’S WHAT IM TALKIN’ ABOUT BABY!” as the nightlife looks glamorous when playing Side Pocket.
yeah I remember watching my cousin(RIP Jackie) play this game as a kid and being in awe.
@@jadedheartsz Great memories, hope you hang on to them forever :)

Trilha sonora impecável sensacional... Relembrar é viver... Que nostalgia pura meus amigos
Such smooth background music.
Me too 😊
After so many years. I have finally completed all trick shots. I was missing some and you helped me get them. Thanks a lot!
I always sucked at this game as a kid, but boy did we love playing it anyway! And the music!

Best version of the game ever. I also prefer this soundtrack over the SNES one.
I prefee the version of Sega Saturn called "Minnesota Fats: Pool Legend".
Side Pocket 2 in japan.
100% facts!!! Love this soundtrack and the way it brings me back to my childhood 🥲🍻💪
Genesis was better with jazzy tunes.
I had completely forgot how this game has such a cool aesthetic
This and Vegas Stakes were the super chill SNES games...

The soundtrack is really catchy.
What a glamorous picture this paints of the Pro Pool tour
No, this is less pro tour and more the color of money. Bars, ladies, billiards and jazz.
Siempre quise ver todos los tricks, no era muy buena en eso 😅.
Buen video
Adorava esse game
Obrigado .
Penelope Ann Miller ❤❤
The thumbnail almost looks like strip poker.
my father's favorite game
When did Paul Newman start playing video games???
The music sounds like its a PC port back when the sounds weren't as good as they are now..
