About the Ndlovu Youth Choir:
Can participation in a music program change the lives of even the world’s most disadvantaged children? The choristers of the Ndlovu Youth Choir are living proof that it certainly can. This vibrant youth choral ensemble chants, harmonizes, and tip-toe-taps their way through a powerful 11-language repertoire that includes a sampling of all things South Africa: from isicathamiya (is-caht-a-MEE-ya), the a cappella genre accompanied only by body percussion, made famous by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, to ancient tribal chants, contemporary gospel, Afro-pop and Afro-jazz from the repertoires of Hugh Masekela and Miriam Makeba, and uplifting choral music written exclusively for the choir.
Founded in 2009, this exuberant group has toured southern Africa and Europe with their multi-sensorial performances to significant critical and audience acclaim. The members are selected by audition from the young people from the Ndlovu Care Group, a community program providing healthcare, early childhood education, after-school activities, and more to rural Moutse, Limpopo, South Africa. Program directors find that, because of the time commitment of the choir, as well as the values of self-discipline, self- confidence, and leadership that participation imbues, choristers have lower rates of drug use, delinquency, and teen pregnancy than their peers.
It’s about more than just staying out of trouble, though. The choir offers an early pathway to artistic and professional achievement that is so often only available to children from affluent backgrounds, but it also offers a connection to the children’s ancestral roots and allows them to share those cultural roots with the world. It’s a profound gift in both directions, and one which the singers themselves say fills them with hope: for a better life and for a better world.
Why when Africans sings i feel like their voice comes out from the heart of the earth.
We put soul in everything we do.. thats why 😊
because the song is in their native tongue that's why it hits different from when whites sing this song.
it's about a good understanding of life a death. it guides one to live a life of purity and to give from the heart. when true art comes from the heart, it connects human beings from all parts of the world. it's like the sun. we all connect with it
Cause it does
@@pumezaqina1051 That is true.
No one can change my mind. African choirs just hit different.❤
Indeed. Africans are blessed
I agree with you. Truly incredible. There is something so magical about these guys. The power they all have blows my mind, and I could listen to them sing all day. They give me real emotions, positive vibes and incredible energy. I love these guys. I'm rooting for them all the way.
Well they are the best in the entire world tho!

This song has found its true home: an African song about African life sung by Africans.
MVE it was always sung by an African and it originated in South Africa.

For you:
Repent and be baptize in the name of Yeshua Almighty Masiah, time is running out, Yeshua love you and He don't won't you to parish, repent and turn to Yeshua Amen.😇
Many months ago, I read a comment about The Circle of Life which has stayed with me. The author stated simply in a manner that a contemporary audience would understand, "Ladies and gentlemen, please rise for the Planetary Anthem!" I believe that the Prince of Peace might agree, Therefore, one day such an introduction could be heard. Although I might not stand, kneeling may be a more appropriate posture. Let us truly honour All Life as the Creator's Will. Amen
The choirmaster deserves a lot of credit too
When they commend the choir they commend everyone including the choirmaster
I just love him hey. He is special, from SA I just see a heart of gold in him and his work is great!
It would be dangerous to start congratulate individuals in this 'group'. Everyone plays a role to this beautiful sound but I get your point he's started it. Ever heard of Paul in the Bible? Barnabas 'made' Paul and disappeared off the scene.

Woah, this gave me goosebumps, and tears. Love from Russia ❤
Dear God, I am African American and this brought me to tears. The white man has stolen so much from us. Look at how beautiful we are. No wonder they fear us realizing who we are, when just our voices and the sound of drums can move souls. My African brothers and sisters of the world, wake up, they will never see us as their equals because deep down they know we are their superiors in every way, how could we not be when we are Gods original people. This song sounds like home. One day...I hope all Africans can call Africa home and we can once again live in peace and harmony with God and nature. As America says: "United we stand, divided we fall". STAY STRONG MY AFRICAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF THE WORLD.
A white guy leads the group lol. Keep preaching your want to divide everyone lol.
We see you 🇿🇦✊🏾.
